1. Price aside, I can't help thinking it looks like an unfinished prototype. The headstock is a huge let down. I mean for that budget, why not look to having a system like Steinberger's excellent Drop Tune bridge system for headless instruments? That looks great and will shave more off the length of the bass if that's their main driver for this travel bass. Something you can get on a 300 quid Steinberger instrument. I'm sure it plays nicely but for innovation, I'm gonna have to go with Kiwi's Shuker, MacDaddy's Shuker.. Oh and my headless Shuker too!
2. Anyone after a great sounding cabinet for no money? Includes Speakon connectivity too.
3.
I've heard on TB that Spector do not give their endorsing artists any basses for free. Any truth in this do you know?
. An artist of XYZ brand I suppose could receive an instrument in a case where no physical cash changed hands. However, an 'endorsement' should be a mutually beneficial business agreement for both parties - I.e, artist should be expected to 'pay' for that instrument via other avenues - be it videos, reviews, advertising etc etc. So, in that respect, no I think it unlikely Spector 'give away' instruments. This isn't unusual either. It's the business we're in. Well, to put it in a different light and maybe not necessarily speak for Spector specifically; companies *can* leave artist endorsement 'agreements' in the hands of local distributors. For many reasons too, oh and I know of at least one brand based in the US that doesn't officially recognise it's UK.artists, so the Uk 'branch' decide what their artists get.
4. I've been very lucky to interview Doug. I came away that day with a new friend. Genuine genuine guy who has stayed in touch. The camera team who video'd the day said that it was the best interview they'd ever worked on. I can't take too much credit for that, Doug was just superb! We played swapsies too - I played his lovely Spectors and Doug has made my Shuker custom sing!

7.
Thought he was the boss of Playdood magazine.
You called?
8.
Have you hacked the database?
What are you doing Dave?
9.
It won't be able to control tap tempo or use the expression pedal. It also won't be able to do patch up or down - only jump to a specific patch number. To be able to do those extra things, the midi controller needs to know about the individual effects of the Zoom pedal and be able to interrogate/listen to it. It's possible to do that, but not with the gear in the youtube video.
Excellent, jumping to a new patch is spot on and having the B3 in front of me will mean that everything else is taken care of. I'm yet to see a small solution on the market that does do all of those things, so the Kenton will have to do!
10.
A drunken lefrash can't work out if that can control tap tempo and expression pedal? Or is it a simple way to get to patch selection? That's awesome on its own.
I've no idea - but you'd still have access to the controls on the B3 at the same time I suppose. It's just the patch selection I wanted access to mainly. I have a Boss FC50 which is an amazing little MIDI controller that will allow me access to ten patches at a time, certainly enough for a gig without jumping to a new bank on the FC50. When I get the Kenton I'll report back!
11. Oh wait - turns out it will work with the MS60B too! Cool, I'll crack that bad boy out first!!
12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIzNqbW8-wk Need I say more? Just ordered the Kenton on a whim. I have a MIDI controller.. will need to get a B3, but this is exactly what I want from the B3!
13. Phil answered my wanted advert and I've just taken delivery of a 'as new' boxed amp which is shaking the windows right now. Absolutely brilliant communications. I echo what Whizzy said above.
14. P.s. Buy the cab!
15.
Does buying a stock bass from, say ACG, Status, Shuker et al, cover the same ground as buying from Barefaced...? You see where I'm going with this...?
I know that Shuker has T&Cs at the time of order including a cancellation policy, which if i recall correctly is fairly generous considering the nature of such an order. There is a difference in 'off the shelf stock' and 'custom order' though as you should expect
16. Lots of interest, no biters. Still available!
17. Do you take the plunge? Why yes of course you do! After many many years I have finally stopped saying, "maybe it's the cab that doesn't sound right." The Big Twin II is a superb bass cabinet. For me, I've always wanted a cabinet that would truthfully reproduce what I put in to it. Believe me, there are plenty of cabinets I've played CD's through and they just sound naff. (This is a good, simple way to find out what a cabinet does to your signal) The BTII would make a superb PA cabinet and for that reason (as well as many others) I no longer worry if the thing at the end of my signal chain is causing the problems. I didn't always feel this way about BF cabinets mind. I wasn't a fan of the first (and certainly non-tweetered) cabinets. Even the midrange unit of the early versions left me for wanting. Gen3, the BTII could still be considered an 'early offering' from Barefaced too. I mean, look at it this way... If only people knew how many iterations designers go through over the life of a product. The fact that Barefaced is only up to it's third generation of products is testament to the dedication going in to the products in that the Big Twin is that good, so quickly. The only other cabinets I would add to my gear right now would actually be a pair of BB2's.
18. Thanks again NoirBass! Yup happy days! BC, connecting musicians everywhere!!

I didn't need to read that my fellow gadgeteer!! I'm going to close this window and try to pretend it never happened Step away from the credit card.... heh!
20. He he he he!! Hi Low Note! Lemme ping you a message good sir!
21. I've video reviewed both the head alone and combo in Guitar Interactive.I really liked them both, though I'd have gone for the head so I could pop it on the cabinets of my choice.
22. Out of interest - and an idea what your signal chain is, what pedals and bass are you using?
