16.
Good point. I had a "Gneco" EB3 clone which was an excellent bass. I believe they are well regarded.
From what I have heard they are very good basses. I have several MIJ basses and this one is well up there in terms of build quality and sound.
 17.
I'm sure I saw one of these on the Classic & Cool Guitars website but with a maple board. Yup, here is it: http://classicandcoo...co-pb-450-bass/
Different pickups, truss rod adjustment is at the top and the letter R in greco is different. This is the much later model. Brian
 18. Hi guys Here is my new purchase, an unusual one and I am posting some pics to see if anyone has had a bass like this or even seen one before for Greco. From my help from Jon he has managed to get some good info for me as to the origin of the Bass. I won't at this stage divulge this as i am hoping some of you guys might add your input. Its a strange one because the pickups are not the usual Greco, but I know that this is original and in pretty good shape for its age, probably home use only. The nut width and neck shape are near as damm it jazz like, the pups have a good precision sound which I am more than happy with. Anyway let me know your thoughts I will post better pics when the weather is better
 19.
Nice work. I found that spraying the wood with water & leaving it to soak between sanding helped to enhance the grain. Then several coats of Danish, followed by a few coats of wax. This was mine. https://flic.kr/s/aHsjuw23Lc
Nice work xgxgs, looks like you put in a lot of work on the sanding, I found the inner horns quite difficult but it pays to take your time. The water idea is good and I will bear that in mind the next time I do a project like this. Your finished bass looks awesome and much better than the painted job, hard to beat natural wood.
 20.
I suddenly remembered a project I once did: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1586111
My God that looks very similar to mine except for the pickups. You must have great patience for sanding as I gave up when it came to the awkward bits. Mine is now finished and Im pleased that some of the little dents and residue of the old finish are still present and give it a sort of aged look. All my mates think it looks great Will definitely try this again
 21.
That's cracking that! I'm pleased that you like he danish oil, I swear by it. It's almost impossible to not get a nice finish. Leather scratchplate would look good
Thanks Truckstop, yes its very easy applied and really brings out the beauty of the wood. I will definitely try this method again
