I just felt my way around,i wanted a really low action so i shimmed the neck of my jazz bass and its really low now,just go easy is the best advice i can give.

If you look there are a couple of places on the web that show you how to do this but you will need a 9 pin dpdt foot switch,its not that difficult to do and makes a lot of difference.

Have you tried the bassmasta site i think they have some roses tabs,its one of the easier roses songs bass wise,gary moundfield taught me loads,try just listening along with the track you should be able to pick it up.

Have you got the pcb layout you used mate? I wont nick the idea or anything,i have been wanting to get into valves for a while and this looks a lot safer than messing round with mains voltage.

Get very famous. Who really gives a sh*t mate ive never heard of you. This sort of thing which actually counts,ie free decent stuff is only given to you if you are making these guys or a record company serious money.No offence to you and i guess thats my access all areas down the tube when you make it. The best synths are things like the albino,anything rob papen does,linnplug are excellent as are any of the absyth synths.Effects wise there is some awesome filters by camelaudio,both there space and phatt modules are brilliant,the space is my favourite you can do trance gates and all that stuff on it.I have had some interesting results running a drum loop backwards in live and then putting it through various gates.Have fun.

The first one is how i play all the time,also if im playing fast runs i find im faster if i use 1 finger rather than 2,its just how my playing has evolved.

I dont think there is enough usable clean sounds on them,they do tend to sound very raw. I have used a few but until something comes out that can make me sound like a korg wavestation or novation super nova i leave it to VSTs. Its a shame because i would love to be able to layer big spacy pads down with my bass loop them and then play over them.

Have you tried having a fiddle with any of the trimming pots/capacitors i know these are adjustable maybe yours wasnt adjusted befor it left the factory,just a suggestion.

I wish i could find a decent documentary on him. The radio repair guy did good!

Not being nasty,but i would rather see JPJ with players who were good as him,this man really could have obtained better musicians.
