1. I tried it a one gig a couple of years ago. I plugged into my Sansamp, used a Wharfdale powered monitor and put the sound through the pa. But I found that the sound from the amp was what I missed. I imagine that with good monitors, a good pa and a sound guy, it would be cool. But there was a good covers band that gigged around my area that had what I mentioned above and the guitar and bass sound was always crap. The drums sounded good though. There is another thought. If you have to drag a decent monitor around with you, would you not be better having a lightweight bass amp?

3. He is Rock n Roll! Very honest man and entertaining. A man who will go to the grave having lived his life. (Not that I`m suggesting he is about to pop his clogs )
4. I had recorded the bbc coverage and some of it was cringeworthy. Having said that, they have a certain swagger about them but Mick Taylor seemed, on occasion, to be on a different planet.
5. Mumford, Bellowhead, Noah and the whale.....Not my bag at all.
6.
This is just one example of how there's more to life than Fender, more to life than 4 strings and more to life than overweight big-handed male bassists. http://www.notreble....away-playalong/ CB
Nice playing and tone but that neck looks bloomin huge on her
7. I think that rather large scratch, the likes of which I have not seen on a bass before, would put people off as well as the high price.
8. If you go on the Fender website, they explain how to adjust the intonation.
9. I still see the old one.
10. £26! Where did you aquire this from? Looks like a decent bit of wood.
11. It works no problem. I did the same myself years ago due to staying in a top flat. Went down to B&Q and got them to cut the mdf to the correct size and glued and screwed it together. I meant to get some nice tolex for it but left it sprayed black.
12. No Jon Anderson, then it ain`t Yes.
13. Sadly the box has gone to the great council recycle tip in the sky......A long time ago.
14. I realise you may have some underlying problems with your wrist but may I suggest you try out one of the Pawn Shop Mustangs? Short scale, supremely comfortable neck, larger than an SR, more of a Jazz profile and an excellent humbucker pickup that kicks bottom.
15. Go for it! Sounds like a blast.
16. I was selling a bass through Gumtree and Dub Junkie bought it from me and recommended the site.
17. Jimmy Copley. Didnt he play in M3 with Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody? If it is the same guy, he is a top skinsman!!
18. I will buy this genuine Fender with my genuine £18 notes!
19. Andy Rourke: great player, end of. And for all you people who missed Mr Marr on Jools... http://youtu.be/u6INUp_uxMk
20. Welcome Yolanda. So nice to have another professional bass player on here to keep the rabble like myself right . Really loved your playing with Mr Weller especially on the clip below. http://youtu.be/iRRB-MS7gJY Lovely looking P bass as well. Do you still have it/use it?
21. I enjoyed Johnny Marr doing Big mouth. Fantastic guitarist, decent enough singer and a good performance.
22. Naw I think you did the right thing. The band I`m playing with at the mo aint going to well so I put out some feelers. I played with one of the bands who have been going for 10 years or so, and when the guy gave me the song list, I asked him if they played them in the same key and the same way as the recorded versions. Yes was the answer, so I cracked on. Come the night, I found out that on 3 of the 6 songs, they played them in a different key and some of them bore only a fleeting resemblance to the recorded version. No one explained the arrangements before hand and I ended up trying to catch on to what they were doing. This strikes me as un proffesional and I bailed out after the audition. The other bands either played songs I have no interest in playing (build me up buttercup anyone?) or were clearly not very experianced. So, you could say I am being picky or that I like playing with people who know how a band works and want to get enjoyment from the type of music I play.
23.
Or Noel's songwriting - I like the Sound of BE but they haven't got any actual 'songs'. Gem should join Noel's HFB anyway!
Agree with this totally.
