1. mmm nice, the back of the neck just looks really clean
2.
How about the Behringer BX4500H Ultrabass head? I play punk, rock & metal and use this amp regularly - it's a good & cheap amp. There's a 'shape' function that is just great for sitting the bass in amongst the metal guitarists! See a link for a price HERE
Nonononononononono! I'm glad you like it matey, but i've had behringer gear before, and that's a route i'm not going down again! Rather have my ashdown Appreciate the advice though
3. Yeah, i expected somebody to do that, really.
4.
No I can garantee it aint that one
Hahahaha, fair play mate, nice one!!
5. I had a 10W BB blaster guitar amp (i dont have any pics of this) Then a 15W "fat rat" bass amp Then a 120W behringer combo Then an ampeg BA115 And now i have my ashdown EB180 stack with MAG 115 and 210T cabs I also got an ashdown Perfect ten for practice at my mum's house I'm after a new head though i think... edit for pics
6. Wow, that's gorgeous, definitely one of the nicest singlecuts i've ever seen! That top is stunning, and good choice on the pickups Glad you're enjoying it, worth the wait? Oh and hows about some pics of the back?
7. Someone on the EBMM boards did two recordings of a sterling, one with a rosewood board and the other with a maple board (this was the same bass, just switched necks and same control settings) and the difference was VERY subtle. As for H vs HH, totally different beasts, according to everyone on the EBMM boards.
8. Changed the battery?
9. I'll go like second or third or something? I'm currently reading hitch hikers guide (onto book 4 now) and guy pratt, my bass and other animals and i wouldn't want to keep you guys waiting ages
10. Bring what you want, i'm sure some people wouldn't mind a go on a USA precision!
11.
mine is just as nice....!
Yours is nicer!!!!!
12. I use seymour duncan pickups in one of my musicman basses and they sound aweome. I can't stand barts, they sound too polite, you might as well buy a jazz bass.
13. Long reach, already looked there. Thanks for the link, but the long reach jack on my tobias touched one of the pots and probably would on my 'wick, see my problem now? Who wants 'long reach' jacks? nobody, absolutely nobody... (not aimed at you, aimed at goddamn jack amufacturers) who uses extra long jack plugs??!!!!!!!
14.
Funny how approx 80% of BCers seem to end up with Jazz basses.I shall continue to resist.
Yep, had an active jazz... wasn;t that impressed, horses for courses though, or whatever
15. The mark hoppus sig is a jazz bass with a precision neck... EDIT: beaten to it, it's a common thing though... i don't see how it would make any difference aside from being wider, it would still sound and look like a jazz bass.
16. Turn the master volume on your bass down.
17. I need to replace a barrel jack on one of my basses, and i can't find anywhere that sells decent ones. AxesRus don't sell them, Allparts do but the ones they sell are extra long, which i don't want. I need a regular length (a la warwick) switchcraft or neutrik one, can anybody help? I hate barrel jacks!!! HATE HATE HATE Cheers
18. Any sort of ballpark price you have in mind?
19. Just thought i'd bump this up for anybody who hasn't already seen it
20. It seems not many people use their gig bags to put their basses in! Mine is currently empty, but it's usually: Bass Tuner Spare batteries masking tape Pedals Leads (LOTS of spare leads) Straps Sometimes a small mixing desk fast fret Lemon oil (makes the back of the neck nice and slick) Cleaning cloth Deodorant (important) keys set lists pen and paper Cds and mp3 player occasioanally power leads Screwdrivers Allen keys ear plugs Spare strings and picks if i'm using my guitar, i don't bother if i'm playing bass though. I have noticed bassists tend to bring the most amount of crap though, i never end up using most of it!
21. Hmm, all good ideas, i was thinking about a sansamp
22. wow yeah, that is cheap!
23. why DID those old fenders have strap pegs on the back of the headstocks? I never got that...
