When I dropped the baton off to Steve aka Skidder652003 I thought it would be nice if a few of the bands who have been involved in the relay could get together to for a charity gig to raise some more money for the fund. I have pm'd Jimryan who is happy especially if it is February to mark the 2nd anniversary of the relay. I am happy to look into organising something and have pm'd a few people who have been involved, and emailed Cancer Research UK for any support they can provide, but I would love to hear from any bands, specifically those who have used the Purple one, who would like to play. Details are light at the moments as it is very early stages, but sometime in Feb and hopefully in or within a commutable distance of Bristol. Let me know if you would like to be involved, I know if 2 or 3 bands already but it would be great to get at least a couple more. Cheers Steve
I think I already have every bass I've ever wanted except for a Rick. Amps I love my GK rig, If I ever buy another rig it will be some sort of configuration from Orange. Blue
Is Not necessarily about what you want. Its about how you would spend £1000 on the market place today. Interesting to see everyone's choices. Cheers
Not easy with any Slade song, they have done some great tunes slightly overshadowed by the obvious one! (I wired Jim Lea's boiler, he wasn't in though,Lol)
that's a claim to fame. His name should turn up more often on here, really top player and managed to write a hit or two.
There isn`t much choice being a lefthander. I think there is only a choice of 2 , as the others cost over a grand. The other costs £700, so only one choice if you want a big rig and pedals
assume whatever bass is fit for purpose as long as it's for sale and in budget.
Goodbye to jane, now that is a good tune, consider it pinched but we are miles away from Brizzle!
You are welcome to it. Its an emergency song for us. We've only done it a couple of times, I really like it but our singer hates singing it.

Inspired by having no money post Xmas and the impending Football transfer window, how about a bit of fantasy football style bass shopping? Scenario is: you have a gig tomorrow and no kit but £1000 budget and access to anything for sale (inc. pending and on hold) in the BC market place what do you buy? Rules at least: 1 bass, and 1 combo minimum Effects, Tuners etc still have to come within budget No maximum amount of stuff or minimum spend Assume you get cables and peripherals like that as part of your deals Other than that the world is you lobster! My choices are: Westone Thunder 1A £140 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/251882-westone-thunder-1a-matsumoku-mij/ Genz Streamliner 600 £350 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/251575-genz-benz-streamliner-600-inc-gb-carry-bag/ Barefaced Compact £350 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/251707-barefaced-compact-gen-1-with-roqsolid-cover-for-trade-or-sale-on-hold-pending/ Korg Tuner £25 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/250295-black-friday-pedal-sale-bbe-opto-stomp-compressor-mxr-m80-boss-ceb-3-bass-chorus-korg-dt-10-tuner/ £865 spent, £135 for beer and chips!
That's the second band on this lost that I've had the honour of being the 100th like
Thanks dave I let off some virtual ticker tape and balloons in your honour! Seriously really appreciate all the likes. It's nice to start the new year with 3 figures. We've been sick in the nervous 90s for too long! Cheers everyone!

Peavey XR600E PA Mixer Amp £50 SOLD

Peavey XR600E Powered PA mixer amp for sale. I believe it is 300 watts from 2 150 watt power amps. More details can be found at: http://peavey.com/me...uals/xr600e.pdf Selling due to some ebay over enthusiasm I bought this with a view to getting some speakers etc, and then managed to win an auction for a full pa system and I don't need two amps. I've never used it in anger but I've checked all the channels and it all seems to work as it should. I paid £70 for it but will sell it on here for £50 as I need the space. Pics to follow. Happy to post which I guess would be about £15 as it is heavy or collection from Bristol.

Dr J DI / Preamp with over drive pedal for sale. £20.colected from Bristol or postage would be £5. Very good condition and still boxed. Perfect as a cheap emergency back up amp should the worst happen. Only selling as I've just bought a Hartke Bass Attack. Photos to follow. Any q's please let me know. Cheers

[SOLD] Westone Thunder 1A - Matsumoku MIJ - price drop

You ought to get hold of one fairly easily. They turnup on here/Gumtree/fleabay etc reasonably often. There's a humbucker one on flea Bay at the moment with a bin of £299. Mine sold recently for £170 so it feels a little steep but mine was the jazz version the ebay one looks in better condition.

If an amp lacks phones socket, what options do you have?

Another vote for a vox amplug. -
Slightly out of date now, but a bit of press for the relay in my works paper from when I had the bass back in October has just been published. A brief article but should go round a couple of thousand people and there ought to be a few more bass players across the sites. I'll try and post a copy when I can.
