Hi Guys, I have an Aguilar DB750 - Year Old Home Use Only, In Aguilar Head Bag with a Virtually Brand New (4 weeks old) Aguilar DB410 in Classic Black The Rig has a sound like no other..... it's just more than I need these days for 1 small pub gig per month with PA support Looking to Swap / PX Cash Either way for Quality 4 String Bass Fender / Fender Custom Shop Sadowsky Fodera GB Alembic Lakland etc etc etc........ May Consider Trade / PX etc for Smaller Rig (Mesa Scout etc etc) or even Bass & Amp combinations etc etc.... PM me with any idea's (even daft ones) or call me on 07828 168238 Cheers Mark
Hi Mark - I would be interested in the head, would you be open to cold hard cash as I've nothing to swap? Best Chris
 2.
Is there a major difference between the original Mutron and the Haz re-issue apart from the price tag?!!! There are no sound sample for the Grinder on their site which is a shame - looks like it could cost a lot too. Have heard good things about the Maxon AF-9. If it is squelchy and keeps the bottom end I may just try one out! Thanks for your feedback
For me the squelch is the key to the Mutrons sound. Although the AF-9 is great I don't find it all that squelchy. Higgie correct me if I'm wrong but the Mutron III has an optical element that is now illegal to manufacture, this contributes heavily to that squelch. The HAZ does not have this and therefore does not sound the same.
 3.
The Meatball goes for about £400+ nowadays. The Original Mutron will you get you the 70's squelch, as that is the very unit that defined the sound. Usually around the same price as the Meatball though! The Maxon AF-9 is the only filter readily available that even comes CLOSE to the Mutron - I would go for one of those if you can. The Auto Q is great, but isn't what you are looking for I don't think. The FX25B is sh*te, the original (FX25) is better - But still lacks a bit of bottom end.
+1 on the Mutron (mines fixed now!) and the Maxon (great pedal) I'm also using an EMMA Discumbobulator at the moment which is fairly good. Also... this looks like it will be good to get the meatball sound: http://www.bargeconcepts.com/mb.html They claim its even better (s'pose they would though?!)
 4.
Nope! I'm sorry for being so emphatic about this but regardless of how you wish to interpret that 'cut and paste' email from Warwick, the Thumb bass ceased to be referred to or marketed as a JD Thumb bass after 88. At this point it was marketed/sold/advertised call it what you will, as the 'Thumb' bass. A bass produced and sold in 1991 would not and could not have had that truss rod cover! This shouldn't/doesn't affect any value that this seller wishes to place on the bass nor should it detract from any interested party but I can assure you, that cover did not start out life on that bass. I've owned a bunch of these Thumb basses from the JD model (which coincidentally has a whole bunch of differences, see here for a JD bass http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=jd+thumb ), through to a couple of 90/91 basses and I 'know' what I am talking about. The seller can advertise this bass how the heck he likes and I have no issue with the quality of the instrument etc. but I am going to be a pain in the backside about the definition of JD Thumb as it is quite specific and does not refer to a 91 Thumb bass
I maybe should not get involved here but I have to concur with Mr Warwickhunt - I own an '89 "Thumb Bass" that I bought new in 1990 (So I know its stock). The truss rod cover says "Thumb Bass" So the JD issue appears to be only before '88. I have also never seen one (a JD) with a two piece bridge. The cut and paste from Warwick is in very broken english and from what I can understand backs up what I'm saying along with the evidence above. We are not trying to attack you in any way (quite the reverse) - there are some very knowledgeable people here at the forum and anomalies like this just make us want to get our facts straight. Anyway, point is if yours is anywhere near as good as mine it'll be a fantastic bass! Best of luck with the sale

 13.
hi there, are you willing to split the two? i would love to buy both as this is exactly what im after... but couldnt afford both right now as i am selling 2 EBS Proline cabs, unless they would tempt you with a trade? i was hoping for £600 for them both (210 + 300(1x15+Horn)) Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve, with regards splits I would rather try to sell them together but which are you after? If someone else wants what you don't then I might be up for a split. Thanks for the offer of the EBS cabs but I'm so happy with my new amp that I'm keen to use just that. Cheers Chris

 15.
Well if someone wants to waste money on batteries for this pedal, then that's down to them, as finding a power supply for this that works in England is impossible. Being able to daisy chain a Mutron beats batteries every time. +1 to that
 16.
Who might that be mate? I had my other one into Dave at The GigRig, and he resurrected the thing and got it working perfectly on a 9V Boss DC Jack, using a product The GigRig now sell called the Virtual Battery. I was the first customer/tester, the ones in mine are the finished prototypes before they went into production I think! It's just the way of the world mate. It's a scientifically proven fact that as soon as you buy something you want, loads of them pop up straight away! And cheers kev
The GigRig lads have it - the only people I would trust with such matters. and yes the Virtual Battery is the way to go according to Dan. I look forward to its return. Cheers for the heads up tho
 17. Cant believe it - I've been after one of these for ages and then 3 come up in the same week. Good luck with the sale Noir

 23.
Hello friends. I'm in a bit of a financial situation, so these things must go. Firstly. I won't be able to ship these till next week as I'm away for a while, but I'm a stand up guy (not a comedian, although I am quite funny!) as vegas_hooker and tayste and a few others will tell you! First up is a Tonefactor 442 Analogue Filter. This has now become the Boomstick Bottom Feeder and sounds necta! Has blue LED for extra tone. Looking for £50 + £4 p&p Next up, Diago Powerstation. Perfect condition, comes with a load of other adaptors i've collected along the way, batter connectors, right angled blah blah blah. Looking for £40 + £4 p&p (might sound a bit steep, but there really is loads of adaptors) Finally, my Pedaltrain 2 in hard case. Only had this a few weeks. Still got the reciept. May be better off collecting if at all possible cos I'll need to find a big box for it and may cost a bit. I'll say £140 and £10 shipping, but bear with me with the shipping for it! Heres a pic of the filter, any questions of whatevz just PM me. Merci
PM'd
