1. Speaking as someone who spent £50 on an Electro Harmonix big muff and £40 on a octave pedal to do some Muse tracks, I can say that when I play my Jazz through my Ashdown and the pedals, I sound absolutley nothing like CW. Is this good or bad? Jez
2. £105 for something that makes not a bit of differance! (Puts o Nike Airmax, runs in the direction of away). Jez
3. Dell monitor, 430mm from corner to corner, flatsceen, black in colour, works perfectly. Collection only from Paisley. Jez
4. Bit of advice. Find out what the singer can sing and work from there. No point in learning stuff and the singer knocks it back due to it being in the "wrong key". Having said that, it`s good to know some standard covers, the kind of which already been mentioned. Jez
5. I`ve mentioned this elsewhere on the site but there is a s/h one for sale in a Glasgow shop for £899 and it aint as nice as this. Have a bump for a cracking bass. Jez
6. You know something Steve, your dead right!! I am a muppet!! And I used to own one !! Dementia has set in early folks. Jez
7.
Any cheaper and it would be made out of... tupperware, c'mon! Click here!
Nah, they only sound like they are made from Tuppaware Jez
8. I usually play my latest purchase for around 3 gigs then go back to my P bass bitsa or VMJ. Recently it`s been my Status but tonight Mathew it will be the P with Status Half rounds with the Jazz as a backup. The Status will no doubt re-appear at some point. Jez
9. Why are you wanting shot of it Paul? It`s a really nice looking bass. I was looking at a black $$ in Strung out guitars this morning but it was £899 s/hand. Yaeh, £899 s/hand. Nice though. Jez
10. Just a shot in the dark but has anyone ever tried removing the pre amp and converting it to passive? I agree about the on off nature of the pre amp. It`s sometimes all or nothing but how would it sound passive? Or am I just being a muppett? Jez
11. Status do a round wound string that they smooth off so it looks like a flat but is a round. Really good strings, good value as well. In fact I`m popping over there the now.......... Jez Ps BE beat me too it!
12. If you are looking for a set of Gotoh tuners to fit the small diamater holes on a Jap Fender, here is a link. http://www.highlystrung.co.uk/acatalog/Got...ass_Guitar.html If you get the GB1N-4, they will fit the small size of holes if you know what I mean. I had a set that I bought for a VMJ but they were too small. I eventually moved them onto chrisd24 who put them on his Jazz. Might be worth sending him a pm regarding size as the website is pretty vauge regarding size. Regarding the larger diamater, as said earlier you cant go wrong with a set of Wilkinson tuners. Vintage style, long keys, £24 and they stay in tune! Got a set on a P and the VMJ. Great value. It`s the one`s available r/h and l/h at the top of the page, £6 each. 13. I think that unless you go for an OLP you will have a fruitless search. I had one of those Vintage ET96 I think it was called and it was a piece of kack. Looked ok from a distance but was a waste of money in the end. And it weighed a bloomin ton. As already said, save your money and get a SUB or an OLP. Jez
14. No I don`t claim to be an expert on Fender decals but Bigdecal were a US maker of Fender transfers who recently closed their site. You are quite right, it is against the rules to post about the price of goods that someone places on the marketplace and I will amend my post as I stated. If you feel that you need to report my post to the mods, go ahead. Jez
15. Hang on the noo, I gave one of my transfers to absolutpepper for the grand sum of nowt!! Right Chris, we will call it £25 and we will say no more about it! Jez
16. Post ammended by self to adhere to selling rules. Good luck with the sale! Jez
17. I have the article from Guitar and bass mag with some nice piccys. I can scan it and send it to ya if you pm me your e mail. Jez
18. Merchant City in Glasgow have 1 in stock for £259. Just clocked it on their site the noo. Who`s gonna go down and try it? Jez
19. Okay Munk, back away from the post, back away now!! Jez
20. Jokin aside Steve, it`s a really nice bass. It`s a unique shape and if it kicks ass, put me down for a shot! Jez
21. OMG how long before this one is up for a swap? Well, William Hill has quoted me the following odds: weekend 2/1 Monday 3/1 Tuuesday 5/1 1 month 100/1! Only kidding Steve. Mabye By the way, is that a body in that case? Jez
22.
Had my first proper practice tonight with the Sansamp and wow, through my practice amp, a Peavey TKO (or is it a TNT?) it sounded amazing. I wasn't even driving the amp hard but the sound filled the room. Just put the EQ on as flat as possible and used the amps volume controls. I totally underestimated the difference it would make. If you can try one out, you'll want one!
Why not put it into the effects return jack socket and all you are using the amp is for the power side only and the SA is doing all the tone shaping. That`s what I do and it`s the biz. Jez
23. I`m usually too busy breaking down the gear and if anyone wants to talk to me, I guide them to the "I love me" singer who buggers off and starts networking as he calls it. In other words, not helping with getting the gear put away. A couple of weeks ago, a girl, ugly and pissed (my favourite kind), tried to speak to me about something. The trouble was I was playing and doing backing vocals at the time. The bouncers came and dragged her away but not before she had managed to kick over a pint of orange. Jez
24. Aye, the Jag I had wasn`t up to much. It was quite heavy and buzzed like a bugger if you were near a lighting rig and had it in active mode. Didn`t sound that good either. Having said that, most people who have them seem to like em so mine must have been a "Kinyobi bass". That`s Japanese for friday. And watch that you don`t switch both pickups off. Jez
