That's a really interesting idea actually. A wrap around rather than a case. I'm looking at my 'board' to see if I can shrink the surface area (the LT is mounted to it and currently measure in the region of 720mmx420mm

In answer to the question I can tell you that the @Bergantino Audio B|Amp pairs with a whole host of amps and sounds great with them, though the onboard profiles mean that there's the extra magic that comes with selecting a Berg' cabinet to couple with the amp.

Helix LT would be too big for a laptop bag unfortunately, although a bag has been in my thoughts. What would be cool is one of those semi/flight hard foam cases that are used for guitars and keyboards but to the size of my pedal board. I think that would make a significant weight saving. The gigs we're going doesn't really require the need for a full touring flightcase. I wonder if there's anyone out there custom making those foam cases?

So a question related to the Helix LT.. I've invested in a superb flightcasse for my Helix, but I am finding that with my bad back, whilst it is all loaded up with my gear, it's proving a pain to move. If I can find a lightweight alternative system I'l sell the flight case off cheaply. My question is this.. what do I use instead?

Just got back from the gig, still buzzing so I thought I’d respond now. I can tell you the little squishy devices were awesome. I actually received 4 sets in the pack rather than 3, with one set being an ‘odd one out’ in opaque surgical silicone. They ended up being the most comfortable and my glasses stayed put all night without extra bands etc. I’ll see if I can find a picture of the add ons I used.

I have both, they are super cool but I tend to write my own TonePrints using the TonePrint app on my iPad. (USB connected). I can tell you that HG is great for Bass and I've found that I like being able to configure the three knobs to specific functions (not what the labels say they do, for example)

None at all! I change the screen mode so that it shows the 8 rectangles that label the 8 buttons (You can name them to what ever you want).

Funnily, I'd originally prefixed my post with a comment about 'bands that play weddings' and 'wedding bands' but I wondered if coupled with the rest of my post it were inflammatory, but yes that's kinda what I was getting at

The key is communication with the wedding party and venue and have a contract in place so that all parties know what is expected of them and when. That little bit of preparation goes along way to ensure everyone knows what they are doing, when to do it and have enough time to do it in - and at the same time to make sure no one changes the plan unexpectedly last minute. That extra work, the personal visit prior to the performance and a face to face meet is just another reason pro bands need to charge what they do. Furthermore, never, ever fosters off the wedding party... No drummer on my watch sits on their derrière doing nothing. I'm with Les on that one. Thankfully we have an amazing band where everyone wants to chip in and help unless there's a very good reason to not.

Has anyone tested the HPF on the MS? - (If I still had mine I would do that right now, but ... I don't anymore.)

I actually have to thank you for reminding me and that I am pleased to say that I am back to putting something together, though you'll be slightly shocked to hear that one of my TC's forgot it's settings the other day. This doesn't bode well as I need 100% reliability in some of the work I do. Ok, HPF - using a full band compressor as an example. - The threshold of a full band compressor is 'crossed' by the largest area of signal passing through the circuit. For us bassists, that's pretty much always the low end. One of the downsides to this is that the top end can end up being masked as the low end is pulled down in signal (the top end goes with it). If you are driving excessive low end (especially sub sonic frequencies) in to your compressor then these frequencies could be overwhelming the threshold. Or to put it another way, sounds you can't hear are actually limiting the output volume of the ones you do want to hear. * I'll add this before I get jumped on by the compressor police: Some full band compressors use a side-chain filter to remove low end in the sensing circuit to alleviate this problem. Multiband compressors do not suffer either, but in either case, removing frequencies that are not going to be of any use in the signal chain isn't such a bad idea. Think I'm off to buy an HPF..lol
