1. Cheers. I'm tempted to keep it myself but have my eye on some other stuff. £50 does feel cheap but I got it cheap so happy for that to go to a bcer but if you feel inclined a tenner to the forum or the bass relay might be good. Plays nicely sound fine if a little quiet. Really thin neck and its light too. I guess postage would be £15 to 20 Or collection from Bristol.
2. I posted this in general discussion with no response so I thought I'd try here as it seems to be where the pa chat lives. Has any one got any experience of using one of these and if so could they cope cope with vocals for a pub rock band or ate they only suitable for acoustic stuff? Cheers
3. What is wrong with the world when a Stingray only costs £600? Bargain of the year. Shame I'm skint, but have a bump. GLWTS
4. As requested I have just done a quick recording of the bass. It's only on my phone but if any one would like it please pm me you email address.
5. Just lacquer its only cosmetic just wanted to show it to be honest about condition.
6. I dont I'm afraid. Best I could do would be to record some on my phone but it won't be the best quality. It does a really wide range of tones given the jazz set up with active passive switch. It has more bottom End than any other bass I've owned really good dub/reggae tone to and bright modern for slap and the passive sound is nice and mellow. Cheers Steve
7. Bump go on then £160 final drop. Please don't make me put it on fee Bay.

9. Can't believe this hasn't sold looks great value. Are postage or trades an option?
10. Bump to the top. Trades for PA kit or cash only please.
11.
Cheat, like I did. I was born in '57 and have a '57 re-issue.... its the nearest I'll get. Edit - same stable as Shergold but perhaps Hayman and Ned Callan? They pop up occasionally around £500.
It looks like the J&D Jazz is the best option for cheating on a budget! I'm not aware of hayman and ned callan I'll keep my eyes open. Cheers
12. Lots of good suggestions so far. The summary seems to be grabber/ripper, ibanez but rare and difficult to date, shergold lovely but rare. I'm going to keep my eyes on the market place and flea Bay next year and see what comes up. Otherwise it'll be a long list of stuff I've got gas for (T40, guild, stingray, g&l l2000 etc) for too my wife and see what she chooses. I've got a few months to play with bit these suggestions have whet my appitite. Thanks for the help.
13. Thought about putting it on ebay but thought I'd shave another £10 of here first. £170 anyone or make me a sensible offer. I've been playing it today and this little thing has so much bottom end it makes the house shake!
14. Had any one got any experience of using one of these? I'm looking for a cheap pa for rehersals and pub sized gigs and one of these is for sale at a good price near me. It had my min requirements of 4 xlr inputs but I'm not sure if 200 watts is powerful enough. We're a reasonably loud 4 piece and only looking for something to carry the vocals and an occasional acoustic guitar. Would this do the job or should I look for something with more power? Cheers
15. Really like the idea of shergold I can feel the GAS building. I remember playing an 8 string at Electric Ladyland in Bristol when I was younger and it sounded massive. I think the only sensible option is the 4 and 8 string double neck! http://www.shergold.co.uk/models.html
16.
Buy one of these and spend the rest on something else! http://www.dv247.com/guitars/jandd-jb-vintage-1975-sfgr-bass-guitar-surf-green--201561
I like price but the green is foul. Black or natural looks good though. How do they compare to a squire cv or vm for less than half the price? I guess with a solid alder body and a few quid on some good pickups and you cant go wrong!
17. Amazing. Just the sort of thing I was after. Flying V it is then!thanks
18. I regret selling my g3 now. Really cool looking bass. Surprisingly light bass but the body is big so as long as you don't mind that you can't go wrong.
