1. Tanglewoods are good for the dollar. I picked up a TRF Rosewood Reserve (solid sitka top, rosewood sides and back, mahogany neck maple bound) for a mere £60 second hand. I also have a electo Crossroads which is my live guitar and that was just north of a ton.
2. Duck Dunn in Blues Brothers. Double points for pipe.
3.
Fleetwood Mac were just so good but the band that usually gets forgotten when talking about British blues bands is Cream. When they started and for the first 3 or 4 months about 80% of their set was blues that anyone in the Deep South would have recognised. They started to change into the prototype rock blues band pretty quickly but from when they started to just before they recorded the first album they were the best blues band in the UK.
"Cream were a jazz band. We just didn't tell Eric Clapton" - Jack Bruce
4. Tell me about it. These are a really nice bunch of lads and a cracking band, Its not a common (or cheap) model so hopefully will surface somewhere. I have checked Gumtree, eBay and the various high street pawnbrokers but nothing so far.
5. It was at Coldrooms in Oxford (i think). Its the guitarist from The Shades (i am mates with the singer). The cctv was too indistinct to get any faces.
6. Did an impromptu set on a local radio show yesterday. As close as I have to a Christmas gig.

9. Kula Shaker at the Brum institute. Epic. Truly epic. The support act was fantastic too. Rudy Warman and the Heavy Weather. Check em out. They had an awesome bass sound.

12. I have a Laney 4 x 10 cab which sounds mental with bass.
13. Frank Turner in Oxford. The New Theatre is a sh*te venue but they made it amazing. Well worth a night out. The guy is a consumatw pro. And being a long term fan of Dive Dive helped to. I live Tarrant's bass playing....and you could actually hear it!
14. In my last band, I was running my Carlsboro X-150 into a 2x15 Kustom cab, or Bertha to his mates. This cab belonged to the guitarist and when the band finished, went back to his house. How I missed that cab..... Anyway, he messaged me earlier this week and as he was clearing old gear it, did I want it? She is tatty, weighs a ton and completely impractical. But hellfire does she roar.
15. My Jazz always ended up either on the floor or in the drumkit so nope, not precious. The bloody thing is indestructable.
16. I do the words to Turtle Power to the chords of I will Survive at solo acoustic gigs if that counts?
17. I had a T12. Single P style pickup and all in natural. It was a lovely thing that completely belied its 80 quid price tag
18. Necrobump! I bought an Olympic White VM Jag from Cash Converters last week for 145 notes. Fit and finish is spot on.
