1. There's also The Last Man Alive which I heard a while back on R2, on first listen I thought they were by one of the American country rockers, imagine my surprise!!! Good driving rocking tracks, nothing like his previous work!
2.
I did a dep with a fab rock band wot I occasionally play with on Saturday night. The R-400 sounded glorious as usual. One thing I've learned with this head is that the pots really are linear, unlike the norm where most of the action happens in the first 3rd of travel. So, if a crystal clean tone is your thing, you just need to run the input gain lower than you'd normally expect, and run the output gain higher. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2Xc20kBpeA
Hmm, that punches nicely!!!
3. Think I'll have a wander!!
4. Definitely enjoying myself!!!
5. BASSFACE!!!

7.
2016 can f*** right off.
This!!!!!
8. Coming over on Facebook that he has passed away. He's been very ill for some time and it was on the cards I guess! 2016......you suck!! RIP Bassman!!
9. On pre order, next delivery November 14th.
10. If I go I'll be standing at the back by the toilets, as usual!! Nothing dodgy I hasten to add, just that that seems to be the bassists lot! Actually in truth I'm no shrinking violet as Seashell knows from seeng my band!! Wear your lanyard with pride!!!
11.
Skin?
Indeed, off the Money EP! http://youtu.be/duFCG-uhcFQ
12.
It was £229 this morning, I guess they all went!
Guess so. Be interesting if anyone has one already or ordered from this offer. Just a thought as a back up, I didn't have the £ to take this one up but might in the future.
13. One of the reviews I read stated it would not keep up with Mr Rock Drummer and Mr 5150 so I wouldn't expect miracles. Looks good for jazz, acoustic type gigs or as stated with a PA to di to using it as a monitor. There's a 4ohm 112 Eden cab that's recommended to use with it.
14. Don't know much about the head but seems cheap enough for back up or getting a cheapish rig together. https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/WTX264/bass-amp-heads/eden-wtx264-260w-mini-bass-amp-head?utm_campaign=161104-SPE-Eden&utm_source=emarsysemail&utm_medium=email&sc_src=email_854536&sc_lid=34019586&sc_uid=xC1Wb27tHJ&sc_llid=26381&sc_eh=12afac1f9c0ce0e21
15. Two weekends with no gigs coming up BUMP!! Not good for a skint bassman!! Anyone got anything or know of anyone who does? Can travel from Addlestone, Surrey within reason! 4/5 and 11/12 November
16.
I was late to a gig and found that the band had set up leaving no space for me or my gear! They then moaned and complained when I made them all move up to make room. What a bunch of dickheads. That was one of the very few times I've sworn at the guys in a band.
And on the other hand I've turned up later for a regular gig where there is only a cab size space for me, no room to put it elsewhere, and the drummer has set up right across it. Looked a bit grumpy when I told him he'd have to move over a couple of feet! Gets me a bit miffed it does!!
17. We use whatsapp. For example, singer (she who must be obeyed) puts out a message say 10am-ish that we can get a gig on the Saturday but need to confirm quickish! I answer straightaway, guitard is her hubby so they've liaised already, keys is preferred but if we have to do as a 4 piece so be it. Drummer has read the message as shown by the blue tick and read receipt, does he answer??? Does he buggery!!! We can wait all day for an answer, the singer even messages him privately and knows he has read that too!! Strange bloke!! Oh and, he drives a computer all day so no excuse, even just to say if he's not sure!
18. I have one word to describe this.......... GAS!!!!
19.
The silicon Jorg is referring to is an adhesive and will be used to stick the coil to the crossover circuit board. I don't see tthe crossover on any of the pictures. First 2 are the tweeter level control, third is the tweeter itself and the last 2 of the choke that has dropped off. The crossver is normally a small circuit board with resistors, capacitors and the coil mounted on it. It would have wires going to the tweeter, speaker, level control and input jack so tracing any of those should reveal it's location. Simpistically the way it works is that it will be designed to control which ferquencies go to either the speaker or tweeter. Lets say it is designed to "crossover" at 3.5 KHz, all frequencies, (notes), below that figure go to the speaker, all frequencies of 3.5 KHz and above go to the tweeter.
I'll have to have another good look, didn't see anything resembling a circuit board. Jorg Schroeder has been in touch and when his internet is sorted will give me more details. He has said pretty much what you've said but not how to locate the crossover. All a bit strange, when I took the back panel off I was expecting to see some kind of board so as I didn't assumed what I now know to be the level control was the crossover.
20.
I've messaged him on FB for you... D.
Thanks for that and the email address too. I hadn't gotten around to contacting him yet but sent a mail today. Being the weekend I didn't expect a reply yet but just got some advice back. It sticks to the back of the crossover using some silicon. Not sure what the silicon is really, something from a hardware store maybe? Also how does it actually work? Does it stop the crossover heating up or something? Been a player for many years but not had to deal with something like this! Also to add, I'm not actually sure which bit is the crossover, is it the big cylinder behind the panel going to the tweeter level control as seen in above pictures?
21. Limeburners, near Billingshurst. We played an outdoor festival there in the summer and got recommended to the landlord. Looks are deceiving, I didn't really look at the interior back then and from the outside the pub looks massive. In truth it was pretty tiny inside. One of those typical low beam country pubs, anyone over 5' 10'' was walking around like Quasimodo!! So we squeezed our 5 piece in and went for it. We had quite a few familiar faces in the crowd who had traveled out to see us. So I had a great on "stage" sound but when I wandered out to the back of the pub with the singer during a guitar solo the bass had been totally sucked out, it was more nasal than Arnold J Rimmer with the flu!!! So I had a fiddle and the bass was immense at the band end and ok further out. Strange how some venues do this! Went down well and landlord reckoned we were the best band he'd had there! Looking forward to going back!!
22. Looks a nice piece of kit..........the cat liked it too!!!
23. One of those nights where a great gig is spoilt by a couple of twunts! We have a girl that comes to see us and many other bands and just dances all night. Of course there's a knob who decides to try and dance with her and writhes around trying to copy her moves. No problem so far, she's got a lovely temperament and gets it all the time. It's going well, good response, people up dancing and cheering. Get to the penultimate song and right at the end the above twunt gets pushed by his twuntish mate straight into our guitarist and they're all over the place, guitarist regains his balance, finishes song, puts down his guitar (top end PRS) and goes for them! Our singer (his missis) sees what's going to happen and manages to cut him off at the pass before it all kicks off. Damned shame, always a good gig there but spoilt by a couple of knob ends!! Let's hope tonight is less eventful!!
