Hi all, I WANT YOUR OLD STUFF! old bits of bass/guitar, bodys, necks, hardware, bridges, p-ups, anything you have lying around since buying new ones! budding luthier who's all moneyless and too young to have a job needs his bits of instrument to fiddle with and bolt together! I will cover the postage, but I would prefer not to do any other kinds of paying, since I can't afford anything atm haha.
I have a 1973 fender jazz bass that is going on the tip if you are interested.Just email me at cheekygypsy.com.

10. Wish i had a fine 80s coiffure like that,im jealous of his lusterous locks.
11.
He gets quite a nice sound out of that ironing board.......
Why doesnt he just get a guitar? To many strings for me.

14.
I'm starting this thread with the hope of compiling a valuable resource for the bass playing community. We all know how frustrating it can get when searching for your ideal tone, so wouldn't it be sick, if there was a f*** off encyclopaedia listing the rig's of every one's favourite bass players? So instead of spending endless days trying to find the tone you’re after, you could just have a mooch and find out the exact gear you need to get a certain players tone. As well some analysis of their playing style, you know a look and there technique and approach to the instrument. Let’s do it then! <snip> Alex Katunich; (born August 18, 1976) is the former bassist of Incubus. <snip>
Sorry he dont do jack sh*t for me.
15. Id go with a fender jazz over an ibanez anyday. Its all down to taste really i suppose, ill agree about jazz necks but i dont want to be overcrowded higher up. Plus fender have class, ibanez make good quality guitars though.
16. Id rather read take a break, than NME, bring back melody maker.
17. Usually its jazz basses i find but there are others, the geddy lee jazz is very thin necked.
18. He taught me on his video for learning bass, but being stoners at the time me and my best mate used to just take the piss out of him, until he did his seriously funky slap cop chase solo at the end, jools holland introduced the video. Happy daze
19. He still teaches i think,he used to be in the back of the uk bassist magazine.
20. they are all on youtube if you have a look. Deidre with her synth axe and the very shy and excellent henry thomas with his bass.

Vocaloid

I have the lola vocaloid its quite a good laugh, but it still sounds like a machine.
22. Run them through a DAW that has normalization of audio files on,something like wave lab or similar would do it or any sample manipulation program. You can then set the normalization level and run each mp3 through and save each normalized track. That way the tracks will all come out at the same level. . Adobe audition was cool edit pro i think so it should have a normalization feature somewhere.
23. I always think im getting good and some bastard blows me out the water. Sometimes i wish you tube had not been invented, ive just got a norman watt roy bass line nailed and now i have to learn this.
24. Village green preservation society for me,lovely album, ray davies is a fantastic song writer,i never realised dave was on the other bus though.Quite a shock.
25.
I used to play the ''hook' synth and bass part from "Hard, Better, Faster, Stronger" with a synthy sound on my 6er. You need the high C for the last few notes.. but it sounds GREAT and you have to jump up the neck quickly to catch it on time.
HHmm it looks like i will need a bass with more strings than 4.
