1.
Are any other northerners reading this, thinking "fingerless gloves?! It's got to be -50 before I put a jumper on!!"
Shorts, T-shirt and an extra flat cap serves me well.
 2. Bought some IEM's off Danny. Exactly as described and fast safe postage. Thanks for a good transaction Danny. Cheers Dunc
 3. When pic 6 is enlarged, where it's chipped (although it's hard to tell as it's pixelated when enlarged). It does look like there's a darker coat underneath. Yet again, just to make things harder, I believe that Fender often painted over other finishes!
 4. I've seen a Shergold with crackling like that. I still can't help thinking it's has some sort of refinish over it though.
 5. Had a look at the finish close up and it does indeed look like crackling. The pic showing the neck plate enlarged is the best one for me to see it.
 6.
Thanks for the heads up - I'll do a bit more reading! I'm in no rush - have to shift some gear first, too.
Oh no! What am I going to buy now!
 7.
Based on this http://www.guitarhq.com/fenderc.html that colour was discontinued in 1969. Still got a bad feeling about the originalality of the finish, especially as you hardly ever see Poly crack like that... and on an incredibly rear colour too? Mmm......
On an incredibly rear colour? I take it you don't like that colour then!
 8. Ummm, can't ever remember a tiger stripe? Unless it's brush painted?
 9. These are brilliant basses. Not to be confused with standard Mex builds. I sold mine for peanuts and still kick myself every time one comes up. Not because of the money but because the bass was so good. If I hadn't just shelled out quite a few quid I'd be knocking on your door.
 10. I used to love an old Selmer 50w treble and bass head that a mate of mine had. Must have dated from the sixties. That wasn't too heavy . Lovely sounding thing. Really old school! I can't remember the model but I think it was one of these - https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/selmer-treble-and-bass-50-head.1372272/
 11. This isn't a bad thread with plenty of loud and light 1x10 combos mentioned - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/304747-is-there-a-1x10-combo/
 12.
That does sound more realistic
Twas a slight exaggeration on my behalf...
 13.
Ebay too £1.95 for 10
Maplins £19.50 for one!
 14. This is cheap and must be heavy! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/299665-trace-elliot-2x10-200w-cab-l60-remaining-for-sale/
 15.
Could be GK, and have ordered some new slow blow glass jobs of the correct rating. We'll see !!
I was surprised to find that my local Maplins had a great range of fuses!
 16. Maybe these will help? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/99650-trace-elliot-eats-fuses/ http://basschat.co.uk/topic/204750-trace-elliot-ah300-gp12-issues/
 17.
These are great rigs...
Great rig. Great price! No brainer really. On fleabay now for considerably more...
 18.
Nice rig and a very good price. I'd have this if I didn't have a PA already. GLWTS
Thanks for the +1. Surprised it's still here really. 2 or 3 gigs and it's paid for!
 19. Great stuff! I ended up watching all the chicken fights as well. Compulsive viewing!
 20.
I have four different Barefaced cabs and I'm getting worried. How on earth can I come up with a consistent motor vehicle analogy that will neither break down under stress (or on the A312) nor attract The Wrath Of Stevie? Christ! I'd almost rather get into another discussion about The Blessed St. Jeremy with a bunch of Corbynistas on the Election thread ...
Honda's have a good track record I believe. The words of the breakdown guy who towed my Citroen back from Wales...
 21.
AER Amp One. Throws out a huge amount of volume belying its size; enough for a pub gig
Nearly mentioned that one but I don't think they have a speaker out? They have a line out I think. Besides that, I've never known anyone with an Amp One that needed an extension!
 22. Sold a Mac to Owen. Nice and easy deal. Simples! Thanks again Owen. Cheers Dunc
 23.
Promethean 3110 still available new. And it's a good little amp!
Ah! it is indeed! Really light little thing that sounds great. I used to have one but bought the P5110c to replace it. Looking back I should have stuck with the 3110. Half as light and half the price!
 24.
If I'm undestanding this right? Ibanez Promethean P5110c Ibanez Promethean P3110c Redsub BT5110c Harley Benton BA5110c Ashdown Mibass 2.0 combo Sure there's loads more but becoming rarer.
All of the above have extension speaker sockets. Some run at 250w as a stand alone combo and 500w with their matching extensions (or any other 8ohm extension). The P3110 is 300w stand alone and 300w with the extension (something to do with the windings). All have to be bought secondhand now though.
