This is an ibanez BTB 6 string bass. It comes with a hiscox hard case and is in good condition, teal I think is what you would call the colour. Serial is W413601. I'm rarely playing this and it is just taking up space so someone else might as well be using it. Pics are from phone. If you want clearer pics pm your email address and i will forward them. Make me an offer, what's the worst I can say. As for trades I haven't a clue so try me.

why some (mainly Fenders) & not others?
Or you could buy the right bass in the first place
I Agree. With an amp that allows it to sound like it should. -

I've never really succeeded in modding a bass as I just buy a better one. My one attempt crashed and burned in a fireball. So,,,,, how would I mod a genz streamliner without effecting the same mushroom cloud. -

Would it be fair to suggest that a quality fender and a cheap quality amp will not bring out the best of the bass, so you think you need a new pickup or bridge or something..? I have a genzbenz Benz streamliner and genz cab and my Chinese made jaguar sounds great through it but sounds like a fart in a dark corner through my smaller Roland 30watt amp. Without the genz to compare this to you would be tempted to upgrade pups.......maybe ? No point buying a quality bass unless you are gonna play it through an equal quality amp, it just limits the potential before you even start. IMHO I try to avoid over distorting the sound too with effects because it takes away from the quality and clarity you paid all the money for in the bass in the first place. IMHO of course. My Dingwall ABII was the clearest crispest sound I've ever heard through my genz gear, but nothing like it through the Roland cube. Just a thought, is it your amp or is it really the bass needing a tweak. -

I've just bought one of these and in am pleasantly surprised by how good it is for the money. I'm in totally uncharted territory with made in china but so far so good.

Just done a trade with Harry for deluxe jazz 5 string. Top bloke , good communication and the bass was in excellent condition, just as new. Deal confidently with him.

At the minute every bass I look at is overpriced because I can't afford what I want. As for fodera I was offered one a while ago before I bought my mike lull but I was hesitant because I didn't know if it was out of my league and I'd look stupid playing a bass like that as badly as I do. But. I played a fender made in China jaguar at lunchtime today and nearly bought it until I thought about all the impulse buys that crashed and burned in the past. It knocked lumps bumps and spots off the p and j mim hanging beside them at 200 quid more. All depends on expectation, the setup of the bass, the amp and the sound you want to hear. Why spend 5000 quid on a bass though to get a p and a j sound when you can spend 1500 quid on two real USA basses. A precision and a jazz.....? I am guilty of this previously so I am merely lamenting my own stupidity here not pickin a fight with anyone. I'm gonna sell my mike lull tc5 and buy the jaguar. Anybody want a cheap TC5 ?

What's the worst bass you've ever owned or played?
Black Coffee replied to Marc S's topic in Bass Guitars
I've actually been quite lucky when it comes to sh*t basses. I've owned a few that haven't really suited me, but actual 'bad' instruments? Only 2: 2) Musicman Stingray 5. Too light, IMO shoddily put together, blemishes in the finish, weak output and generally felt a bit toy-like. I really don't know why I didn't get on with it but it just felt alien to play; it was a single H version and was impossible to play comfortably. The body was too big and I couldn't get set on it no matter the strap height and sitting with it caused my right wrist to cramp after 5 minutes of playing. Dreadful thing. Vastly overrated in my opinion. I sold it making a profit of £200 so it wasn't all bad I suppose. Truckstop
Usually view with interest everyone else's opinion but cant agree with this. You must have gotten a complete dog of a bass my friend. I've played many fivers and the second mm I owned was easily the best non boutique bass I've ever played. Mutts nuts in output and looks and weight - the whole package. It was a plain H and it was better than the mm 25th anniversary HSS I had and got rid off after two months of it. Try again maybe? -
Thanks. Its ugly then.
A friend of mine had an 'Axe' bass that he bought from an advert in Kerrang. I borrowed it for a week in an attempt to set it up. It went back fairly quickly with a "sorry, not much I can do". Advert is on this page: http://stuartclayton.com/about-stuart/biography/ Worst sort of budget trash from the late 1980s. Made Marlin look like a quality brand, and my Westone Concord look like a pre-CBS....
I had an axe bass. It was so bad that I wore a brown paper bag with eyeholes cut in it while playing it. The neck bent like a bow when the strings were in tune, the bridge came away from the body in when tuned, the strap buttons kept falling out of the balsa wood crap body. Total garbage. . . . In a bass shaped bundle. Makes me laugh though, I thought I was the mutts nuts until about two days after I bought it. Might start a row here but could I also suggest that the three ricken****ers I had were totally useless too. Looked amazin but played like dogs. -
