I came within a gnat's crotchet of buying a Rockinbetter yesterday. They had them in Fair Deal in Brum for 399. The black one i tried seemed to be a decent bass for the money.

This is why i buy all my guitars from charity shops

Watch Whiplash and transfer drums to bass. And remember to learn to duck a lot.

I needed a cheap back up bass as I shall be joining a band come the end of the week. I picked this up for 80 quid. Its a Squier Affinity P-Bass in midnight blue metallicky kind of colour. Made in Indonesia with a IC08 serial. It sounds and plays lovely for a cheapy and seems to have a substantial chuck of wood for a body. It still baffles me that Squier can make such amazing instruments at such a low cost.

I got the first issue. The quality of the pressing is wonderful. Bargain for a fiver.

I played an acoustic version of Ace of Spades on a radio session earlier this week. Not sure if it was a tribute or sacrilege tbh....

I use a Carlsbro Marlin X-150 through either a 4 x 12 or a 2 x 15. If I need a boost (and I rarely do!) I have a matching 150w power module to up it to 300w. Never had to use it and rarely get the X-150 past 12 o'clock....
