1.
I must admit - he was grinding on me a bit at the start, but he seems like a really nice guy! Great advice too
I'm pretty sure he's endorsed by orange or works for them or something, i've seen some of his other videos, he knows his stuff.
2.
+1 for the low-end! I think I'd be totally unworthy of anything too nice - what would I do with it? Play it in the pub?
Nothing wrong with that, you might as well get the best you can reasonably afford to buy! Plus, the new t-birds do look REALLY nice!
3. i would think that's what they meant.... i always thought those blackhawk streamers looked pretty cool, but the fact that they're in such a cheap beginner pack put me off a bit...
4. what are the body woods? is it one solid wood or laminates? any pics of the back?
5. this still for sale? could be interested
6.
MAG 600 also, f***ed output upon arrival. This was when they had trouble with China QC. Can I ask what happened to yours? I've had no problems except general wear and tear with the ABM gear though but that counts for nothing to those on the bandwagon
The output on my EB180 blew too, although this was actually british made.... The ABM gear is great though
7.
I'm no psychic, but I'm guessing we're gonna see a fair amount of 'Ashdown' here.... I'll start. Ashdown MAG 600H. Lasted ONE rehearsal.
My ashdown EB180 blew up a couple of months ago, though it lasted considerably long than yours! It's currently sat in my bedroom doing nothing. A behringer pedal broke on me once, but i'm not exactly surprised....
8. christ, i just realised how different jacoby shaddix looks now!
9. You can even have a good read while you're playing. It's not really 'mint', is it? Have a good look at the pics, you'll see what i'm talking about. linky
10.
I get a feeling that the OP is just looking for a reaction now. Skin Colour, Fieldy, now a legitimate bass player criticised. I'm waiting on the Jaco/Wooten sucks thread from him any day now.
i think troll is the word you're looking for, and i agree.
11. i love papa roach, they're great seen them live twice, can't say a bad word about them live. And i can hear his bass all the way through, you seriously need to listen harder nice bass sound it is too
12. trade for a $$ 4 string?
13. looking forward to pics, any idea of a ballpark price? i have no idea really. I have a sansamp para driver up for trade or some cash, either way.
14. gotoh are good and reasonably cheap.
15. lighter guage most likely, i play in drop tunings a lot so my strings are generally pretty low tension, you can get a lot of rattle though.
16. i think korn are ok, and i STILL think fieldy is awful. Get a real bassist.
17. my corvette has a series/parallel switch, i forget which is which but one of them does sound a lot growlier and does have a higher output. I think it's series as i recall someone telling me that it's not the way MM pickups are wired.
18. i'm not sure if the SS1's got the fat necks, as they are neck thru and fairly stable, but i've never played one so i don't know. I do know that all of the bolt on models have the same necks though, so i'd imagine they're referring to that if the profile on the NT models isn't the same
19. hi mate, would you be interested in a trade with a corvette $$ 4 string? i'm thinking about moving to a 5er...
20. bought another load of cds, can't really elaborate on my last post!
21.
changing the shape of the neck and shrinking the size of the rockbass logo on the RB basses... whatever next ?
shrinking the size? more like doing away with and replacing with a warwick logo in fairness i would like one of the new rockbasses, whenever they decide to release them this decade
22. i know john paul jones used to play them, but my god that's ugly.
23. i might come if i can figure out a way to get there....
