1. good to hear ^ i'm wondering how warwick finish their natural basses... i know you have to wax them often, but they turn out very nice indeed. Personally i love the finish on my $$, you can tell that there's a finish there, but it's not glossy and you canj feel the grain through it (Yes i know not to wax a coloured 'wick finish, for any 'wick lovers reading)
2.
Actually they probably don't! They've got two forum-loads of rabid Rick-owners to do it for them! They might send the occasional C&D letter to US-based importers of dodgy Chinese knock-offs but The Rickenfaithful do most of the legwork. However, the web & Ebay have made Rick copies that much more visible, and therefore the activity in shutting down sales is similarly higher in profile - as dictated by the requirements of US trademark law. Luke - that's a Westone Thunder, de-fretted so not getting the money he wants. I think it started at £200-ish; if it gets to £50 I might have a punt... J.
I've never understood that and i never will. The people listing these rickenfakers aren't doing anything wrong so long as they don't actually try and pass it off as a rick, so what's the problem?
3. strangely, that's one of the only musicman basses i'm not that interested in, it's pretty, it's not not REALLY a musicman is it. In fact only musicman i'm interested in these days is the sterling
4. nobody? this will be going on ebay soon if nobody is interested.
5. nice, i think the gold hardware suits it better
6. amongst other things, yes
7. Your link didn't seem to work, this should Interesting bass, never seen one with barts before, particularly the MM pickup, or that colour hardware... nice though
8.
This is one reason for viewing the item late at night, while bored sh*tless. To pass the time, you read the explanatory text, instead of just looking at the pretty pictures.
Plus, i was absolutely trashed, i'm surprised i could even see the keyboard
9. i was wondering where he had gotten to, hope he gets well soon
10. interesting rig, the colours make me want to puke but it's potentially pretty nice sounding. Am i the only one that doesn't see a 4x10?
11. really? and that still warrants it as 'mint'? according to the seller it does..... i guess we have two (me and the seller) different opinions of 'mint'. Although one is right and one is oh so horribly wrong.
12.
Another little pic to add... right that's the geekish soldering / non-photogenic side of the amp almost complete. Hopefully will have some pics of the interesting bits after today
lots of tubes soon?
13.
You're welcome to a lift, provided i can have a play on my old $$!
Definitely So yeah, put me on the list with the corvette $$
14. i dunno, i remember them saying that they weren't going to be changing the website after someone suggested the layout was a bit out of date, although how that translates to updating prices etc i'm not sure. I'll tell you what though, if they're interested in keeping their good rep, i'm sure they'd explain it to you if you asked them about it. They sound like an approachable bunch of guys from what i've heard. Just ring them up and ask, can't hurt.
15. thanks guys
16. cheers i thought i'd sent you a pm but it turns out i hadn't pm'd
17.
It's usually the other way around - maple necks tend to be lacquered and need the fingerboard refinishing after a refret.
i would have thought that too...
18. i feel bumping it may have been a mistake on my part
19. i may be able to catch the train, but it looks as if it's going to be pretty pricey....
20. not sure i can make it mate, i have no idea how to get there, if i can find a way then i'd love to and yeah, it's his if he wants it ^ i've posted it for sale in the effects section now though, there's a bass or two i have my eye on
21. wanna bet? Worth watching to the music, trust me
22. i once varnished a bass it was a stagg bass that i paid £10 for though haha, not a USA tobias!! Floor varnish came out a treat though I at least did a better job than the halfwit that did this!
23. thanks, i could potentially be interested in this... not entirely sure yet Oh and are you sure that board is rosewood? kinda looks like wenge from the pictures
24. i bought this recently and it's not really my cup of tea, my amp sounds just fine as it is. It's pretty much brand new, no blemishes to speak of. Asking what i paid, £100 posted no offers Basically it's the same as the bass driver DI but with a sweepable mid, so i won't go into detail, you all know what this is. here's a photo with some other pedals, the morley wah could be for sale too, feel free to make me an offer on that. Now on ebay If any BCers want it, i'll end the auction for 100 posted like advertised on here, so long as it has no bids
25.
I asked him (couldn't resist it). Let's see if he replies...
So did i, seems he's a little touchy hah
