  1. Akai MPC 1000 black edition, complete with flightcase, 2x CF cards, JJOS (OS 1 version 5.0 - it's a paid for version) and power cable. Unit is 100% functional, but has a couple of scratches on the front edge, which doesn't affect functionality, but are noticeable hence the low, low price. 5 other drum machines and lack of useable space force sale. Happy for you to collect and try out, local delivery might be possible, or secure postage with a bank transfer. Thanks for checking the ad 7AEC6E9B-DE2B-491C-B37A-5C230E741763_1_201_a.heic
  2. Warez and not paying for software is a bit uncool these days... it's not the done thing
  3. I'm really happy with my current and only bass, 2005 EBMM Stingray Ltd Ed 4H 3eq with a rosewood board. I do wonder sometimes what it would be like to swap for a 78/79 Pre Eb Stingray in black with a maple neck
  4. Glad it turned up! Just leave the seller negative feedback...make sure it is factual, but negative - and enjoy the cab!
  5. Did he package the cab? ... I suppose if you're not an experienced shipper or seller, the temptation is to just slap a label on the item & hope for the best. I've known this happen once or twice
  6. It will get sorted rest assured, and they will find in your favour based on what you have posted.
  7. I'd just file a complaint with eBay and let them take the strain.. Afterall, they should earn their high fees
  8. How about approaching the problem another way? What could you do with the existing space in your attic - what compromises could you make, and still have a nice space to make music Do you really need acoustic drums? Could you make do with a decent electric kit? Same with guitar amps and bass - Could you DI them or use a Kemper or similar modelling amp (or software)... if you could do these things, you'd save yourself a whole lot of money and grief. Your neighbours would thank you too. I would invest in a small vocal isolation booth though, if recording a lot of vocals
  9. About as legitimate as a seven pound note!
  10. Does anyone under the age of 60 watch TV anymore? It's a dying medium
  11. This is what 'unblocks' me - just bouncing ideas off another musician, or failing that just someone who might be remotely interested in music. Often it doesn't take much - sometimes a 20 min chat/suggestions is enough to get the creativity flowing
  12. We bought a Piano from Andertons that got cosmetically damaged in transit. They were 110% helpful getting a replacement to us, and getting the damaged one back to them - a logistical challenge for an item that was 120kgs + Real humans that care about their customers
  13. As a first mic, id recommend a Shure SM57, you should be able to find one new under your budget. It is really easy to get a good sound (unlike a cheap LDC) and can be used on most instruments and vocals alike. It's a dynamic mic, which won't require phantom powering. The SM57 has the same capsule as a SM58, just in a more versatile package. Most Pro studios have at least one SM57 in their mic cupboard - they are like the Swiss Army knife of mics! For an interface, i'd really recommend something from Focusrite -> not just because their quality is top notch, but also the support of their products, they really do set the bar for taking care of their customers. The 2i2 model seems very popular (or one of the bigger interfaces if you need more inputs).
  14. just use something like this.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364336268750
  15. I managed to offload my much unloved and unused Akai MPC Live on FB Marketplace.. 2 days later with itchy palms and eBay loaded up, I pulled the trigger on an old Akai MPC 1000 She's a bit of an ugly duckling with a couple of scratches and needs some tlc to get her in top shape. Still I bagged it at a fair price so no regrets First impressions, it's great. With the JJOS you have some nifty features like audio recording (actual D2D rather than just samples), some FX built in and lots more Much better quality than the new MPCs (MPC Live, MPC One etc) and driven more by your ears than eyes! Kind of a half way house between the classics (60/3000/2000/xl) and the newcomers Time will tell if she's a keeper 0C37335F-9743-416E-AC70-CA7763386EFA_1_201_a.heic
  16. Having lived over the pond for awhile. I can safely report, it's not only music. It's just about everything. There is some shared language, but that is about it
  17. Thats gorgeous. I don't gas for much, but if I had a bit of spare cash I'd be all over this
  18. Gone to a basschatter!
  19. Yes, it looks like the dancefloor from Saturday Night Fever I think the basic premise, is that it allows you to launch the various parts ('clips') of your song as and when required, more of a performance tool if you like https://www.andertons.co.uk/novation-launchpad-mini-mk3-64-rgb-pad-midi-grid-controller £88, it includes Ableton Live Lite and a whole bunch of other software
  20. With reference to your initial question about triggering in multi-tracked parts using the follow tempo in Ableton - I did actually give it a try earlier and it worked surprisingly well. I'm a Logic user too, and wouldn't throw that aside for Ableton. However for your use case, I think you might be best served by the 'Lite' version or Ableton. You might want to invest in a mini Launchpad or similar to control it It definitely requires thinking about the process in a slightly different way to the way Logic works - I can see how Ableton is viewed as difficult if you're used to a linear, tape multirack type workflow
  21. I'm not an Ableton guru, but I'm pretty sure this would be sufficient .. I wouldn't worry about slight variations in tempo from your hand drum, as the time stretch is done on the fly, so the 'tracks' in Ableton will automatically fit in with the input tempo Sound like an interesting project you are planning
  22. Unfortunately GarageBand is a bit crap at syncing midi - ie. it doesn't do it Reason will (as you've discovered), as will Reaper, Cubase and most other DAWs - and of course Logic Pro X will ... you probably don't want to spend any more money right now, but Logic is a good investment for the future if you're on Mac
  23. Give it a try. I think you might be pleasantly suprised how well it actually works. You might be better off posting specific questions to someone that actually uses it, rather than on a Bass forum that attracts comments from people who have just heard internet rumours
  24. How many tracks are you using? There is a 'Lite' version available for much cheaper and a lot of hardware these days includes a licence for it - it is limited to 8 tracks though
