1. Raar genoeg wist ik onmiddellijk wat het wou zeggen terwijl ik nochtans geen Brit ben :-) (strangely enough I knew what it meant though I'm not British :-))
2. It's not in Belgium since he doesn't speak Flemish (I'll get me coat)
3. Watched it and loved it..thought they were great and absolutely not a bunch of old guys, the energy was genuine.. Wasn't a fan of Palladino joining this band but he seems to be more comfortable in this bass chair and combines his own style with that of Entwistle. Zak Starkey is great on drums too (how proud must his dad be) I didn't think I would have watched the entire broadcast but I did (I'm not a dedicated Who-fan) because they were great. That intro of Baba O'Riley, the bass in "You better, you bet", etc...Daltrey was in good shape too, I've heard him sing worse. They are still a very energetic live-band with a great repertoire, glad I watched this after a load of crap I had to endure the past days. No complaints about the TV-broadcast either : the camera was there in time for the bass solo's in My Generation and knew there were 4, a rare thing in tv land these days
4. Bought one new and really pleased with it...I contacted GK but no answer yet where I can find a padded cover for this amp... Thanks for the roqsolid link !
5. It pays when one great bassplayer interviews another one...really enjoyed it !
6. Thanks for the detailed information about "Wichita Lineman", it's been one of my favourite songs ever and now things are more clear....
7. Safe from harm (Massive attack (or Stratus by Billy Cobham))
8. He played golf here in Belgium while he was recording an album and tipped the caddyboy with 500 euro every day during a week..
9. Great stuff, really enjoyed it...thanks for posting !
10. Still a pity that you don't want to ship (just put it in a box after you have received your money) but GLWTS...
11. Sorry to bump this topic but I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the service Mark supplies.. Bought some Bergantino speakers from him a while ago and tonight I noticed that one of the tweeters cracked.. He gave me excellent help and feedback at 9.30 pm and even just now when a lot of people are sleeping and don't answer mails he responded quickly. It turned out to be the amp instead of the Bergantino's (they are so good) but I am really glad with people like Mark who are available when help is needed...I had send an email to Bergantino too and Jim Bergantino also responded within the hour... Great service !
12. Have a bump, those soundsamples just sound so great...véry tempting !
13. I'm in an Abba-tribute band and it's a pleasure to play those lines ...normally not fond of tribute bands but it's a bassist's dream to recreate his work.
14. Was Simon vocally in tune ? Not quite his forte....
15. James Taylor usually....works for me after loud gigs
16. Have a bump on me...it should get sold so it can leave my head :-)
17. I don't play five string bass anymore but this is something which could change my mind...everything about it just says yes, this looks so inspiring
18. Funny to read this...I'm not one of the regular posters but I still enjoy reading here from time to time (it's good for my English :-)) The fact that people have the perception things have "changed" is striking since on the Dutch bass-forum (where I go to a lot) the same arguements as here appear (people disappear, heavy discussions which get really personal, etc..) Apparently it's not restricted to bass-chat but something which pops up everywhere more and more people get together Edit : I suddenly see that I am a Very Advanced Member, wow ! :-)
19. One of my favourite Gilblin-songs....haunting fretless, beautiful http://www.youtube....h?v=Uh9wIVZBhT0
20. A couple of years ago I blew up an Epifani amp (I connected two amps to each other while trying out cabs, :-)) and I send a message to Epifani...Without an hour I got helpful information from Epifani and they repaired the UL502, great to deal with
21. I started playing bass because of Mrs Vanderbilt and especially this...when I heard the part from 2'32" (and the funky bit after it) I knew I wanted to be a bass-player. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsHlANsMSK0
22. There are discussions who played this (even people who think this is keyboard but I doubt that) but I always thought it was Dean Garcia on a Wal bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEBU9lTnqpI
23.
There's a clip on youtube of a dutch guy doing something very similar. I can't find it though.
http://www.youtube....h?v=dNJkDrj0bTw
24. Great cd, actually had this cd (my first one) before I owned a cd-player !
