1. I was really impressed with the Pacifica 611hfm and the Mike Stern signature.
 2. 1. Jazz /Big Band/Shows 2.Exact height,I'm not sure-but it's pretty high (lower on the electric) 3.Thomastik Spirocores 4.David Gage Realist (Realist and Kent Armstrong magnetic on the electric) 5.Ashdown Mibass 550 or Roland Cube 100 The acoustic bass is a 30 odd year old Chinese bass-it's really nice, punchy and loud, great for walking. Electric Upright is a Clifton.
 3.
Weather Report
They were never the same after Miroslav Vitous left.
 4.
^^ Also, YES to Partridge and Level 42

I always think of this clip when I hear level 42.
You know it's Gary Newman 'Music For Chameleons' and not Level 42 right?
 5. I was at a Mike Keneally/Bryan Beller clinic a few years ago and before it started Keneally was talking to some people while playing air bass to Marcus Miller's bassline on 'The Nightfly',which was playing at the time.
 6. Cool....I'd love to be able to come to the show, but I'm going to be in Mexico. Hope you a good show,Jerry.
 7. Great tune to play....I had to sight read this a few months ago.
 8. I've had a lot of success using a David Gage Realist pickup, running through an Aphex Bass Exciter and into my Ashdown MiBass rig (the 550 head and mi12 cab).Although for years I used a Roland Cube 100 amp, which sounded great.
 9. I can honestly say that there was no player or band that inspired me to play bass-I don't know why I chose it. However, watching Jaco's video inspired me to really get into it deeper and seeing Marcus live changed everything for me.
 10.
The metal bit is fine - it was the Comfort Strapps that had the issues i believe.
It was the Bass Centre version that had problems. I use the Comfort Strapp all the time.
 11. I've been using a single Ashdown Mi12 for all of my gigs since they came out and I'm really happy with it-it basically took over from my Bergantino HS410.
 12.
I thought the ride was always on the right on a standard drum kit?
Sorry my confusion..yeah. With you saying you stand stage left because of the ride,I meant the other way around.
 13.
I cant believe a bass player couldnt string together a few passing notes.
I can believe it. 'Guigsy' didn't exactly have any chops, and was probably told not to do anything other than roots anyway. In fairness, it worked in context but the fact that he did nothing post Oasis says quite a bit too. I actually like the first 2 Oasis albums.
 14. Good sound/tone is a subjective thing so I don't see how you could fail because of that, especially if you play the stuff well. If you are set on changing something,I'd change the amp rather than the effects. I think a good amp will be much more beneficial that effects (as fun as they are). Remember though, that tone starts off with your hands.
 15.
Don't mind usually but I do prefer playing stage left but not because of the hi-hat but because of the ride cymbal. Don't know why but it inspires me more when the drummer is grooving on the ride and I can play along with him/her/it.
So does you drummer have his ride on his right rather than left side like most other guys?
 16.
Are you sure - last time I read that thread he loved it!
Yeah I'm pretty sure.
 17.
Here's a link to an earlier thread about the Diamond started by Pete Academy who bought one in the end, you could PM him and see how he's getting on with it.
He sent it back soon after. I pretty much never use a compressor, despite having 3. I do keep an EMMA TransMORGrifier on my pedalboard just to even out some effects craziness at times, but for normal playing I never use one. Out of the ones that I've tried, the EMMA is my favourite.
 18. Depends where it is. If it's a nice venue with a good stage and set up or a nice scenic background it can be really nice....otherwise,no.
 19.
All I'm saying is, is instead of relying on promoters, do the legwork yourself!
True, but if a promotor wants to put you on a gig then it becomes their job to do all of that. After all,the clue is in the name.
 20.
Just choose the one with the biggest breast?
Singular????
 21. Wherever. I prefer stage left, but I've done a lot this year where I've been stage right. It really doesn't make a difference.
 22. I don't have identical basses-I've got 7 Fenders but they are all different.
 23. Either Dunlop 1.14mm or Ibanez Steve Vai.
 24. There's been no official announcement, but apparently it was Dutch bass player Joeri Hommerson.
 25.
I hate rehearsals, am I alone in this? is it really just me?
No it's not just you. It really depends on the situation...I'm not going to rehearse once or twice a week for one or two gigs every couple of months, but I'll do a few days or whatever if the result is solid gigging for months.
