Back up for sale in the new year.....

AMP [s]£825[/s] down to £475 or offers

trades.... amps...something lightwieght.... money either way depending on the amp.

...or a deal of somekind including a starter bass making up no more than £200 of the trade

[s]Cab £200[/s]cab sold

Hughes and Kettner Quantum 600 head,

I bought this a few years back from the bassmerchant when I was in the band, inbetween paying and getting it delivered I left the band and not really been in one since.
It's been sat in my room as a big practice amp and been taken to the odd church service or carol service.

So it's pretty much in perfect condition, I still have the manual somewhere. and the footswitch has only been out its box half a dozen times and used twice.
So condition wise no different than if you buy an amp that has been a shop for a while (but not been on as much)

so an internet search should tell you a bit...

Original price £1200 or so 52x18x30 cm roughly and only 14kg! Ok not lightweight compared to a class D amp but still easy to lug around.
600w into 2.8 ohms, 600w into 4 ohms, 600w into 6 ohms, 600w into 8 ohms (you get the idea it pumps out 600w)

The manual will tell you all it's features..... any questions ask, the parallel Eq is pretty awesome.

It's solid state, but engineered to behave like a valve amp in both preamp and power amp stages, and it also has tube in it to do something (partially the awesome compression) it can sound like a warm solid stateness amp in terms of response and articulation, twist of a knob and it is more like a fat warm tube amp, (more bassman than ampeg possibly as it very musical sounding rather than harsh) oh yeah, and it's a LOUD 600w's too.

I'm in glasgow. I can package stuff up nice. I could sort out postage or pickup for your own courier....or for the price of a young persons cheap day return I can take it to edinburgh (not both bits at same time obviously!)

Just found an out-dated link from DV247, they have them priced at £1300: http://www.dv247.com/guitars/hughes-and-ke...amp-head--36090

All I have is a pristine Warwick pro-fet 3.2 but unfortunately don't have the £500 to even out the deal.

best of luck

andy
err you're right, it looks bigger and heavier! prob sounds lush though!

oh and the Cab is spoken for, but is going no where till the amp goes. :)
Haha, Its actually tiny and lightweight! Under 10kg for an all valve head. keep it in mind! :)

How's this for a possible deal?

One of these

http://www.tech-soundsystems.com/eng/home/index.html

Namely a tech soundsystem TVM 350

plus £150 for your Hughes and Kettner head

The tech will deliver around 300W into 8 ohms, is 2U and matches your cab, giving a nifty little combo

It has a passive EQ, loads of growl for a solid state head.

One point though, the compressor on this amp is useless so you would want to leave it off.

and i think the second coming is a bit strong but possibly blackpool will not feel that can roll them over really easily :)
