After Bridgehouse saves Rock n Roll with a Marshall, here is my own contribution. I sold my Rumble last year as we were mostly doing gigs with supplied backline, there is now some gigs on the horizon where we need to bring our own gear. So a good excuse to get something with a bit of oommph. As a long time Ashdown fan, I spotted this in GG so pulled the trigger. It`s an ABM 500 EVO 2 but I havent seen any heads this size. It is in what looks like an official Asdown head sleeve but all the heads I have seen are a good bit shorter without the vents at the ends. This style of head looks like the ones fitted to the EVO 2 combo. I might drop them a line and see if I can get any info. It looks like it has never been used and is almost mint and needless to say the wife had a bloomin fit when I plugged it into my ABM 2 x 10 cab and gave it a bit of welly. It`s heavy, large and I love it already! Just need the 8 x 10 now... The saviour of Rock N Roll part 2!

Price drop to £360. I have fitted the original bridge on the bass and it looks better. The hi mass bridge has left 4 very small indentations on the body which can only be seen when you tilt the bass into the light. They are so small, I can`t photograph them. Due to this, I will give you the hi mass bridge if you buy the bass and you can either fit it back on or punt it for cash. This price is a final price drop and if it doesnt sell at this price I will keep it. Collection preferred but if you want to arrange a courier, I will stick it in a hard case for protection and have someone here to hand to the courier. UK only and payment by bank transfer if it needs posting.

Somebody has a Sire P/J for sale for silly money in the classifieds: nudge, nudge, wink , wink! But of the 3 you have mentioned, I would go with the Yamaha BB 734. The neck is between a P and a J, active / passive 3 band eq and a rock solid neck with the fancy mitre joint. I don`t think they do an Electra in a P/J version? Never owned a Schecter so don`t know. I own a Sandberg and it`s fantastic and have owned a few Yammies, still have an BB 1024 and if I was buying without playing one first with your budget, I would buy the Yamaha.

Due to an expensive recent purchase I`m putting my Sire P7 up for sale only, no trade thanks. This is Version 2 with the new pickups, ebony board, matt finish on the back of the neck, gloss finish on the front of the headstock. The tuners have been changed to a brand new set of Schallers and the bridge barrels have been swapped for Wilkinson brass ones as I don`t like the look of the original ones which will be included. There is also a fresh set of D`addario strings fitted. It is fitted with the 18 volt pre amp which is a great bit of kit as the threads on here will confirm. The specs are below. It weighs 8.5 to 9 lb, it`s as near as I can tell from the Mrs scales. It`s a £460 bass new, this is as new with £60 worth of tuners and new strings thrown in. I would much prefer collection from Paisley just outside Glasgow, don`t mind driving a bit to meet up or I have a hard case which I can stick it in but you can arrange your own courier and I will make sure that someone is here to hand over. If you are wanting to do this, payment would have to be by bank transfer, UK only. Body Material: North American Alder Shape: Sire Precision Bass Type Neck Material: 1 Piece Hardmaple Shape: C-Shape Scale: 34” Neck Joint: 4 Bolt Steel Square Plate Fingerboard Material: Ebony Radius: 9.5” Frets: Medium, 20 Frets String Nut: Natural Bone 38mm width Binding: 1 ply Ivory Inlay: White Pearloid Block Electronics Pickups: Marcus Super Precision Advanced (Neck) + Jazz Advanced (Bridge) Preamp: Marcus Heritage- 3 with Middle Frequency Control Controls: Volume / Tone (Dual Pot) | Pickup Blender | Treble | Middle / Middle Frequency (Dual Pot) | Bass, Mini Toggle (Active / Passive) Knob: Modern Black Plastic Hardware Bridge: Heavy Mass Standard Tuning Gear: Sire Premium Open-Gear Hardware Finish: Chrome

This is now back up for sale as my G&L isn`t shifting. The new price is £370 which is a bargain. I would prefer collection but if you want to arrange your own courier, I have a hard case that I can stick it in and have it ready for collection. The bass would have to be paid for by bank transfer and UK only. Someone contacted me (sorry cant remember who) when I first put it up for sale asking about postage but I have deleted the message so I will give them 24 hours for first dibs on it. If I don`t hear from them by 7 30 pm on Friday, if someone else wants it, it`s yours. If whoever it was reads this, can you let me know if you are still interested?

I got mine in early December from Thomman so I don`t know if it`s from the "new" batch or not. The switch is the wrong way round and as I said on page 5, the gain light is a little strange. I have since used the head mainly as a headphone amp for home use. I plugged in my Nate Mendel P bass fitted with one of John`s wiring kits and a Tonerider pickup and the red light was on with the gain at a quarter whilst in passive mode. I had to switch into active mode and move the gain to just over half to get a decent volume out of it with the red gain light coming on slightly. I haven`t had a chance to give this thing a bit of volume yet as I stay in a flat but I am in the studio early next months and will kick it`s butt and see what happens. I can`t make my up mind up yet if it`s a good bit of kit with a strange to me gain/master volume circuit or a piece of crap

I have a P7 version 2 and the neck is really comfy. You should watch Marcus M`s YT clip he did at the Chicago music exchange (if I remember right) he explains the eq in particular the mids control which is the bit that had me a bit confused at first. Re the bridge. I kept the base plate but changed the barrel`s for Wilkinson brass ones and stuck on a set of Schaller tuners.

Just bought back my old BB from Tom that I sold him in June. So good to have the old girl back. Another easy, smooth sale with Tom, just what selling/buying on this forum is all about. Ta Gerry

JB 2 Tribute Jazz bass for sale only, no trades thanks. After promising myself not to buy any more basses, I have just bought back my old BB so I need to get some funds back in the bank. This is a bass with an identity problem. They call it their Jazz bass but as you can see it has an L series shaped body but with Jazz pickups But hey, it`s a cracking bass and there`s not too many about. The neck is 38 mm at the nut but the neck is slightly "chunkier", more of C shape, a bit more meat in the hand, still comfy though. Speaking of the nut, it has a new bone one fitted and had a recent set up by Strung out in Glasgow. It has a fresh set of D`Adarrio`s fitted. It also has the saddle lock bridge which is a great bit of kit itself, you set it up and lock the saddles in place using an allen bolt on the bottom edge of the bridge: rock solid. Weight is around 8.5 lb`s. Really good condition. Collection is preferred but see 3rd post re posting. Specs Swamp ash body Maple neck Radius: 12" Nut width: 38 mm Pickups: 2 G&L designed Vintage Alnico V Single Coils G&L designed Saddle-Lock Bridge 2 Volume knobs and 1 master tone knob

Don`t think it was a prototype as I have an ABM 2 x 10 mini, made in the UK that I cannot find any mention of except in the Gear4music website, which is where I bought it. The one I have has Celestion speakers rated at 300 watts and a strap type handle on the top. The one`s on the Ashdown website have Sica drivers and a recessed handle on the top. It seems that your ex cab and mine are from a secret stash that Ashdown released then erased from their history I seem to recall a 4 x 8 cab on the same advert for the same price?
