1. Well I don't slap. So when I try and it sounds all over the place with some major volume spikes, a compressor makes it sound much better. Of course, a well seasoned slapper with a much more refined technique than I would probably say otherwise! Also, a dual band compressor like the Multicomp should be good in theory for slap, as slapping and popping contains a lot of high frequency spikes, you can tame those whilst making the low end nice and fat.
2. Yeah, but for slap I reckon it's a necessity. Tell you what Beedster, you can check out my Diamond Comp on a 'try-before-you-buy' scheme if you like!
3. Stringstar.com is a brand new site too, seems to be the only UK stockist I can find for Pyramid Gold flats, possibly the most awesomest flats in the world.
4. If you just want a stompboxto reduce volume, check this out: http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/signal-pad-427-p.asp Seems overkill though, can you not get the pedals to output unity gain by adjusting the volume knobs? Otherwise contact Chunk, there might be some internal trimpots you can adjust. I've not heard of this issue with these peedals before!
5. Which flats did you try? Give D'Addario Chrones a go if you want bright flats.
6. There's a DHA subforum on here so you could ask there and Dave will answer you himself. I know these pedals are plenty loud enough to drive a power amp with the boost switched on but I've not had one of the newer ones with the XLR output so I don't know if the XLR is as loud as the main output.
7. True. Except for the WMD Fatman, the only filter that sounds crap after a fuzz but AMAZING afterwards!
8. Some fuzzes don't like it I guess, but it shouldn't cause any damage. For example, I think the Wooly Mammoth doesn't really work at all with my 442 filter before it, probably due to input/output impedances.
9. Take my comparison with a pinch of salt because the EA and Markbass cabs are very different beasts, a lot of what I was hearing was probably mainly down to the speakers since both amps are meant to be pretty flat.
10. Now on eBay: eBay - Ibanez Zebrawood Acoustic Guitar
11. Last of the bumps before going on ebay tonight...
12. You should tell us where you live and put it in your profile!
13. Not a very fair comparison as I never tried them with the same speaker cab, but I had an iAmp 350 combo and now have a Markbass CMD121P combo (which has the LMII head built in). I found the iAmp to be sterile and somewhat lacking but the Markbass is much warmer and more musical to my ears. The iAmp does have a much more versatile EQ, but I found myself leaving it flat most of the time but using the Countour 1 switch to get rid of a bit of midrange honk. The Markbass I just leave flat and it sounds great.
14. Like I said, it might look unintuitive at first, but what you want to do is split the signal before the Brown Dog input and send that to the 00Funk envelope. A jack splitter on the Brown Dog input might look wrong, but remember at the end of the day they are just electrical connections and it makes no difference whether you split the signal a few inches before the input or directly at the input. It's not like the jack splitter only allows signal to flow in one direction. Here's a pic! You can use the splitter earlier in the chain if you have other pedals before the Brown Dog, in which case put the splitter on the input of the first pedal in your chain. Also, if you have a tuner with dual outputs (eg Boss TU-2, Ibanez LU-20) you can use that as your signal splitter which looks much neater.
15. Hey, my instructions were good!!! Think about it - It doesn't matter if you put the splitter on the output of the pedal before, or on the input of the Brown Dog. It makes no difference whatsoever, you are still splitting the signal at the same point. It might look funny but it will work. Make sure you use a mono splitter like the one pictured and not one that's a stereo jack plug to 2 mono sockets though.
16. I heard Hosa have now discontinued those so buy em up while you still can! I personally use the EBS connectors when I can, and George Ls if I need something a bit longer:
17. All you need to do is split your signal before the brown dog and pump that clean bass signal into the envelope input of the 00Funk. Job done. This is what the Brown Dog's envelope out is anyway, only difference is this connection is broken when the pedal is bypassed. Get one of these: Plug it into the Brown Dog input. Put your bass in one of the sockets, and a patch cable to in the other going to the 00Funk envelope input. Ta-Da! I did this with a Wooly Mammoth and WMD Fatman filter (which has an envelope input) with great results. Alternatively you can re-wire the Brown Dog envelope output to be always directly connected to the input socket instead of going via the footswitch.
18. Well it says 16th June for the POG2 - which is next week.
19. First time details have ever been revealed about these pedals and it's from a UK dealer?! Anyway: http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/new-products-65-c.asp
20. In general they have higher tension so you should adjust your truss-rod accordingly. TI's are pretty loose though, whereas Jamerson LaBellas for instance are like bridge cables. If you don't know how to do this then it's worth learning how (be careful) or take it to a pro - if your action is high because your neck is bowed, it's not going to be good for the neck. And more people need to try Pyramid Gold flats, I am loving em!

22. Should be, and if so 'tis a very good price!
23. It can do quite a few things... - A/B switch between 2 amps or instruments wit hvolume adjustment for each - Select between 2 different FX loops or have both in parallel. Handy for blending say overdrive and fuzz in parallel, or switching from one to the other without having to tap dance - Blend an effect with your clean signal It can't reverse the order of 2 pedals like the Wobo Inverter, but I don't think that's what you were after anyway? But even when it's bypassed you'll have the Boss buffer in your signal path, which some people are fine with whilst others insist it 'sucks tone'.
24. I wouldn't put the comp before the envelope filters unless you're trying to limit the dynamic range of the filter on purpose. Compressor after filter can help tame the wild resonant peaks and protect your speakers too! Fuzz before filter and fuzz after filter are 2 good sounds to have, so I try putting one filter before the Brown Dog and one after. In fact, the 00Funk and Brown Dog can be linked together with an extra cable so that you can have the Brown Dog going into the Funk, but with your clean signal triggering the filter. This is well worth doing. So how about: OctaBass -> BassIQ -> Brown Dog -> 00Funk -> MultiComp -> UniChorus (with Brown Dog envelope out connected to 00Funk envelope in) If the BassIQ doesn't sound too great before the Brown Dog then you can switch em around. It's also worth trying octave after fuzz, which will give you worse tracking but will generate a clean octave underneath the fuzzy higher register which I think sounds great.
