I picked up a Roland RD-700nx used from Andertons earlier this year, in mint condition for a mere £599 with stand and pedals etc. Yes it is a little bulky/heavy, but ticks all the other boxes

A couple of weeks ago 2 of my rack samplers made some fatal sounding noises (an Akai S900 and a S2800). While I love the simplicity and sound of the old Akai gear, I think the time has come to embrace something a bit more up-to-date I've spoken negatively of my experiences of modern Akai gear.. but this time I'm fully committing to the journey to bring my gear up to date & putting in the time to get really familiar with it I've plumped for the Akai MPC Live 2 along with the Akai MPK Mini mk3 for a fully portable solution that will fit in a backpack. Not sure I'm ready to sell my vintage MPC's just yet.. but looking forward to this journey with the new one

Bought an Apple watch from Lawrie. Smooth deal, arrived really quickly and even better condition than the photos suggested! Thanks very much Lawrie hope to deal again soon

I'm not sure it's possible to change a project with a midi cc message. You can certainly change a sequence with a cc message within a project It's a workaround, but it would quickly get very messy and confusing if you had multiple songs you wanted to arrange into a set within a project

I kinda get that, but these machines are mostly marketed as compositional tools

Does anyone else find themselves crippled with option paralysis when faced with these newer MPC's? I just find them so incredibly (over) complicated and distracting to the point of being un-musical.. I just seemed never to get anything done with them. I used to have the MPC Live and latterly the MPC One (both sold) and found the same issue with both of them I find I get a lot more done with my MPC 2000xl's and Isla S2400 which i use just as drum/percussion sampling drum machines/midi sequencers, recording all my instruments straight into Logic

Bob bought a mixer off me, super quick payment, excellent communication - definitely recommend, deal with confidence. Thanks Bob!

Yamaha MX 12/6 12 channel 6 buss mixer (4 subs and a stereo master), 8 preamps with phantom power, max 12 line inputs, built in Digital FX and Graphic EQ I've used this for the past couple of years as a sub-mixer for my samplers/keys, hasn't missed a beat. Nice solid all metal construction. Collect from Northampton or local delivery possible

On the contrary, I've received excellent out of warranty support from other companies... just Focusrite who were particularly poor

I strongly counsel against buying an (expensive) Focusrite interface; I bought a Clarett 4Pre (used) and it blew up after a couple of months use. Whilst you might think thats the luck of the draw, Focusrite support didn't really offer much in the way of support for an (supposedly premium) interface that was only a couple of years old - just the possibility of a (paid for) repair at a 3rd party with no guarantees that even after paying £££ for that it would even be repairable.
-
Full disclosure, this unit doesn't work in it's current state! I bought this item on here in March (fully working then), and it was fine up until a few days when it went pop; and now (confirmed with focusrite) has a physical fault. Could be a great project for someone with electronic skills. £45 (or near offer) plus postage, or collect in Northampton. I'm offering no guarantees, sold as seen. Video showing what happens when it's turned on

I don't have an M4 MBA, but I do have the 15inch M3 MBA. Can report that it takes everything I throw at it, although I'm not a really demanding user of virtual instruments. I run Logic 11 with around 30ish tracks of audio no problem. The more modern M3 onwards MBA's drive multiple monitors which is the main reason I got this one. I also have an M3 MBP that I use for work. Much prefer the MBA for its sleeker looks. I'm sure if you get an M4 MBA with lots of RAM you will be just fine

Akai MPC One (Black version), currently running version 3 Firmware (the latest version), with some additional extras. whats included. - the MPC itself, inc PSU - a large capacity (128gb - i think) SD Card to hold your creations/expansions etc - a classic 90's House F9 expansion pack (paid for) - a fitted screen protector (not the flimsy piece of film that people never take off, but a proper hardened screen protector - like the sort you fit to your phone) - Akai MPK Mini 25 key keyboard (think this is a 2nd generation unit) - USB Cable to link the keyboard to the MPC This really is a complete DAWless setup with the MPK keyboard. You can record multiple audio tracks (like a DAW) alongside your MPC compositions. All the gear is in excellent condition. If you prefer the version 2 software/firmware - this can be downgraded with a simple free download from akai professional I have more samplers/MPC's than I know what to do with, and I prefer my older vintage units and my Isla S2400 Postage is not an issue as I have the original box, or you are welcome to collect from my place in Northampton & see it working
