1. Surprised this is still here! There'll be a few people in the morning wishing they hadn't gone out tonight!
2. I use the Diamond Compressor and prefer it over my old EBS Multicomp. It's not been reviewed yet on Bongo's ovnilab site but it's raved about over at thegearpage and other sites. They are coming out with a bass version soon that doesn't roll off below 60Hz, has a differently voiced tone control and comes with an 18v supply for better headroom. I found the EBS to clip when really digging in with a hot bass, but this can be remedied by turning the internal trimpots anti-clockwise. The Demeter Compulator also suffers from clipping with a hot input so I've heard. However the Diamond can be run at 9-24v, and the higher voltages give you more headroom, ideal for slapping and popping or running after wild envelope filters. The Maxon CP9-Pro+ also internally doubles from 9v to 18v and is also one of the best comps out there. The EBS is a great pedal though, and the tubesim mode sounds really good. I could never get on with multiband mode though, perhaps I need to tweak the trimpots a little more to adjust the hi/lo bands better!
3.
does anyone know of any 2 chain daisy chains for just powering 2 pedals? i find that with my 5-6 pedal chain when i only want to power 2 pedals it's a pain to keep the unused links apart so they don't touch each other and short out.
You could just cut the extra bit off that you don't need - it'll still work, although you'll kick yourself when you buy your third pedal. I put rubber tubing over the tips that I don't use as I'm always messing about with the amount of pedals in my chain; take the lead to a hardware store and try to find the right diameter, then just chop off little pieces that you need.
4. I got some from there too, both the straight and offset type. They are better than the more common kind found elsewhere as they are smaller and let you fit everything in closer.
5. Not quite... I'm still awaiting a reply to agree on a collection time. If that falls through then Biggsy has dibbs! EDIT: Now sold! Did a quick demo of all the modes for the buyer and realised I'm gonna miss this one...
6. Just because they're listed doesn't mean they're in stock. I remember everyone had VT Bass pedals and Ashdown Little Giants advertised weeks/months before they were actually available!
7. These pedals are the bastard lovechild between Ashdown and Tonka.
8. Actually that synth is pretty cheap compared to the Chunk OS.

11. I was offering to swap this for a Carbon Copy, but I just caved in and ordered one so this is now for sale. This is one of the coolest delay pedals on the planet. It's very versatile, it has presets and you can get chorus/flanger/reverb sounds from it. It also does 30 seconds of looping with unlimited layering, and using the loop pitch shifting and reverse functions, you can make crazy noises that sound like monkeys having sex with whales in a spaceship in Bootsy Collins' back garden. It's in mint condition, comes with the original box and power supply, and has cleanly applied industrial Velcro on the bottom that I can remove and replace with rubber feet upon request. SOLD
12. Get the best - either a Pedaltrain Mini/Junior/2/Pro with hard case, and also check out the EBS solid pedal connectors, a great space saving altenative to patch cables.
13. I recommend the GGG tuned version as it doesn't suffer from the typical muff mid scoop and it has more gain/fuzz on tap than usual. It's basically the same as the Sanford & Sonny Bluebeard fuzz that has a review over at bassfuzz.com. I intend to build a prototype on a breadboard and mod it further by adding a mid control, feedback loop, etc before building a pedal for real.
14. Check out the General Guitar Gadgets tuned muff if you can solder... Or a pre-built one in the form of the Fuzzrocious Green Stache. It's meant to be a very-ultra-high-gain-mid-heavy-balls-to-the-wall version of the Big Muff sound and I'm gonna make myself one soon! Also if you liked the Neo, check out it's more brutal brother, the GI Fuzz.
15. Maybe he meant the attack rate. Some filters can be set for a slow attack so that they go 'woooooomp!' rather than 'womp!'.
16. I know the one that Toasted built was based on a circuit designed by Jack Orman, so searching for his name would be a good place to start! I think it uses a transformer in there somewhere.
17. As others have said, VT Bass... or the DHA VT1.

19. And because of their size/shape I'm not interested... I'm all about teeny pedals on a Pedaltrain Jr wherever possible! Except for the synth which could turn out to be a sleeping Octavius Squeezer/Deep Impact/G5 killer...
20. Wow, not seen an 'isobaric' bass cab before. A 30cm square 2x10 definitely sounds interesting, although I doubt it'll be light!
21. Meshuggah - EBS Fafner and a Line6 POD are what he uses apparently
22. I think the HF has also got a better tweeter than the P, though I'm not sure if that's a factor for you. I think as long as you can carry it and fit it in your car, bigger is better when it comes to bass cabs!
