  1. Very good, just a shame that annoying “look at me woman” was prancing about in front of the band on the video.
  2. Four piece, we are charging £240.
  3. Blimey, first gig back and you are playing the O2.
  4. Oh Man, this could have been me, we did exactly the same in our school in the early seventies, same bands except the Ash album we played to bits was Pilgrimage, my best pal Giz was also seriously into Stray. One highlight of my life is that the band I was in, played support to the Andy Powell Wishbone Ash.👍👍
  5. For folks who like Morrissey’s voice, maybe a good thing, for me the total opposite 🤮
  6. Played our second gig since the original lockdown, more heavy rock sets this time, 2 x 1 hour sets, couple of new songs we learnt in August, went down very well with the punters, quite a few up and dancing. I felt really nervous for most of the first set, very unusual for me, couple of dodgy notes and found it difficult just to settle in, I think it’s just down to not playing live for such a long time. One thing I’m really happy with is the sound of my MM Sub since I fitted a Retrovibe kit, absolutely love it, really punchy.
  7. Like the shirt, I have a similar one designed by the Spanish Desigual brand.
  8. Documentary on Del Amitri tonight (Saturday) at 9pm.
  9. I love this track, it reminds me of my first year at work in 1972, first proper wage and going away with six of my pals boating on the Norfolk Broads for a week that summer, this track and album got played to death on the cassette player taken on board, happy (hippy) times.
  10. Not a personal dig at you Dave, it’s just how I feel about comebacks after many decades of a band I never liked the first time around.
  11. I would be really interested what volume levels some of you folks gig at when 1000w heads are being spoken about. I play in a pretty loud rock band, bass, drums, guitar and vocalist and have never on any occasion had my 2 x 15 MarkBass rig anywhere near flat out, we have our own PA and my bass rig is never put through it, just used as backline. We had our first gig last weekend since the start of Covid, I have just took a photo of my amp settings as they were at the gig, the master is hardly on and my sound was plenty loud enough on the gig.
  12. First gig in 17 months for our band last night. 2 x 1 hour sets. Great to be playing again, a few duff notes, but the punters really enjoyed it and a bonus with the landlord paying us more than we agreed. Fingers are sore this morning, possible blisters forming.
  13. Yes, you don’t need a PA to start a band, but you will need one once you are rehearsed and ready to go out gigging, still needs discussing with the band before you get too far into it. You can get by rehearsing by putting the vocalist through a single powered cab or monitor, works just fine.
  14. That site is full of mostly dreamers, extremely frustrating trying to weed out the decent people.
  15. Do you personally own a PA, if not it could be difficult starting a band. The ideal is to find a frontman vocalist who already has one. If you have no PA then things can become difficult with all the band members as to who is going to fund the purchase of one and transport it to gigs.
  16. Agree with you there, you did initially state “ no one”
  17. Totally disagree, listen to Paul Rogers or Tom Jones, just to name a couple.
  18. Typical American libel cr*p, unfortunately this sort of stuff is also creeping into the U.K.
