1. Mike gave me a rack light and shelf.Top condition too. Really nice generous guy. Thanks again Mike. Hope I can return the favour one day. Cheers Dunc
2. Do these come with rack ears?
3. We don't really know the true value of the violins he made himself. He may well have modified the one's that he bought too. He could be Japan's version of "He Who Cannot be Named" from this very forum! That may well explain why his wife finally snapped and trashed the lot!
4. Alas, no cash and I need a spare P bass...
5.
I'll add another recommendation for a Kiogon wiring kit. I've got two now and they're top quality stuff.
+1
6. Any other bands on the bill that night?
7.
I think they send you the money via PayPal. Their 'courier' or 'friend' turn up to collect. They always want to arrange their own courier. The good are collected then they file a not received claim via PayPal and you have no proof of posting or a signature on delivery. PayPal pay out every time!!! You lose. No money. No goods.
Had a similar experience on ebay. I sold something. Sent it via my insured courier. Courier delivered it and got a signature from the address. Buyer said he hadn't received it. Ebay ruled in buyers favour as I could not prove it was the buyer who actually signed for and received the item (although proof of delivery, the right signature and address was supplied to me and paypal via photo). Buyer got the money back and item. I could not claim on the insurance either as they had proof of delivery... Do not use paypal unless you trust the buyer or seller.
8. I wouldn't follow the paypal link either...
9. If only it was white with a maple board... GLWTS Karl!
10. Obviously a nobeeed then!
11. Shreikback did some great stuff. Not punk as such but born in the early eighties. Personal favourite is My Spine is the Bassline - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m8bq7fb7o2g Care and Oil and Gold albums are well worth a listen.
12. Obviously, someone bought it ... Really quickly!
13. I'm sure this was on eBay about 4 years ago for a grand? I think the seller said they were a mighty mite outlet?
14. http://www.bass-guitar-museum.com/bass-3340-Gretsch-G2202-Electromatic-Junior-Jet-Bass-Guitar One of these?
15. Had someone many years ago trying to talk to me onstage. Turns out he was a bass player in a so called "rival band". As I leaned over to hear him he went to hit me. Before I could react, my brother (who did a bit of security work for us at the time), took him out with a full blown shoulder charge. Really funny. It was like a comedy sketch watching it. The lad spent the rest of the gig on the dance floor wandering about aimlessly. I don't think he knew where he was!
16. Welcome! Another JV P man too! Good luck
17. Someone after a Roland kit, don't know if you have seen it http://basschat.co.uk/topic/306651-electronic-drum-kit/
18. Even the Mrs hasn't come to terms with that one yet!
19.
One of my favourites for many years is Warhead by the UK Subs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pO_EqziS1g I have always loved it's prominence in the track and it's quite easy to play!
Subs Warhead and Public Image by Public Image are two great basslines. Transmission and Shadowplay by the Joy Division are classic simple but brilliant basslines too!
20. I once had to play it at an outside party where loads of singers, guitarists and drummers turned up but no other bass players! In my defence, I didn't know the notes and the guitarist had to shout them out to me! Who'da thewt thad eh?
21. What does it really matter to anyone anyway? What if someone chose to remove a Fender decal on a 73 Jazz and replace it with an Argos decal? I'm sure folk have done worse. Does it really matter? That would be their business, their bass and nobody else's anyway. Perhaps, some folk feel they need to "look" like they have a "real" Fender due to feeling others belittle their "lesser" bass? Snobbery and naivity are two different things after all. As long as it's not to defraud, what's the problem?
22. Great Combos! Sound immense! Sorely tempted! GLWTS.
23.
Well that's good, at least noones getting ripped off today. The seller has sold a few guitars so can't claim ignorance.
A lot of sellers end their listing like that when someone has made a cash offer and so avoid the fees...
24. I used to use one on one song. It enabled me to tap on a particular song that sounded far better with an open C. It would have been impossible to play without a capo.
