I'll tell you what I'd love, purely because I hate making the extra trip to bring it, it doesn't fit in my small gig box and I sometimes forget it altogether.... some kind of bass keeper/holder/rest to put the bass guitar on whilst not in use attached to the cab.
I have both of these and they are ace: D'addario Guitar Dock and Guitar Rest https://www.thomann.de/gb/planet_waves_pw_gd_01_guitar_dock.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw2s_MBRA5EiwAmWIac8LWn33CbCb5QYMmLVq01wLgmom8BriUB9VRVh0buBLqFDjLf5x2whoCUtkQAvD_BwE https://www.thomann.de/gb/planet_waves_gr_01_guitar_rest.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw2s_MBRA5EiwAmWIac3WZP39MB_nGmk2rOuOd50oAuHg-VtMNTGyUvTbSiwVvTkUDZpGythoCAlEQAvD_BwE
 2.
I've been looking for a good Dingwall Afterburner for a while now and finally one has cropped up on Ebay. It didn't sell initially but I sent the seller a message and we agreed on a price. It looks fantastic and is a joy to play. I had to sell a couple of basses to afford this but it was worth it. The even string tension really does make a difference. Its in virtually new condition apart from a couple of light marks on the bridge. It is fairly heavy (I'd guess 11-12lbs) but that's never been an issue to me. Before I messaged the seller I emailed Dingwall for any info they may be able to provide on the bass. They got back to me within 2 hours with following response. Great service considering they had nothing t gain from me buying a used instrument! Hello Rikki, this is what I can tell you: Model: ABHS (Heavy Solid), probably in the 11-13 lb range Body: Bubinga Top: Wenge Color: Natural Gloss Neck: Wenge Fingerboard: Macassar Ebony Electronics: Glockenklang 3-Band Preamp with Dingwall Rotary Pickup Selector Pickups: FD3 Hardware: Hipshot (custom made for Dingwall) Ship Date: Feb 10, 2014 This bass was the first ABHS built. This model is still available but you can no longer get it with bubinga. We don't use any woods that are on the CITES list and bubinga is one of them. Only 8 of this model has been produced at this point. Jeff Frey Dingwall Guitars I know - no pictures, no bass - so here you are! They really don't do it justice though.
Wonderful bass, congrats! A rare one then Oh and Jeff is absolutely top notch. We e-chat often and he is always quick to help and will always do what he can.
 3.
Do it!
I'll give it a go tomorrow - I have a setting which might do the trick, or at least a nice place to start. One of my presets, if I can remember which has a bias towards the low mids and a different threshold for slap and pick attack on the top end. I use it with bright basses to balance the tone a bit. I love the SC. it's a superb pedal and the only thing I reviewed that got 5 stars. A couple of items got really close, but SC just blew my mind when you dig deep.
 4. The 2011 models were indeed available with the a Sunburst option but not an RW board as far as I know but I could be wrong: https://reverb.com/uk/item/4786451-fender-classic-series-70s-precision-bass-2011-mij However, there were older PB70 models that were available from Japan such as OLY and RW, Black and RW with mirrored pick guard (I had one) and also Ash bodied models in either sunburst or natural with RW or Maple boards! You'll see some on eBay if you search PB70, but beware of CITES if you want a Rosewood model when it comes to importing.
 5. Hmmm, I wonder if I can screen print my settings? I'll have to give that a go!
That's really good to know, especially as we seem to generally have a similar sound in mind. I was actually mailing bass direct earlier about moving some gear on in favour of getting one of these (and saving a significant amount of space at the same time!)
Yup we do! I am quite excited about trying out the Pearce Pre setting, as my favourite drive pedal is the EBS Sheehan Deluxe (Not that I am wanting to do the whole Sheehan thing mind, it's just the right sort of drive for my needs) - so it will be great if I can emulate the sound of that on board the Helix. Which seems like a fun thing to do as the Sheehan pedal was meant to be an emulation of his Pearce in the first place ha!
You've got an LT? How do you find it?
I've not really had a massive amount of time to set it up and have a proper play yet, but I am very pleased at how easy it is to create a patch. Having been using Positive Grid's BIAS FX and of course previously Line 6's own Pod Farm, i like the idea of a GUI where you can see the absolute signal path. Added FX to the chain is a breeze, assigning pedals to each effect (or multiples of effects) is a breeze and very handy. Signal routing is a must for me too, so I like the idea that I essentially have four different outputs to assign to what ever job I want as well as of course more than one input. The sounds are all brilliant and something had to give having been used to a mix of external pedals and 'hub' processor, I wanted more (drives etc) inside one box. The gigs I am doing now mean that I can rock up with one box, my IEM kit and a couple of basses and that's it. So it's looking promising!
 10.
It sold for £178 in the end.
I completely forgot to follow the auction! Oh well!
Rich Tone Music have the LT for £725. I've shopped online with them a few times and have been happy with the service. I got mine elsewhere when the price went really low and managed to bag a 24 months interest free credit to boot!!
13. In the absence of terminology, often finding a drum play through video can help. Thankfully on this occasion, Matt himself can demonstrate http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whUy9s7jeqE
 14. Ask Roqsolid to make you something! They're highly regarded here on BassChat!
 15. Another recommendation for http://www.custom-inearmonitors.co.uk/ - exemplary service. (EBS_F recommended them to me, thus I can recommend him too for his reliable recommendations having taken his recommendation... lol)

I guess it was inevitable given that so much effort went in to modelling all the different parts of his original and much loved Pearce pre-amp, but nevertheless I am very pleased it has happened!

 19.
Does anyone know if there is any difference between the BF Big Baby II and the FR800 other than the fact the FR800 has an amp built in, and if that's all it is, can you get a Big Baby II upgraded to an FR800? I ask because I'm about to change my rig and get a Helix. I was wondering whether or not to keep my amp (Tech Soundsystems Black Cat) and get a Big Baby II or sell the amp as well and go for an FR800. It's all about equipment sharing gigs where I might be expected to bring my own amp but not cab(s) and portability...
Tonally, the cabinets I understand have little difference, but I think the construction has to make way for the amplifier. I don't think they can be upgraded, but of course it'd be easy to get the information direct from BF who reply to mails quickly. For me anyway! In terms of having a 'system in a box', i'd go for the FR800 every time - budget limitations mean that I have a BB2 though. I have a Helix and would love a pair of FR's, it'd be such a great set up.
 20.
Ah!!
It's full name is FRFRWAMAPGTLOEMT. Full Range, Flat Response, well as much as possible given the limitations of even modern technology.
 21. and if I didn't still have certain cash flow issues then I would buy it back in an instant. Come to think of it, I wouldn't have had to sell it in the first place. A really super cabinet. Oh and Gilles is a top notch BCer, buy with confidence.
 22. I'll be checking this out later! - Strangely your link comes up with an empty playlist, but I went to your profile first and clicked on the playlist with the songs listed instead here: https://soundcloud.com/frannie01/sets/paul-gilbert-live-igf-2005 Riley is a killer drummer, I'm looking forward to hearing your performance!

 25.
I played 6 string guitar in bands form c1969 to c1985. The bass player couldn't make a gig so I stood in on bass guitar. I loved it so much that I immediately changed to bass and never played guitar on stage again. So, to me it's a great advantage being able to read a guitar player's fingers at a jam or when depping. I also know loads of chords and various shapes in all the positions right up the neck. It helps me a lot. I can also think like a guitarist when playing bass lines so I think that helps me to play with the guitarist in a creative way. Or something like that. Frank. Frank.
I've surprised quite a few people when I've done Deps; they have asked on the spot if I knew a particular song and my answer was no, but I can read the guitarist's hand anyway! It's a great skill to have
