  1. Indeed. Arguably pre/proto Goth.
  2. My oldest instrument is a rather battered Kimbara acoustic, which either needs gifting to a charity shop, or using as a test bed for learning how to set up properly. Oldest bass is my RW Precision in 2TSB which I've had for 6 years. Lovely bass, but think that's going to have to go in recognition of what appears to be arthritis in my fretting hand. Short or medium scale here we go...!
  3. Parking any comment about the odd arrangement the band have remuneration/expenses wise, I would share your discomfort. There is money available, none of which will be going to the dep who is doing everyone a favour.
  4. Another former owner here, I'd echo @silverfoxnik's comments. This bass sounds absolutely immense and looks fab!
  5. That looks fabulous and seems to be inducing Thunderbird withdrawal symptoms!
  6. Sounds interesting, I'm in👍
  7. This. But done by Epiphone, at least on the reissues. They'd be cheaper, probably better built and with more colour options, even if the woods were not as good 😊.
  8. I bought a Blackstar Fly 3 and extension cab from Andy, a very easy and smooth transaction. Very good comms, quick response and awesome packaging! Great to do business with. Thanks Andy!
  9. Ha, same! We have a wedding on Saturday (singer's nephew, our first gig for nearly 4 years) and we've been asked to do this. It is a tricky blighter to get right🙂
  10. Had exactly the same experience seeing The Who with Pino at the First Direct in Leeds a similar time ago - so not a venue problem.
  11. This is indeed an awesome looking and sounding bass - and much missed in these parts! Think I've read somewhere that Thunderbucker Ranch (Steve?) is no longer making pickups, so potentially an even rarer bass on sale here. GLWTS Nik!👍
  12. Hope you all have a great day today guys, sorry I couldn't make it.
  13. Television - Television (the "comeback album")
  14. Banks' closure will leave quite a hole in York's retail landscape as well as depriving us of quite a decent music shop. Helpful staff and a decent selection of instruments, though the usual brands and no second hand stuff.
  15. Like others, I came to 6 via getting a motor with DAB (so that'll be 2011 and the Mondeo). I tend to dip in and out and avoid any repetition from the playlists, but enjoy the weekend and evening slots particularly. Gideon Coe has accompanied many a drive home from rehearsal. I miss Shaun Keaveny though...

A bit belatedly... In Alvarez ABG (actually bought in 2021, but delayed by retailer faffing around) Maya Jazz (heavily modified) Out Limelight Jazz Custom NR Thunderbird
  17. If I didn't already have an ABG, I'd be all over this. Bargain price!
  18. I'm in. Sounds great👍
  19. Pink. Though with tort please🙂.
  20. Just sold a Limelight Jazz to Mart. He's a excellent fella, very straightforward and great to deal with. Recommended - deal with confidence!
  21. Wish you'd told me this a few decades ago Dad...😎
  22. Blue Öyster Cult on Tuesday at De Montford Hall, Leicester. Haven't seen them for 20 years, looking forward to it!
