  1. Currently on Sky Arts - Queen Live At The Rainbow 1974. This is from their early days when IMO they were at their best being a proper heavy rock band.
  2. Lucky it’s not a Rush tribute band. 😀
  3. Bob Harris is standing in on the Jonnie Walker BBC Radio 2 programme this afternoon, all the music tracks are from the year 1973, brilliant music that brings back so many great memories of my younger days.
  4. This is exactly what I did, strangely the SUB is now my preferred bass I use for gigs.
  5. That was Louise Marshall, very classy voice. I was looking forward to The Real Thing as they had some great songs in the mid to late 70’s. The first number was OK, but the second and third got progressively worse, the lead vocalist was lacking in range and was almost shouting them out at times, sadly another vocalist well past their best.
  6. Boogie F*ckin Woogie. 😤😤😤 Time for bed, goodnight all.
  7. On the missing list - Rowland Rivron. The walking clock.
  8. Yes, my wife said exactly the same thing.
  9. Just watching the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 inductions ceremony on Sky Arts. Lionel Richie was introduced by Lenny Kravitz and I was looking forward to his on stage performance, unfortunately his voice is shot, it was not good, sad to see. Dave Grohl also murdered the guitar solo in Easy.
  10. It sounds an absolute nightmare, the powers that be who set all these zones and non entry regulations obviously do not even consider the complications it creates to the likes of dand666 and other working musicians.☹️
  11. Our Free tribute band several years ago were offered a spot at the Rhodes Rock festival in Lindos, this event looks very similar. Unfortunately we had to turn it down, our guitarist was a teacher and this event was in term time and he wasn’t allowed the time off, this was without doubt the biggest gig we were ever offered, but didn’t get to play. ☹️
  12. I purchased a Far East built SUB in Satin Walnut as a back up bass to my 90’s Stingray, I fitted the SUB with a Retrovibe Stinger EQ kit and it’s now my main gigging bass, love it.
  13. Foreigner is an example of this situation. Founding member Mick Jones is playing on and off with them on live tours, they are currently doing their final tour 2022/2023. I have seen them a couple of times in the past with Kelly Hansen on lead vocals and they were superb. I would have no qualms in paying good money to see them again, even though some people just consider them to be a very good tribute to the original band.
  14. Pure class, superb musicianship from the whole band and the bonus of a female bass player laying down a great groove and lines 👍
  15. A prime example - Boy George If anyone has seen his attitude on Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, he comes across as a nasty spiteful old drama queen, not a nice person.
  16. Limehouse Lizzy at Stamford Corn Exchange last night. Sold out seated crowd of people mainly over sixty years of age having a great time. The band were on top form as usual, Wayne had a bit of a voice issue due to a cough, but did a sterling job of keeping it going.
  17. I was working away in Cardiff in the early 70’s and I used to go to a “Rock Disco” at the Top Rank club, they had a massive sound system in there, I will always remember the intro to Faith Healer coming through it, absolutely massive. Managed to see SAHB live at the Knebworth Festival in 1974.
  18. Just purchased two tickets for a Limehouse Lizzy gig in a couple of weeks time.
  19. Just seen this artist perform on The Graham Norton Show this evening, Lady Blackbird, what a fabulous voice. Thought I would check her out on YouTube, she can really cut it live, she definitely has a good future ahead of her.
  20. I had totally forgotten about A Band Called O, really liked them, I saw them live at Cambridge Corn Exchange in the 1970’s. 👍
