I'm pretty sure I had Cupid's Dead, but if not, there's a really good bass cover floating around YouTube that you could extract and slow down instead. I'll see if I can find the notation - it's very likely to be on Guitar Pro.

Another new toy has appeared on my horizon this evening. It looks like a cut down version of the B|Amp. I've been gigging the B|Amp a lot recently and love it; I think those who might not want all of the DSP controls will like this version. Here's the blurb from the Bergantino website. I have to say, if it sounds as good as the B|Amp it's going to make a lot of friends! http://bergantino.com/product/forte/
Description Bergantino Audio forté Bass Amplifier The new Bergantino forté (pronounced “for-tay”) bass amplifier is the newest member of the Bergantino Audio amplifier family. The Bergantino Audio Systems forté is an incredibly flexible, state-of-the-art Bass Amplifier, delivering maximum performance in a compact package. The forté uses the same analog preamp and power amp section employed in the ground breaking B|Amp, but with fewer options and control. The forté and the B|Amp have the same great sound, headroom and immediate command of your bass instrument signal, but is offered in a traditional amplifier package. You will find many familiar features of the B|Amp including 4-band EQ control, bright switch, variable input gain adjustment, effects send/return, auxiliary input and headphone jack, tuner out, dual SpeakOn jacks, studio quality direct output, 2-Ohm operation and universal power supply. The forté also has a unique On-Board VRC (Variable Ratio Compressor) compressor adjustable from the front panel. • 4-Band Tone Controls • Bass: +/- 10dB @ 63Hz • Lo-Mid: +/- 10dB @ 250Hz • Hi-Mid: +/- 10dB @ 1kHz • Treble: +/- 10dB @ 3.5kHz • Bright switch: +6dB @ 6.5kHz • On-Board adjustable VRC (Variable Ratio Compressor) Compressor • Auxiliary input and headphone jack for personal monitor and practice use • Effects send and return loop • Studio quality Direct Output, software selectable Pre or Post EQ • UPS – Universal power supply 115VAC- 240VAC 50/60Hz • Power Section: 700W RMS at 4-Ohms, 800W RMS at 2-Ohms • Dimensions (WxDxH): 10.5″W x 8.375”D x 3.75”H • Weight: 6 lbs. • ProNet Price: $899 USD (International Prices set in each country)
It doesn't look like the Forte includes the DSP speaker matching profiles which for me personally has been a major selling point of the B|Amp when paired with Bergantino speaker cabinets. This function is similar to the 'tuning' used by PA manufacturers to ensure that amplifier and cabinets pair accurately in desired frequency response. E.g, 'flat'. Either way, it's going to sound great.
..
Continued: There is! ha ha - Just needs the 2.1mm barrel plug soldered on and away we go!
I might try that, I could do with something to hold my ipad charge too..
Ok, here's what I bought so I could power a device with a Mini USB socket for power: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-DC-Converter-Buck-Module-8-22V-9V-12V-to-5V-mini-usb-output-1M-power-cable-/221547097296?hash=item33953c6cd0:g:E8QAAOSwEK9UEqwB I'm trying to find something that will allow connection to an iPad and I'm guessing the only way at the moment would be to use a USB-Lightening cable and something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-to-DC-buck-Converter-8-22v-12v-to-5v-step-down-USB-port-and-mini-usb-output-/221546990721?hash=item33953acc81:g:QCEAAOSw-jhUEmxh Or if you are up to a bit of DIY this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-DC-9V-12V-24V-TO-5V-USB-2A-VEHICLE-CHARGER-STEPDOWN-POWER-MODULE-SANWOOD-POSH-/352035089319?hash=item51f6ed2ba7:g:mGkAAOSwRUhY-GBc All of these I have chosen because they are regulating the input voltage down to a smooth 5V which will also help to cut down noise between devices. (In a similar way to the isolated power supplies that have been discussed elsewhere). I'm sure there is a more elegant solution for iPad charging from a pedal board power supply, I've literally just searched for 5 minutes. Dan
I might try that, I could do with something to hold my ipad charge too..
Let me see if I can find the link to the part I bought, I just needed to solder a plug on the other end...
Still plenty available on ebay around the same price, although I am sure anything with the same name that looks the same is the same but rebadged.
And mine is going strong - I've even been using it with an adaptor I built to power some 5v USB goods too.

I sit on my BB2 all the time, no problem.
Hi, I'm 40 years old and I'm thinking to start learning to play bass guitar. I just read a lot information about the instrument, learning experiences, difficulties... My question is, I'm too old to learn to play bass guitar and how far I can go? Thanks
Never too old! My eldest student is 74 and came to me an absolute beginner. One of my favourite weekly lessons too! If you find a great teacher then you'll be set! Good luck

D'addario's cable systems are very good. I'd recommend those!

If anyone wants to send me a range of Vanderkley 12" speaker cabinets I'll be able to offer my thoughts verses Berg HDN112, HDN212, HD112 (x2), Barefaced Big Twin II, Barefaced Big Baby II, Aguilar GS112, Aguilar SL112, Hartke 112 (x2), Dr Bass (lol), EBS Classic 112 (x2) Trickfish 112, Laney 112, TC Electronic K-Cabs 212... and probably a few more off the top of my head too. I've owned most of these but some I have reviewed.

Well, this bad boy just appeared on my radar this morning. A very dear friend of mine introduced me to Alex who I understand has played a big part in the design of this drive pedal. On a personal note, he's a experienced musician who knows his stuff about bass gear as well as being a thoroughly nice guy. For the drive, I'm looking forward to getting my paws on one as I am very particular about the drives I choose, especially as I am a massive fan of having separate levels for both dirt and clean signals rather than just a limiting pan knob. Here's the Facebook Link: https://www.facebook.com/zoomukdistribution/videos/1918442288369070/ and one for YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erPxrCG9RHU I wanna get hold of that treble control!

Blown away by the ACS customer support recently. The local rep is a top chap and even popped round to say hi!
Some very odd replies here. The main reason is simply that people's vocal ranges vary hugely. Think Paul Robeson and Robert Plant. I'm a natural baritone. I have a rather unexciting mid-ranged voice. Loads of rock songs are pitched far higher than my voice will go, because they're designed to be sung by tenors like Robert Plant and Bruce Dickinson. Plenty of songs are pitched way lower than my voice will go, because they're designed to be sung by Barry White. I suppose I could sing (a version of) Stairway To Heaven if I really felt like it, but never in the original key. That's not because I'm lazy (I'm not) or have an untrained voice (10 years' choral work in a bunch of choirs, thank you very much). It's more a matter of physiology and, y'know, yer actual physics and that.
Indeed! I'm flabbergasted when musicians who don't have to go to the effort of singing are unwilling to change key to suit the singer's voice. I think I'm as miffed when I see trolls complaining that a singer with a long career behind them has to drop a key to still deliver their songs some 30 years after recording them. I know that I couldn't sing any 2 hour gig even in my 'perfect' singing range, but to force a singer to keep pushing theirs to the limits whilst we just noodle away in our happy place is just insane. 'lol'.
There is a switch on the back of the amp to change to 120v, I wonder if that would have worked?
I'm glad you didn't test the theory as that would have most certainly have cost you. As for generators, in all my years gigging, only a few times has a venue or promoter ever known there correct specification for a generator used for live music. We've always had to get an upgrade in. So, in short, if you know the gig may include the need for a gen, make sure it is suitable before leaving for the gig because the venue sure as sh*t won't pay for damage to your gear caused by plugging it to their generator.

One of my old customers (from an old life) was called Shirley Knott. I don't think she'd ever watched Police Squad either.
Now you say! Just bought a Corona AND a vortex!
It wouldn't hurt to have all three
If I change a bridge I like the Gotoh 201B is very well made does not look out of place and is about half the price of some of the other mentioned makes on this thread
The 201B is a great bridge, I like it a lot. I'd love to see a version with quick release slots in it, that'd be great. For cheap and cheerful, the Wilkinson BBoT type with brass saddles works very well. I think it's actually a steel baseplate too.
That's a bit of a shame. I have a Trinity T2 reverb and Hall of Fame TonePrints work with it. Edit: I suppose they are both the same "type" of effect though so it makes a bit more sense...
Some Toneprints are indeed designed to work on like for like pedals - for example the Brian May Chorus works on both the Corona and Dreamscape pedals.
-
Just a quick question! If you have the TC Corona, could you use a toneprint from the Vortex pedal so you can have chorus/flanger on one pedal?
Buy the DreamScape, job's a good'un - and boy is it a great sounding pedal!

EVENT: Yamaha / Line 6 hosting a Helix learning lab in London
Dood replied to fretmeister's topic in General Discussion
Full details are here: https://www.yamahamu...?article_id=192 It is being hosted by Ross Bailey (Rossyamaha on the Fretboard forum) who is a very handy session player and the font of all helix knowledge. No doubt it will be concentrating on guitar use, but the Helix is an amazing bass unit too, and the routing options are beyond anything else I've ever heard of. Apparently it will be streamed on the Yamaha facebook page too. I'm most annoyed I can't get out of work. I love my Helix - it has replaced multiple preamps and pedals for me and I've only scratched the surface.
I would dearly love to see it but similarly I am 'busy at work'. Hopefully the stream will be viewable after the clinic so I can see it still. -
Would this be a good time to roll out the over used "When Doves Cry" witty reply? For me, I will have the opening piano bars of Bohemian Rhapsody. Queen wrote the song for the inauguration and unveiling of my birth and it stayed at number one in celebration of my arrival in the world. God (John Deacon) was looking over me.* *ok, I made that bit up. The song was at number one when I was born.
