I had a quick play on one of these at promenade music in morecambe this week (it's probably gone now!!) and it was very hard to hand it back. I've been playing my Musicman basses mostly for the last month or so, and have forgotten how nice a passive jazz can sound. The neck profile shouldn't be too much concern, I have tiny hands and was also concerned about it being slightly deeper, but felt easy to play. As Karl has said, the neck pickup with the tone off sounds KILLER!!!! My only criticism of the bass is the relic job. It is quite heavy, and a little too heavy for my taste. I'd rather it looked like someone had looked after it and loved it, but had just worn the paint off after decades of use. This looks like it's lost a fight with a pit bull, then been played in a punk rock band for a decade... I'd still have one though!!!

Just picked up a Markbass head from Keith, was kind enough to travel some distance to save about an hours travel off the M4 and back. Great comma, and a true gent to deal with, but in confidence. Cheers Keith!

Oh dear lol. I've come close to doing stuff like that in the past, I normally scorch one of the other wires while I'm not paying attention!! Sorry to see mate, must be annoying!

As you returning a fender flea bass?? What were your thoughts?

Agree, I've just seen the price of these!!! Definitely not at the top of my shopping list!!

I really like the look and sound if these new passive basses, although not so sure I would buy one personally. They have a lovely growl to them but sound like a cross between an active musicman bass and a passive fender bass. I have a stingray and a sterling for active sound, and a fender pj for when I want passive, I just don't know whether I would want/need something in between. Of course, if money was no object, I'd have one of these and and a cutlass in a heartbeat 😃

My GAS has brought me to where I wanted to be when I first started playing... Musicman bass and Gallien Krueger rig. Despite the odd effects pedal I go nuts for, then move on cos I don't use it, my gas now just consists of acquiring different variations of the above. Currently gassing for a GK fusion 550 head...

Poor Becky.... Lol I think that style of thing is great, I wouldn't want my music collection full of it, but the odd but here and there is alright, a bit like slapping (ducking for cover)....

I only caught a bit tonight, and didn't see her. Her name is Becky Langan and she does a folky kind of thing, I've never seen anything like it before (think she is on YouTube). Hope she does well!!

One of my colleague's daughter is in this years show and has done quite well, she is fantastic!
