1. I bought this last year in immaculate condition, and I've used it for all of 4 songs total. It's just far too loud for what I need (my band has a quiet as possible back-line policy and puts almost everything through the PA). It literally is good as new (still has the new smell!), and I'd like [s]£200[/s] [s]£170[/s] £150 for it either collected from Thetford in Norfolk or I can deliver or meet within 100 miles. I'm willing to accept trades for smaller cabs and amps around the 350 watt mark. I'm open to offers! I can't post it, it won't fit into the post box, but you can organise your own courier if you like. The detailed specs and spiel can be found here Heavy-duty plywood construction Two 15" proprietary drivers One horn loaded high frequency transducer Power Handling: 500 Watts @ 4 Ohms Ergonomic handles Recessed 1/4" Input Jack
2.
A bit high but probably not too far off, considering this considerably more common Force 40 sold for £230-odd. Nice profit margin on that one... J.
Those Force 40's are very nice. I do like the trans sunbursts on these washburns!
3. Nice Washburn Vulture in Sweden - is it worth what he's asking? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=150536170897
4. I'm surprised this isn't sold already! It usually takes all of five minutes!
5. Bought Andy's VX215 off of him, thoroughly nice bloke! Highly recommended.
6. This is him, in a more serious environment, still with his 8 string though: And here. The comments say his real name is Hyunmo Kim and it looks his band is called Oriental Express.
7.
A mate just emailed me this link. A bit of... erm... slap bass. Warning: Contains scenes of a chap with serious identity issues YouTube link
Here we go again
8. One part I didn't think of yesterday, is the solo bass riff that starts at 2:25 and repeats during the outro: G ||-------------------------------------------| D ||------------------------2-2--3-3--2--------| A ||-5-5-0h2--3-3-----------------------5------| E ||--------------0h2--3-3---------------------| Regardless of whether we personally like the song, I think the most important and fulfilling aspect of playing in a band in front of an audience is seeing them enjoy themselves. I still wouldn't play 500 miles again though.
9.
OMG how many controls?
Ten.
10. There's a couple of different bits that give the line a bit of an edge. e.g. at 0:45 on this video there is my favourite riff in the song: G ||----------------5-5----------------------------| D ||--------------5-----5------5--------5----------| A ||-5-5---0h2--3-----------------5----------------| E ||------------------------3-3-----3-3----3-------| and there's that quick bit at the end of one or two of the verses that goes: G ||-----------------------------------------------| D ||-----2-5-2-------------------------------------| A ||-2-5-------5-2-3-------------------------------| E ||-----------------------------------------------| and the C on the way back up during the chorus is very important. It's the difference between sounding tight and sounding sloppy. Follow the drummer's cymbal at the last minute the first and third tie round, and on the 2nd and 4th, you need play the C on the last two offbeats (hard to explain because I'm not a rhythmical terminology buff! Sure someone can correct me. As for constructive advise. Disregard TABs, they are useful for getting things across quickly as i have tried to do above, but you will get MUCH better results with a pair of headphones on and the song on repeat while you play along. Headphones are the best method i have found to hear a bassline clearly! Hope this helps.
11. I just jack up the treble and play it clean with a pick Punters don't care.
12. This cab would be great for my Hartke head, but not enough money here!
13. I think when it comes to recognising, we should worry less about whether people would be able to hum the bassline after hearing the name of the song, and we shouldn't even worry if the average bystander would be able to name the song or the artist (think about the Never Mind The Buzzcocks humming round!). One that will definitely be recognised: Bit of an odd one because it's two basses but most would recognise this intro: Noone would tell you what this is called (but it's been mentioned already) but alot of people will recognise the bass line from the 1997 internationally highly successful Men in Black theme tune: If someone were to say "OH THAT'S THE MEN IN BLACK SONG!" does that count as recognition?
14. would be interested to hear the verdict on these.
15.
Swap arranged for this Sunday for my "Enhanced" MAG 300/15.. Thank you Basschat...
So this is gone then? Bugger.
16. What are the specs on the cab? (weight, dimensions, power handling) are they 10 or 12s?
17. Gold Flake.
18. These two use to be mine. Never had a problem, and plenty loud unless you're playing Wembley. Good luck with the sale Craig.
19. Does anybody have an idea how much it would cost me to get a chippy to make one of the EV TL boxes?
20. I want one of these: that I can put my 2U rack mountable amp head into. I want it to look like a real amp head, not a rack case. I think the rack cases look horrible, even though they do offer lots of protection. Just personal preference I suppose! I've had a google but had no luck (other than the massively expensive but rather gorgeous Aguilar cases)! Can anyone help me out?
21. A man sells his amps A user of B 2 B Questions come often
22. I expect postage would be a bit ridiculous on the Marshall to get it to East Anglia?
