  1. It says: This setting affects the number of new lines the user can create in a signature. A long line of text will automatically break (the point at which the text breaks depends on the width of the user's browser that is viewing the signature), and this is not affected by this setting.
  2. OK I have set a limit of one image, 468x60. Two links and three lines of text. I'm not sure if it applies retrospectively but let me know - otherwise it'll be new members only...
  3. I believe there’s a setting to limit signatures now so I’ll take a look. Any suggestions as to the maximum image size and number of lines? Images resize to fit the width I think so height is the most critical
  4. Looks great with the lighter colour body.
  5. They don’t do steels in the 40-95 size so I’ve never used them but been using the nickels for years. The set on my Vigier are probably more than two years old and still sound fresh
  6. Ha there you go, shows you how much I know! Thanks!!
  7. I don't think it's possible, unless I ban you from Off Topic, which might do it. If I can work out how to do that.
  8. I don't know what's going on
  9. Doctor, stick some reverb on that bing! Can we change the waveform?
  10. Ah ok thanks so like the Kala then. I guess I’m thinking more of steel stringed magnetic pickup minis rather than ukulele derived versions although they’re fun in a similar way 👍🏼 I have a fretless Harley Benton uke which is nice for noodling but it doesn’t ‘feel’ like a bass
  11. I was just about to say, I actually spent about 30 mins looking for a roll of electrical tape that I was going to cut into strips and use to cover the spikes... then I sat there and thought 'hold on there's got to be a neater solution' when I realised I could just snip them more!!
  12. I often wonder why someone doesn't make a 'cover' which could snap over the end.
  13. Yes, it is with a headless design anyway... just pass the string through the clamp, activate the clamp and cut off the excess. I used the next heaviest gauge up to my normal set on a 34" (so 45-105 instead of 40-100). After some experimentation I found I preferred to use a 4 string set with a high C (32). To avoid the spiky string ends, once I clamp and chop I remove the string from the clamp again and chop off nearer to the actual part of the string which is held by the grub screw so once put back in and tightened the ends don't come out of the clamp. I don't think I've ever used the word clamp so much but I quite like it. clamp clamp clamp.
  14. Ah yes I did see that - sliding pickup, cool! IIRC the scale was about 20"? Love the look of your bass by the way, assuming it was the one advertised here.
  15. I much prefer the 70s spacing myself, you might also find a manufacturer who makes a rear pickup that can do both settings (I know Sadowsky do one) but then things start getting complicated!! I'd say that the rear pickup being nearer the bridge might give your overdriven sound a bit more 'bite' and definition... sounds like an afternoon on YouTube for you, sir.
  16. Just click ‘Edit’ on your first post and modify the title, or ‘report’ the post with the little flag icon or report text in the corner and someone will lock it. Moving sold items to another forum - as you have just shown it’s hard enough to get people to mark items as sold - plus a mod would have to move the posts and that could become quite a task. Also it wouldn’t help our Google rankings. The search index works very well now - although it’s a little fiddly (but getting better with each update) - perhaps go to the advanced search and make sure you select the right filters! Cheers
  17. On a 70s the rear pickup is in line with the tone control. I find it really weird how most jazz makers don’t mention the spacing (it’s not always easy to tell is the bass has non standard controls etc) Its the single biggest thing you can do to influence the sound!
  18. 60s or 70s spacing?
  19. Your moustache muffles everything
  20. Nicely done, congrats to new owner
  21. I don't see any reason to lock - Scott is a lovely bloke and a bass playing legend - if you're sick of his ads then it's your fault for being on the internet! lol! (Not aimed at anyone specifically) I welcome bass related adverts of any type, especially compared to the new breed of 'in it together' type TV ads for other stuff. Cheers
  22. I’ve got Kala down although they only partly fit the brief... who are KAM? Any links?
  23. This video is my favourite way to show what a Smith sounds like. Some really tasty grooves This is a lovely looking bass - and a cracking price!!!
  24. That looks great - apt username too!
