1. As said earlier, Epiphone EB-0, or for a bit more money, the Ibanez Artcore AGB200. Also try searching for short scale bass in the basschat classifieds or ebay an see what turns up!

3. I searched around on Talkbass looking for the best cans around for practicing bass with, and these were probably the most recommended. Then I found out I hate practicing with headphones and would rather just play with my amp at low volume instead and sod the neighbours! These are top quality headphones, not even broken in, in mint condition complete with leather bag. Cost me over £100, yours for £75 posted! SOLD!
4. I too have come to find I don't really need compression anymore, so I'm selling my Diamond Comp. However, the Okko looks intriguing, let me know if you're up for trading them!
5. Yeah, eBay fees on a £3k bass will be pretty extortionate, I always try to sell gear here first. That way there's also slightly more chance that I'll be able to buy it back in the future if it goes up for sale again!
6. Shameless plug, but I have a mint condition Diamond Compressor for sale if anyone's interested!

9. Oh no she won't, I thought I could afford it but alas not this month. Have a bump on me!
10. ALL NOW SOLD Diamond Compressor This is a great compressor, it can hang with the best of them, including the Demeter Compulator and EBS Multicomp. It also can run at 9-24v, the higher voltages giving plenty of headroom for high output basses (I ran mine at 18v with a Diago voltage doubling adaptor). The frequency response starts to roll off gently below 60Hz though, I've never noticed it (most cabs also roll off around the same frequency) but those of you with 5 stringers and monster cabs that need those subsonics should probably look elsewhere! I'm just selling it as I've come to find I prefer to play without compression. It's in perfect condition with original box, barely used and not a scratch on it, just some velcro than can be removed upon request (I'll use rubbing alcohol to get rid of any glue gunk). I don't think you can get them on these shores, but from the US they are $209 + shipping + taxes from Tonefactor where I originally purchased it. Harmony Central Reviews £110 posted, or £120 including Diago 18v adaptor (fits on a regular 9v daisy chain to give 18v at one of the tips). Guyatone TZ-2 Fuzz (Faulty) This Univox Superfuzz clone sounds awesome, really intense and cutting, but it does drop a bit of low end. I took it apart as I was curious, but when I put it back together it no longer worked! It's probably something simple like a loose wire or something, but I don't have the time patience to fix it as I was going to sell it on anyway! This was in A1 condition (also includes box) before meddled with it, hopefully somebody can restore it to it's former glory! 12. I'd just spotted this and was about to post it... no bids yet! I'd buy it if I had money to throw away, it's a great conversation piece!
13. Schwing! I've thought about getting a red tort plate on my white P too...
14. Also, if you're only sending lows into the tone hammer, you're kind of wasting all the tone shaping options it provides. Maybe it would be better to have 2 full range cabs, or if you're not really pushing the Schroeder and don't need full on <80Hz sub bass, just blend a clean signal into the one amp.
15. Everyone on Talkbass raves about SX basses... And you can get the same P-Bass (although branded as Jim Deacon) in vintage white with a tort plate for £109 delivered from Hartnoll Guitars. That would be my first choice - plus there's one on eBay that had no bids last time around but has gone back up for a £45 starting price!
16. That's a beauty - I wonder how much a train fare to Liverpool is... Let me know if courier is an option!
17.
Yep modding is well worth doing, I use XBMC and intend to rip some games to the hard drive. Another great thing is that you can link an xbox & 360, perfect for using your old console to play networked games How do you go about upgrading the hard drive by the way? I thought it was a special format?
You need to use a gamesave exploit to get the encryption key from the hard drive, then use XBOXHDM to format a new drive an lock it with the key. It's a bit fiddly as there's a lot of out of date tutorials out there! I can dig out more info and all the software used if you're interested...
18. I use a Johnnyshredfreak supply which is like a cheaper version of the Diago - very quiet, less max current but still more than enough for me, and a fraction of the price.
19. Some Multicomps seem to suffer from noise though. I used mine with a Johnnyshreadfreak power supply, which is silent with my other pedals, but the Multicomp hissed even when it was in bypass mode.
20. There's a difference between how the power plug is wired, i.e. centre positive or centre negative and whether or not the circuit has a positive or negatvie ground. If it's just the way the power socket is wired, you can reverse the polarity on one of the pedaks on a shared power supply no problem, but you can't mix +ve and -ve ground pedals on a shared power supply.
21.
The last time I took my bass for a set-up (with Chris McIntyre in Peckham) he told me to bend DR strings into a 90-degree angle then cut them past the bend. He claims they sound dead if you cut them straight. This may help you -- or it may be utter nonsense. But I now do it religiously. Cheers Mark
I fail to see how this would affect the tone of the strings. You're talking about how you cut the strings before inserting them into the tuning peg, right?
