1. Billy Idol - Rebel Yell The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary Nuff said.
2. I have no idea! I probably won't be able to find out until Saturday, but I'll let you know.
3.
yeah yeah. you were just trying to go for this look....
I've got the converse, but thankfully none of the other give away signs! I'm in the clear!!!
4. I play my '79 T40 all the time. Does that count?
5.
I also reserve the right to call it "Dood-Stock".
Party on Dood. If she was a gathering for like-minded low-enders, she'd be a Babe Bash.
6. Muggins here went shopping in TK Maxx and bought some jeans (from the MENS section). Got them home, ripped off the labels and put them on, to find that they're women's jeans (I just don't have the hips to fill them!) So they're free to a good home.
7. Like this? The only good example of good use was about the 2 minute mark when he used it during a harmonic
8. dood started the topic so he obviously instantly assumes leadership and full organizational responsibilities.
9.
...two witnesses took his details/a photo on their iphones (long live the iPhone!)...
Makes you proud to be human! I guess you're thinking in terms of bass gear? In which case depending on what you're after (amps/cabs or a bass) £800 can get you far. Either that or you can just create yourself a bass fund bank account, and dip into it when something you really want comes along! Just because you have it doesn't mean you need to spend it right away. Keep your eye on the BC marketplace and the eBay links, and when you see something you like go for it!
10.
How good is the bass erase feature anyway? Can't say I've ever seen a bass amp with that feature and it sounds like a great idea!
It plays this on repeat:
11. I'm in! Might bring my cheap tat for a laugh! I can't slap either, and it would have to be on a weekend for me too.
12. I want. *counts his pocket money*
13. Both guitarists in my band have £2000+ PRS guitars... I'm quite proud of being the member of the band with the cheapest kit. I gig with 3 basses (not all at once mind you!), all of which cost me no more than £350 each, a Marshall "bitsa" 410 that cost me £150 (loaded with Celestion greenbacks! that was a nice surprise.) and a 300watt Hiwatt 115 combo that cost me nothing! (although an identical one sold on here for £100 a few months ago). I think I get a great sound out of my kit! I never get people speaking to me about my gear or sound, but I don't think I'd want to! Creepy weirdos! The main time I'll check out a bands gear is if their sound is abysmal, it's all the more satisfying when they're gear is very expensive! Case and point: I went and saw a band recently and the bassist had a horrible lifeless clanky trebley tone with no body and bass to it (in a classic rock covers band), he was using a David Eden 410 rig with a posh looking Warwick $$. Muppet.
14. I now have GAS for a crocodile skin bass... What has become of me? EDIT: From my Google efforts, this particular one is a Modulo Tipo 1. The sparkly one is a Modulo Tipo 3. Both are discontinued though!
15.
Absolutely true, but it doesn't feel nice when you swap back to fingerstyle!
And you get all the flakes all over your previously spotless bass...
16. Regardless of the bass, the advert is really not worthy of a £2,000 listing. I've seen much much better listings with more details for a £150 JapCrap bass. That said, they were listings from a Basschat-er, so it goes without saying that we're brilliant!
17.
Modern Tuscany.
Why do they insist on putting manky huge pole piece pickups in these things?
18. They are so jaw droppingly pretty. I think I've just had a crisis.
19. Important to think about the difference between nickel strings, nickel plated and stainless, with the stainless being the brightest sounding, and the nickels being smoother (less twangy) and the plated being in the middle!
20. Velvet Revolver - Slither We've reached a band decision to do it in Drop D as per the record, so the intro is heavily extended (drummer starts while we're tuning, I join in then the guitairst joins in) We played it on Saturday and the guitarist didn't understand what song we were playing, so the intro carried on for a good 45 seconds to a minute... Felt very weird!
21. I'm hoping for a nice thick coffee table style book. About the size of the John Entwistle Bass Culture book.
22. The point is less people will find it because of the poor title, so it's more likely to stay at a low price, especially with the lack of reserve!
23. Audacity! It can also change the pitch for you, and lots of other things.
24. Listen to Miles Davis - So What and tell me you still don't like Jazz
