Hi I am selling a set of Hofner strings these came on my brand new Beatles bass I am assuming they are 45-105 gauge I never used them as I changed them for my preferred gauge and brand they have red silks at both ends and are obviously cut for a short scale violin bass anyway a tenner posted via tracked courier

Hartke bass attack bought one and loved a few of the settings but I was a bit underwhelmed with it as the demos looked most awesome dont get me wrong it is a good pedal but I think there are many other pedals that work better for me and also a plus they are not as big as the Hartke but oddly I do miss it at times
TBH I've never been able to tell to any great degree if there's a massive difference with a high mass bridge, but if you want to hear what a bass SHOULD sound like, change your bbot for a Wilkinson item with brass saddles for around 12 squid. I've transformed a Precision and a Squier P/J and all the rich warm tones are suddenly there in abundance.
Agreed Wilkinson bridges are good But I think that there must be some kind of black magic involved with Hi Mass bridges and short scale basses the improvement is vast I am so impressed I just ordered another 201 for my other shorty lol
I've bought a couple of basses and other bits from BD in the past. Been watching this thread, and debating whether to share my tale or not. Wanted to sell a bass last year, and arranged a commission sale through the shop. Told I could get it back at any time, just pay the return postage. Fine. I left it in the shop for quite some time - it was priced too high IMHO - and wasn't shifting. Asked about getting it back, but was reassured enough to leave it for longer, which I did. Anyway, more time goes on, and I spoke to Mark about reducing the price, which he never did after I asked him to. Upshot was, I eventually rang the shop and asked for the bass to be returned. Chap I spoke to was great, no problem, and we began to arrange details. However, with the chap in mid-flow, Mark grabs the phone and begins to give me a rather angry telling off for wanting my bass back! How I was wrong, unethical, etc. This was after no interest, and a reluctance/refusal to reduce the price. Even his employee seemed a bit shocked. After what I've read here, I wasn't too surprised - but sadly, after previous successful purchases, it left a rather sour taste - and I would now shop elsewhere.
Wow that is a shocking story

Hi all I always thought that Hi Mass bridges were a load of nonsense after trying a few such as Badass 2, Gotoh and some generic models on different basses in the past and not really noticing any real difference but here is were I find it interesting I have switched to short scale basses and I thought I would tart one of them up a bit so I bought a Gotoh 201B bridge from this very forum and stuck it on the bass and I find that the bass has much more clarity and sustain than it did before which surprised me as I had never noticed any difference on a long scale bass anyone else noticed this? or could it be a placebo effect?

I met Mark at an event and I felt that I did not really gel with him and his general attitude put me off going to BD maybe I got it wrong and he is a really nice guy
