Be warned of eBay's global shipping service. I just got scammed by a buyer using this service. Sent my parcel (recorded and tracked) to eBay's global hub in Staffordshire, duly received and tracking updated. Item sent overseas, tracked every step of the way, including delivery to the buyers door step, where he signed for it. 9 days later he filed an 'item not received' and instantly escalated it to eBay to resolve. eBay sided with the buyer, even though the parcel was tracked every step of the way. Appealed the case immediately, pointing eBay to the evidence of the tracking (which ironically was on their own system) - got an email 10 minutes later saying the case would STILL be in the buyer's favour as I had not been quick enough to respond to the original case with tracking info. They instantly took the money back from paypal. I was able to get it all sorted - but it took a good 1/2 hour on the phone to get a human to look at the issue.

Jamkazam works well apparently. Very interesting concept

If it's already been refinished, the 'devaluing' has already been done. I'd get it refretted by a decent luthier and enjoy it!

How to raise cash for a better bass? Is it even possible?

I don't understand it, if you're 50 years old, why not work and save up like the rest of us mere mortals? -
Give the guitar a try, you might love it. If you don't you'll regret not trying it. And as everyone else suggests, there is no law against playing both.

It's time to let go of my TC Electronic rig. It has lived in my practice room for the past 3 years, without a single gig. Amp is working flawlessly, and speaker is very clean (just a couple of marks on the tolex), Need to reclaim the space & I can't justify something so meaty for a practice room. Unlikely to entertain a trade, as I'm more into my guitars these days and have all the gear I really need - you can try me with desirable synth stuff though. You're more than welcome to come and try the rig out and shake my neighbour's fillings out! Collection is from Northampton, or I can meet in central Milton Keynes during the working week by prior arrangement. Sorry I don't have any boxes big enough to ship the cab in & I've no idea where I would get such a thing - so postage isn't an option.

RD-8 arrived on Friday, and I took it out of the box this afternoon. My god, this thing is as much fun as legally possible with £200! After about 30 mins, the kids arrived .... ",....whats THAT??? "... they took over and I didn't get a look in. Looking forward to recreating all the 80's soul classics with this one.

He probably doesn't want to pay final value fees. They only let certain people have the £1 selling fees offer, it's not for everyone.. but it does sound a very dodgy way to do business. Cant you collect for cash? Even if it was legit, what corners do you think he would cut on packing a bass for shipment.

it worked.... I'm not sure how I overlooked something so simple! Cheers @Reggaebass

Am I the only one who hasn't figured out how to post youTube links? Google and searching the forum hasn't helped. Everyone else seems to be able to post links with a nice preview, but mine just end up as a vanilla link. Seems I've tried everything obvious but nothing works. Using a mac (Mojave and/or Catalina) with Google Chrome browser if that makes a difference.

Guy called BelgaBass - is Bernard Edwards/Louis Johnson/the 1970/80's reincarnated

I figured at £227 - why not? I had the original TR-808 in the 1980's and I've been without an analog drum machine since i sold my TR-606 and Jomox Xbase-09 a couple of years ago. Like you said, cheaper than a lot of bass pedals. I'm weighing up whether to buy their SH101 clone too. Heaven knows where it will fit into my current sound lol

Just picked one of these up from Bax-Music today £227 all in including shipping. Cant wait for it to arrive

There is also a 'Tiny Desk' concert on the tube featuring this which is worth at least one watch - with a full live band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CxvB0d5VF0 -

For the non-believers... Son Of Yvonne -
you pay VAT on the profit, 20% of the difference between the dealers buy and sell price.

If I was considering releasing anything, I'd spring the extra and get 2-300 vinyl LPs pressed rather than CDs. You'd be better off buying into an ascending format rather than something thats only played by people over 55!

Bought a Fender electro acoustic guitar from them a couple of years ago. No issues, came double boxed, plenty of bubble wrap - arrived on time. Was a very keen price I seem to remember.

Small valve amps. Caution; guitar related content

My daughter won a Blackstar Artist in a competition. A/B'd for 1/2 an hour with my Blues Jnr to decide it's not 'the sound in my head' (as the adverts say) - so it went on eBay as quickly as it arrived. Saw a Fender Pro Jnr in decent nick on a facebook group earlier today - £250 and a BJ for £300. -

Blues Jnr and some cash? - or is the BJ too big? -
3/4 length or full scale for child learner?
sammybee replied to darkandrew's topic in General Discussion
My middle daughter (average height, arm length etc) started out at 7 with a 3/4 size Squier Strat. It was the perfect introduction for her. We did spend quite a bit getting it fettled so it stayed in tune. Once she'd had it for a couple of years, was regularly playing & serious about it, she invested her pocket money in a full size USA Strat deluxe plus when she was 9. She plays in a band with other (much older teens) now, and has even taken up bass (now 10 she manages a full size 4h Stingray). She picks up an acoustic now and then, but her tutor teaches her the RGT syllabus for Electric. You need to make it fun for them, find a teacher that your kid can gel with & by the time they are in their mid teens they'll be the coolest kid in the school. If your kid does take up electric, invest in some good ear protection too. -
I hear that boxes of peanut dust work wonders, well that's what Chabuddy G did for Kurrupt FM & they never had complaints about noise.

Literally every track he touches, turns to dance floor gold. This is my favourite at the moment
