1. P.s. Buy the cab!
2.
Does buying a stock bass from, say ACG, Status, Shuker et al, cover the same ground as buying from Barefaced...? You see where I'm going with this...?
I know that Shuker has T&Cs at the time of order including a cancellation policy, which if i recall correctly is fairly generous considering the nature of such an order. There is a difference in 'off the shelf stock' and 'custom order' though as you should expect
3. Lots of interest, no biters. Still available!
4. Do you take the plunge? Why yes of course you do! After many many years I have finally stopped saying, "maybe it's the cab that doesn't sound right." The Big Twin II is a superb bass cabinet. For me, I've always wanted a cabinet that would truthfully reproduce what I put in to it. Believe me, there are plenty of cabinets I've played CD's through and they just sound naff. (This is a good, simple way to find out what a cabinet does to your signal) The BTII would make a superb PA cabinet and for that reason (as well as many others) I no longer worry if the thing at the end of my signal chain is causing the problems. I didn't always feel this way about BF cabinets mind. I wasn't a fan of the first (and certainly non-tweetered) cabinets. Even the midrange unit of the early versions left me for wanting. Gen3, the BTII could still be considered an 'early offering' from Barefaced too. I mean, look at it this way... If only people knew how many iterations designers go through over the life of a product. The fact that Barefaced is only up to it's third generation of products is testament to the dedication going in to the products in that the Big Twin is that good, so quickly. The only other cabinets I would add to my gear right now would actually be a pair of BB2's.
5. Thanks again NoirBass! Yup happy days! BC, connecting musicians everywhere!!

Line 6 Helix.

I didn't need to read that my fellow gadgeteer!! I'm going to close this window and try to pretend it never happened Step away from the credit card.... heh!
7. He he he he!! Hi Low Note! Lemme ping you a message good sir!
8. I've video reviewed both the head alone and combo in Guitar Interactive.I really liked them both, though I'd have gone for the head so I could pop it on the cabinets of my choice.
9. Out of interest - and an idea what your signal chain is, what pedals and bass are you using?
10.
This has probably been done, another thread just made me think of it though.. Mine was a black Marlin slammer P-Bass copy with a maple fingerboard. Bought for £25 in 1988. I now know it was an awful Bass, but at the time I didn't know any different and I did some serious learning on that thing! Often wish I still had it, just for nostalgia.
Mine was a red Marlin Sidewinder!! I mean, for 1989 or whatever it was when I got mine, it wasn't a bad bass, not compared to some - and even better than some modern 'entry level' instruments today if I am totally honest. I was a ply body though, but I liked it's nod to the Jazz Bass Special and Precision Deluxe models. I too learned so so much on that bass!
11. I've got a set of 5 Chrome ones for sale on BC which are installed on Dingwall basses.
12.
Hey Dood, I downloaded the BIAS demo set to give it a go but I can't find anywhere were it says what restrictions there are if any with it. Does it just run like the free version of Amplitube where it is just that you have a limited set of gear to work with but that there is no time limit? Can't find anything on the site. Edit: was just playing with it and the sound randomly drops out. Hate that with demos.
Yup that's correct, the sound does drop out in the demo versions and yes, I'm not a fan of it either! I'd rather have a fully functioning version for a week for example. That said, I LOVE that PG is available on IOS and it sounds great using BIAS and associated apps on a mobile device. There's even a thread on BC about how to do that instead of taking your amp to a gig. Bonus!
13. Thank you for the message! I'm be sent Zep' a PM much appreciated!
14. It might not be the answer you are after, but here's my amp sim software of choice - http://www.positivegrid.com/index.html%3Fp=8125.html - in fact all of the Positive Grid products are stunning. I've just finished recording bass for a new album and every single part has used 'BIAS' and 'BIAS FX'. Super stunning!
15. Still here looking for a new home!
16.
Just wondering if anyone has had these fitted and what the results are like?
The results are very very good indeed!
17.
Would they not go up the truss rod channel?
The cabling could foul the operation of the truss rod I guess. I read in the past that lathes similar to those used in gun making (long drills as mentioned above) are used to make the channels for the cabling and LEDs.
18. Right then! All ready to sell! I will adjust the prices accordingly too and will do a deal on the whole lot in one go!
19. Time to get this one sold then! If you buy both, I will throw in the Zoom MS50G that's sat on top in the pictures above!
20. Thanks Biro - yes, the laptop is the easy bit and have a machine more than capable of doing way more than I need - but I'd like to see if one of these 'tiny machines' can do the job. I have an external interface that can handle audio and MIDI so that's the easy bit. I think the interface is actually bigger than some of those 'net-top' boxes and certainly huge in comparison to Stick PCs!
21. I've just treated myself to a WMD Utility Parametric EQ. I'll let you know how I get on with it. Not just mids though, this is a full Para EQ pedal. YAY!
22. Hey all! Just wondered if anyone is using a Micro PC or even a stick PC to run music software, even a basic DAW on? Would love to know if it's possible to run bass (via an interface) through some plug ins as a bit of a project. Just for fun at the moment. If I could, I'd run MacOS and Mainstage 3, but there are plenty of other options including using my favourite 'Reaper' by CockOS as the audio platform. What should I be looking for in a Micro PC? I'd like lots of memory and an SSD, though the drive doesn't have to be huge. Would love to hear your thoughts, especially of you have already experimented down this route! Dood
