1. will see what i can find when i get paid, thanks andy
 2. the dunlops seem to be a perfect gauge for this tuning nice bit of give but not at all floppy on the low A, did however need to increase the size of the string hole in the bridge on the low string. all in all very happy didnt even need to adjust anything on the bass, must admit i do love the modulus for that! andy
 3. i normally run post so the sound man gets my sound to work with andy
 4. glad to help
 5. the mooer shimverbs not a bad little reverb for the money, should be able to get you close to the tone in the vid andy
 6. just been checking out a few of the sennheiser e609 and e602 on there site and a few youtube vids, both sounding really nice just got a question about there sensitivity the 609 being more aimed at guitar only goes down to 40hz while the the 602 being more of a typical bass and kick mic goes down to 20hz both go up to the same high ranges near enough, so what im wondering is as i tune to A standard ( A-D-G-C) am i better of getting 602? suppose i could just use the di to get the lows and mix in the 609 for the high? andy
 7.
Mmm me too Should get on very well then. Enjoy!!
sweet! looks like ill hopefully be getting a 5er in the new year might even play around and grab a dtuner because A isnt low enough!
 8. i use rotosound 105-45 for d standard and drop c at the min, they are roundwound never played flats, i know my strings are a tad slacker than some would like but they hold up really well. i say atm as im going to a standard tuning from next month andy
 9.
+1. This is exactly what I have found with the ones I have used.
same here, valves amps like being pushed but ss due to the nature i suppose dnt, but then thats why you see the massive 1000w ss amps like my terror seriously never gonna get that thing past 9 o clock on the main volume. also ill take those unwanted heads of your hands for free so your not worrying ;-) andy
 10.
Just realised something. The Hartke has 2 jack sockets. 1 for passive basses & 1 for active basses. Would I therefore put the pre amp out feed in via the active jack? As to the Ampeg going doolally, I'd just plug the bass into the Hartke. I'd also use a DI pre any pre amp or amplifier(Assumed this is standare practice when using BIG bass rigs.).
honestly bud i dnt know, its only a -10db pad so doubt it will make a difference other than obviously one being quieter. on the di thing it varies i normally go post eq, and am sorting out a way of micing myself (but thats another thread) andy
 11.
That sounds cool! Just to double check, I assume that an instrument cable will do to connect the two heads?
yeh as its just guitar signal going thru it, for me tho id do the split thing as if something happened to the pf you'd lose all sound, hell if you could even by a y cable and it no more pedals required andy
 12. just a little update, grabbed my self a behringer rack eq today, its has a built in high pass so nothing below 25hz will go into the amp, cost 51 quid from evilbay. well worth a look if say you dnt have the money for a thumpinator. also the boss limiter works really well am staying well away from the enhance knob tho, but levels all the spikes out plus will give a nice little boost after all my pedals once my nice shiney pedal from tom at cog effects comes next year! andy
 13. just grabbed a behringer dual channel 15w eq for 51 quid on ebay, ive had a comp from them before and there rack gear is pretty sturdy and well made. also has a high pass filter built in so u can cut of any signal below 25hz so its also saved me from getting a sfx thumpinator, so bargain id say andy
 14. yeh sounds like it be fine, basically like taking a line out so both heads get the same signal, or you could just split your signal before you enter the head at all using something like a lehle or a boss ls-2 andy
 15. the epi's are really good value used to have one awesome bass andy
 16.
e609 I'd say.
been looking at a few youtube videos and these are beating the sm57 for me so gonna look in to grabbing one of these
 17.
Its arrived!! Delivered to work, now i just have to get it home. On my bike. err... Should be ok as long as its stopped raining! Came with a bag and everything, which is handy. Initial impressions, tuned and plugged into the office bass amp (i work at an IT company. The music kit is next to the giant scalextric) and sounds pretty thuddy! Hurrah!
wait you have a scalextric in work! i have clearly gone down the wrong path! love the look of v's there actually very comfy to play sitting down and of course you can pull some very rock poses ;-) looks pretty bloody decent for the money andy
 18.
Can of worms! I like large diaphragm mics like shure beta 52 or sennheiser e602. But. If you're looking to just catch top end distortion etc then a shure sm57 or sennheiser e609 will be fine.
i know right, cool thanks will look into a those, yeh just looking to get a truer representation on the fuzz and high distortion etc andy
 19.
Andy, apologies if my reply seemed flippant, but, you've had a few good replies all suggesting that what you propose isn't worth doing. However,if you really want to present your stage sound through a mic into a cheap mixer then off to the P.A the go for it. After many years micing and D.Iing bass cabs for clients I can honestly say I get 90%of what we all need from the D.I regardless of the quality of the bass amp and cab. I think most bassists working larger stages accept their sound will be altered to fit the mix in what particular context the band are appearing. (As are guitar amps despite what you think),and that their personal backline will not be heard by the audience. If you sincerely believe your backline tone is that good, then go for it. MM
apologies if mine was to, i know alot of things need to be changed ie venue specific etc just looking to get the sound i want across maybe a wasted experiment but if i get what i need then it'll be gd work for me. also im not saying my tone is amazing and how dare some one change it. will try and get the best mixer that i can afford, any tips on the mic's? andy
 20.
Go ahead, you know best.
would appear you think the opposite. i want to try it at least, was looking for advice to see if there was a better way or if i was thinking along the right lines with my idea. andy
 21.
I give up.
im trying to get the sound of my amp and cab and being told to basically ignore that is a bit weird imo. ive actually had a chat with a few sound guys and a gal that a friend of mine knows and all have said that they wouldnt have a problem with what im proposing and have said that if it didnt cause feedback then there wouldnt be a problem. the signal wnt be a bad one as the mixer i was looking into is about 200 quid new, obviously wnt pay that. andy
 22. dnt get me wrong i love pedals but ive paid probs like £1000 without including the bass to get to where i am kinda dnt want a £80 di box like a sansamp. would be up for trying the emulated cab, to see if it helped but id run into it with a di not inbetween cab and speaker. not meaning to sound angry or rude btw.
 23.
Glad you got it back...No I am OK for now thanks
no problem dude! all buyers please note ill be sending these buy recorded delivery so you'll be able to track the pedal!
 24.
Is the Rat the one that got lost in the post when I bought it before? if it is glad it turned up for you
indeed had to hassle royal mail f&*k knows what happened but it just turned up with a return to sender sticker on it. did you sort yourself out with a rat or did you want to dare try again?
