[/quote] Apparently you can mod a Boss NF-1 to work in reverse as it the exact same circuit! a much cheaper option. The Boss Wave processor http://www.bossarea.com/other/wp20g.asp requires a Roland GK MIDI pickup to work as does the Poly Octave http://www.bossarea.com/other/oc20g.asp I'd like to try both too. Thanks for all your replies, some pedals mentioned I'd not been aware of till now. I'll add them to the GAS pile.

Just received a Boss VF-1 from ebay. I was seduced by the more weird own wonderful effects it had on it. Played with it for about an hour, great fun. Decided to update the firmware. Whole thing has blank screened, nada, nothing, bugger! Really gutted, went from having more effects than I can ever dream of to a total waste of money in 5 minutes. Now waiting for Roland support to get back to me with the cost of a repair. Some you win some you lose I guess.

Bought 'Bass Culture; The John Entwhistle Bass Collection' book from Luke, easy transaction and arrived in no time. Currently dribbling over the amazing collection of the late, great Ox. Don't hesitate to deal with him, as his previous feedback says.

Just to conclude this thread, The new Celestions arrived this morning. I ended up getting them from here: http://www.lean-business.co.uk/eshop/ as they were about £60 inc delivery. I've installed them, and hey presto a fantastic sounding cab! Really chuffed this has worked, as I was starting to think it might be the crossover. If anyone else has this problem these are the drivers to go for. Thanks again to Balcro for his very sensible suggestion. I'm of to go and play it. Noir
