  1. Our guitarist suggested the Slade one for next Saturday, the singer can’t be bothered to learn the lyrics. Its a pretty tasty bass line by Jim Lea, more difficult than people think, can’t bluff it by just playing root notes, you totally loose the feel.
  2. The Clark Kent of the bass world.
  3. Albatros - Fleetwood Mac
  4. I disagree with a few folks on here, why learn a whole new technique just for one song in your set. Learning slap is not something you learn in just an afternoon of trying to get it, RHCP version is pretty fast slap, hardly describe it as easy, maybe to players who are used to playing slap.
  5. First song of the set every time - Tush ZZ Top.
  6. Whoops, need to brush up on your Joe stuff 👍😀
  7. Surely it would be 5:15 👍
  8. I recon it’s Bert Weedon.
  9. Just back from a gig and watching an ELO concert from Wembley filmed in 2017 on BBC4, brilliant sound and top quality gig 👍
  10. Say cheese 😀
  11. I stand corrected, you are right Sir.
  12. Blinded by the Light - Manfred Mann’s Earthband Originally written and performed by The Boss.
  13. They probably got that one out of the cheap broken bizkit bag.😀
  14. Superb Lzzy Hale vocals on this Heart cover.
  15. Just thought of another cracking track. Frankenstein - Edgar Winter Group
  16. Layla - Derek and the Dominoes
  17. The plus point is that you have a captive audience and a lot more punters than would normally be in the venue. It happened to us a couple of gigs ago, it was a couples wedding anniversary in the pub/restaurant and we had a great night.
  18. You can’t beat a confident mistake 😀
  19. For the sake of keeping a happy band and the landlady not willing to budge on only wanting a three piece, I personally wouldn’t bother with the pub, it’s only a gig and not worth the hassle.
  20. Never trust someone with a green beard.
  21. Just love the accents in this cracking song. My pals band do a real great rendition of this song.
  22. Probably 90% of the local bands on the pub circuit around our way use them.
  23. Our band played support to Wishbone Ash a few years ago, had a good chat with Andy Powell, he also obliged and signed my original Pilgrimage album.
