Picked up Simon's Mesa walkabout head on Friday. I asked if I could borrow a couple of cables, but he hadn't read the message & I forgot to mention them when I picked it up. He then read my message & drove to where I was practicing to drop them off for me! Another top transaction, deal with confidence folks

Just sold my Lakland DJ4 to Ben - the above comments about great communications & smooth transactions are exactly right. He asked a few (sensible) questions before agreeing to meet to make sure we weren't wasting each others time. Met halfway and was a pleasure to meet & chat with - could quite happily have sat there & chatted for hours, if I didn't have work to do! Enjoy the bass!

For sale, one rather beautiful Lakland DJ4 in Lake Placid Blue w/ Maple fretboard & matching headstock. I bought this off here about a month ago from Karlfer to try and get back into Jazz basses, but I just can't - I'm a P-bass guy & it looks like it's staying that way. If anything was going to convert me it would be this, as I love my Lakland Duck Dunn. This is a beautiful bass, but alas won't get a look in over my JV Squire P. From the original ad: Lakland DJ 4,Korean, 2007, before they switched to Indonesia. £650. Couple of little nicks on headstock, one near rear straplock. Rarer maple fretboard. I paid £650 inc. delivery, so I'm looking for the same - £650, delivered within the UK. It will come with a strap, and a Fender gig bag - has 2 busted zips but will be fine for shipping. Collection & trial welcome in Basingstoke. Local meetup/delivery may be possible too. Any questions please ask! More photos to come. Bought a Lakland Daryl Jones from Karl - once again excellent comms, the bass was packed well enough to survive being dropped into a war zone & is in fantastic condition, exactly as described. A pleasure!

Give me one reason - Trqcy Chapman. Cracking tune - I think Joe Bonamassa covers it in a bluesy way. Look Over Yonders Wall - again, Joe Bonamassa style but can be quite funky!

Do you/your band rehearse with full gigging set-up?
smaz replied to Lozz196's topic in General Discussion
I only ever take one cab, but the rest is as live as its all I have. I've considered getting a small combo for rehearsals. I think taking smaller gear & playing quieter is much better & more productive than taking stuff to make as much noise as possible, as you're then just fighting to hear each other & focussing more on the sound than the song, the parts & what you're playing. Once we've worked the majority out, then it's worth doing a full practice in a rehearsal room with all the equipment. It does my head in when I have to wait for others to set up & tweak their gear for ages.... -

So we've just been told there's no drum kit at the gig we're playing tonight & we're 4 hours away from home. Does anyone have a basic kit they can donate for the evening? We're playing at the Thirsty Scholar. We have cymbals / snare etc. PM me if you might be able to help! Cheers

Sold my Barefaced Midget to Mark, who came down to collect it - I think we spent 5 minutes looking at the cab, then almost an hour chatting about all things bass, music & blues! Hassle free, smooth transaction & top bloke - as above, deal with confidence! Cheers
