1. Do they come with a horn??
2. Polytune clip again, have a 5-string headless (low B)so clip it on to the volume knob, works a treat!!
3.
So is David Cameron.
I never see his bass player though!!!
4. Sod how it sounds, it just looks awesome!!!
5.
Has Jools got that sort of level of appeal?
He's on the Beeb every week, seems like appeal to me!
6.
Don't see many ibanez musician basses in bass magazines so quite pleased with this cover
He's a big fan of Ibanez, has a big collection. Very interesting guy, did a talk at the South East Bass Bash a few years ago and a few of us lot are friends with him on Facebook and he's always got some interesting stuff to say and show. I like him, always very humble to be playing with Jools and always likes to big up the guests that he backs.
7.
You mean..thrash metal ?
Trash Metal???
8. Booked for a friends surprise 40th birthday party with the footy in mind too as he's a fan! Later start but it should be fun night! Three of us are footy fans too which helps!!
9. It's more the bags and crap left lying around at set up and break down that's more of a problem with my bloody lot! The drummer unpacks his snare/toms and leaves the bags all over what little stage we have, the guitard and singer (an item so arrive together) put PA speakers and bags/guitar cases haphazardly rather than putting them near where they would go. I've stepped away from my gear to set my pedal board up and come back to find a kit bag on top of my amp and an empty cymbal case leaning against my speaker. Removed these, put my pedal board down and connected up, turned round to adjust something on amp and keys puts a bag between me and pedals which I nearly trip over!! They're a bloody liability!!!
10. Due to a supply issue at Status I went to Stringbusters for a set of Double ball end 5-string Elites. Ordered online and waited, and waited!!! Phoned up over a week later to be told that even though the strings showed in stock they actually weren't in the delivery but they failed to notice. Then the chap who I spoke said his colleague was supposed to phone me to tell me what had happened. This did not happen. So all bad so far but then the chap said he send me a La Bella set at no extra charge, considerably more expensive! So overall 2/3rds bad and 1 3rd good. It wouldn't put me off using them again but I'd be more inclined to phone and get the stock checked there and then. Nice strings btw, prefer Hotwires though!
11. I sososo haven't got the Tim to look back on all this!!
12.
Spelling nazi alert: A professional would also know its called a dauber, not a dabber, as in "Was it a Mecca Dauber or a betting pencil?" Score 4 for my previous 4 bands, and 2 in the current set list.
Can be either!!! Don't argue with a bingo professional!!!!
13. ^^ Good news. Thing is they were reporting her as suicidal which was a worry. Seems she's always battling demons of one sort or another!
14. This could end badly, I hope not!! Sinead O'Connor 'missing' in the US after bike ride http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-36304329
15. Maybe he's after an amp as well "marks and Dings"!! :-) Could be the new Basschat slang innit!! Man enters Bass Direck "I'm looking for some marks and dings, innit"!!
16.
Are you going to spill the beans and tell us what bass it is?
I wonder if "Dings" is a clue ;-)
17. Had a few bits and pieces from them, tried some kit under no pressure, got left alone with a Squier Strat for about 20minutes before someone popped their head back in, bought that! Just ordered a compressor online, came from Glasgow, delivered on the day promised! All in all always a good experience with them, in person or online, staff are very pleasant and quite knowledgeable!! Just to add I've had similar experiences with Andertons too....but that's a whole other thread!!
18.
I must confess, I've never played bingo in my life. so what's a dabber?
Must admit I go to bingo with my girlie!!
19. Spoke to Nick earlier, nearly up and running and by appointment only at first. Hope he has every success, I've known Nick for years and he is a top bloke!!!
20.
Two lines in fact, one across and one down.
And four corners!!! Of course a professional bingo player would use a dabber!!
21. NAD!!! So I've got a brand new LM3 in the boot ready for tonight's gig! Only using the TC 2x12 at the mo but I'll be upgrading speaker system soon. I'll report on the progress!
