2. my crappy unnamed 40w practice combo takes the low a on my squier with loads of od on so the ampeg should handle it no problem at all andy
 3. well what your getting is a hint of overdrive, what i will say and im guilty of this is when you have a good sound on your own or "design an od at home it sadly does normally get lost in a band mix, i try and find a hole for the distorted bass to fit in. im also insanely luck in having a guitarist that is willing to work with me to make space for each other. also ive been surprised sometimes as i think ive got lost listen to a recording and my bass sound fit really well. but from your clip something low gain maybe even something like what you have the behringer set to have no impact or change sound but just with a small gain boost, i did this before i got my overdrive pedal to push the amp a tad, or in your case the pre amp. andy
 4.
After getting a woefully wrong eye test from Spoecsavers I wouldn't trust them to fit me for socks never mind hearing protection!
if its like boots they simply let a rep from say acs use a room in there shop andy
 5.
I'd love to know how a loose strap pin is going to effect the Jack socket???
i think its just loose enough to rip someone off
 6. i thought about trying to find a white with tort to match my mody, i just cant believe the quality! andy
 7. seriously is the guy who did this in a shop! name and shame id say andy
 8. my main overdrive is the mesa flux drive, but def used to love stacking od pedals the mesa and the odb-3 actually sound gd together andy
 9.
I recommend that before doing this on a gig, you check that there is no loss of bass, which could happen if the speakers end up out of phase.
this is a very gd idea actually! its easy to sort if there is, ie i think radial do an amp switcher which is pretty easy and can sort those problems.
 10. sold alex a proco rat awesome guy to deal with and would happily do it again! andy
 11. bought from a fellow basschatter, for tbh a measly amount of money as something to support and use as a backup to my modulus. well got it today and the thing for one is immaculate! looks new! played it as i do always when i try basses unplugged first, it a weird thing ive picked up like to hear how it sounds on its own as if it sounds gd there will sound gd plugged in. well it sounds amazing plugged in and as i tune A-D-G-C-F it sounds like thors hammers smashing into some nails! gnarly as f*&k! and after playing with setting and pickup blends it can get near to a b3k darkglass kinda sound using my current distortion setup. also why we on setting, i must admit the pickups are crazy! duncan designed but the output is not so dif from my mody which is an 18v pre amp and a sd basslines pickup in it. this bass is going to get a bit of a facelift by fitting all black hardware (already have a replacement control panel on its way) hoping i can find a like for like replacement for the bridge however may have to find a badass V. also toying with the idea of getting a detuner for some stupid fun! but all in all awesome bass! and for a mighty lot less than a fender version! 12. not interested in a kidney are you? those things are sick! good luck with the sale! andy
 13. bought a vm squier 5er from chris, awesome guy, deal with confidence! andy
 14. you almost have to much choice now! andy
 15.
If the mould is an accurate impression of the ear canal it should fit nice and tight. If they are falling out its my guess that something may have possibly gone wrong when the impression was being made. A properly moulded plug should not be prone to falling out IMO.
oh no im talking about the trees! my in ear moulds dnt budge there awesome! andy
 16.
but the custom fit moulds offer a much safer option when it comes to protection IMO and IME. I had been using the xmas trees for a couple of years thinking that I was protecting my hearing. However subsequent to developing tinnitus and a visit to an audiologist, who had a good giggle when I produced my xmas trees, i had no hesitation in opting for moulded plugs. The difference is night and day.
my problem was that they always fell out! a right pain if only one goes!
 17.
I did have the gain down lower and the master up higher to achieve the same overall volume and the clip light was still flickering. Anyway, from what I can gather, most folk seem to basically ignore the clip light! Need to play about more with the gain and see what it does to the tone. It obviously doesn't function anything like a normal gain, in that you can have it off completely and still have a signal based purely on the master volume.
that is weird andy
 18.
I'm minded that all the cab is adding up the signal is an eq curve.
this is true but trying to get that eq will be harder than sticking a mic infront. andy
 19.
I've heard this pedal can alter the mid range quite a bit and that makes me a tad skeptical, I am tempted though with it, how much would postage inc be?
depends where peeps are but next day postage with tracking seem to be around a 8-10 quid andy
 20.
Isn't that what the Drive control is for?
yeh just wondering as he has that turned off, but the gain pretty high andy
 21. with your gain set hi as above with a hot bass, could be the reason. however are you using the gain hi to get some grind? andy
 22.
I woulnt go so far as to say the Aguilar is completely reliable. Ive seen a few issues crop up with them from time to time. But either the 750 or 751 are great options.
i had the output transformer fail on my old 750, however no smoke or panic like the ampeg i had, and was offered a new replacement 750 as said amp was sent back to the states to be tested as they hadnt had the fault before! andy
