1. Was this brand new in december 2012?
 2. Some more info. The instruments have two differently-mounted transducers beneath the adjustable bridge for sound. There is a switch to toggle between them for bowing (arco) and plucking (pizzicato), because the strings vibrate differently under the bow than when plucked; each pickup in the "Polar Pickup" system is specialized for each task. The system is passive, with just a single volume and tone control (Unlike the CR and EU basses, which have an active preamp built-in). Specifications copied from somewhere . SPECIFICATIONS:

LENGTH: 132 cm (52")
WEIGHT: exact weight not specified yet
SCALE LENGTH: 106 cm (41.73")
STRINGS: 4
CONSTRUCTION: Solid maple
COLORS: Transparent Amberburst Satin or Black Satin.
FINGERBOARD: Ebony;

4 string: 43.1mm (1.7") wide at nut; 89.0mm (3.5") max. width

POLAR™ PICKUP SYSTEM: The directional piezo pick-up system responds selectively to either vertical vibration (for the sustained plucked sound, like an electric bass guitar), or lateral vibration (for dynamic bowing, and a percussive plucked sound)
ELECTRONICS: passive volume and tone control
TRUSS ROD: Powerful rod design provides positive relief adjustment, accessible at nut.
TUNING MACHINES: Fully encased worm gear tuners; black finish
STRINGS: Light tension flatwound steel strings are standard. Accommodates all NS length strings and most long scale acoustic double bass strings.
TRIPOD STAND: (standard) Black steel, fully adjustable, standing tripod design. Weight 3.2 kg (7 lbs.) 3. Piezo pickups. Nxt eub. All info is there on the ns site. I will try to post more info later tonight.
 4. Nearest sensible offer will acquire a bargain. £675 ono is the pricetag. This was bought secondhand. On my receiving it there was the slightest blemish on the edge at the rear of the body adjacent to the corner of the cover and I have struggled to photo it. It is totally unseen from the front and visible only if you go for really close inspection; but disclosed it is. Plays beautifully, comes with the soft case/bag and will be packed well for posting in its box. Should also mention it comes with a tripod stand which fits into the large pocket in the carrying case.. Any questions just ask.
5. Are the nyc sadowskys worth the extra. Or do the metro pull their weight as the economy class. Ive bought far eastern produce before and not always been impressed. Anybody have any thoughts on it please?
 6.
Personally Id go for a Westfeild small body bass. Really lightweight, playable neck, decent tone no fuss or hastle, plus fairly cheap and price but not build (from my experience).
I would agree with this. I think I paid about £49.00 for one of these new about 7 years ago for my son when he was 8 yrs old. He has now graduated to EUB, 4 and 5 string bass and double bass too in county orchestra. Westfield, cheap as chips, stayed in tune, did what it was meant to and he didnt care that it said Westfield on it; and for £49 I didnt care if he played bass or cricket with it. Sold it on for the same price as I paid for it on gumtree 4 years later. Total bargain.
 7. Is it still for sale ? After the pm?
 8.
Now that really is how I`m sure many of us felt on joining, and seeing all those wonderful instruments/amps etc up for grabs. Many thousands of pounds - literally - and I think I`ve finally stopped (he hopes).
Ebay was like the starter course and the forum here was the main. Aladdins cave of gear on offer FT / FS. So much temptation. The only way to avoid the GAS is to stay away.
 9. Im neither wealthy nor scratching the barrel bottom for pennies but currently it is extremely difficult not to sell at a loss. Times like this see folk sitting with what they have as no selling of your kit means you dont lose any money. If you were flush with loadsa ready cash you would be fortunate as it is currently a paradise of deals and people willing to take less than usual because other bills are forcing their hands. Many sarcastic thanks to someone somewhere who caused the economic equivalent of the Marianas trench. For deals on ebay - if you search what you're looking for badly spelt, other peoples smelling pistakes will lead you to auctions where fewer people will bid so you are more likely to get a bargain. eg Fender spelt Gender etc etc
 10.
I'm surprised. I have owned two Tribute series (and L2500 and an L2000) and both were really really good.
I maybe just got a bad 'un. Sorry if i sounded bit harsh.......
 11. Red one looks like Dorothys shoes in Wizard of Oz. Blue one looks like a slush puppie drink my young son would have on a hot day.
 12. I had a tribute series 5 string and was glad to see the back of it. Felt cheap, sounded rough and was just not nice. I maybe just got a bad one but i wont buy any cheap eastern models again unless i play it first.
 13. That is one desirable piece of kit. . Love the pup layout. Problem is i dont have the money. Spirit is willing but the wallet is weak.
