1.
... Plat pro-LMII-downward firing 1x10
What's that then? Do you just put your cab face down?
2. I play a hybrid and it has travelled loads. Only problem I ever had was a seam opening but you get that on any bass. Just because it's a hybrid doesn't make it good though. Mine is a cheapish one and I've heard some ply basses that sound better.
3. I've got one of these in Mahogany. I've gigged it a few times and works lovely for acoustic stuff and open mic nights. I'm still coming to grips with the scale but it really has a nice tone. I run it through a Sadowsky pre-di.
4. If you want to try one on the cheap, pick up a used Bronco. I've tried the short scale Squier Jags with the PJ config. Felt nice and some good reviews out there, at least for the P bass tone. The jazz pup seems to lack a bit. Also tried a Cort action Jr. Nice bass. I had a Bronco and swapped the bridge to a cheap high mass one and put an Artec hot rail strat pup in with new pots and cap. It roared, almost too much, but the upgrades cost £25 and transformed it. The new Squier Mustang shorty also looks nice but a bit pricey for a Bronco with a different bridge and pup.
5. Looks nice for the money you paid and if it sounds good too then a winner. I'd say eastern European with those white tuners?
6. If she's so talented why does she have to dance around with no clothes on?
7. Neil and I swapped basses. I couldn't be happier with the bass and the ease doing the deal. Thanks again.
8.
Just got home from 2 weeks away from my bass. Feels like the finger strength has faded massively, seriously not cool...
Yep, takes ages to build and a fraction of that time to lose
9. Thanks for the chart Jake. I agree that sitting and playing these will help you hear how these modes sound and work. I'm going to use this as a practice warm-up
10. Thanks for the info guys.
11. What a great time you must have had. I agree that time away can help the head and you come back fresh with a new perspective. As the song goes, "Falling in love again...."
12.
The idea of frets as an option is attractive.
Takes all the fun out of it
13. I'm adding a different bridge to my 5 string EUB and am wondering what may be a good choice for a pickup. Anybody playing a 5'er amplified? My first thoughts are a BassMax as I need a big sound but not necessarily authentic DB, second choice is one of those "No Nonsense" realist type pups on ebay. The EUB is a BSX Allegro and the new bridge is temporary while the original gets fixed.
14.
Wow, can't believe this is still here, these normally fly out in seconds. I still miss mine, it was probably the most versatile combo I've owned, and certainly the only one that could do a decent impersonation of a full stack. The EQ section is second to none in its balance between ease of use and versatility. I don't believe there's a better combo to put a Precision through
+1 Also good as a doubling combo for double bass. Great amps!
15. Done as well. I agree with Jake too. I like their strings.
16. Really nice playing there, from you and the group. The sound guy did indeed do a very good job, balance, tone etc... all lovely. That looks like a fun gig...small group with a big sound. Good stuff.
17. I really wish I had the readies and need for this. Did you get this off Merchant a couple of years back? Sad sign of the times when a nice bass going for a steal is still sitting here
18. Bump for a very versatile bass. Used mine on Sat for a function gig running the middle pickup (P bass tone) for many songs. Press of a button to the back two pups for Rapper's Delight and a nice B.E. tone, onto the front two pups for Lady Madonna and a more rich P tone... and all of this passive. The active side adds even more to the game. It's a great bass that gives you lots of controllable variety. Lets you make subtle and not so subtle tone changes very quickly for different songs in your set list. A bargain at this price
19. Nice playing and singing there. Not easy to walk a bass line and sing a melody at the same time. Good news that you have an amp that you like. That can be a hard thing to settle on.
20.
Bump with a huge price drop to £120 I'm leaving at the end of the month, so either I sell this or it goes into my parents loft.
PM'd
21. Enjoy the session. Cheers
