1. Maybe this? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=51998 He just got a bass trainer, did you sell him yours?
2. I use a Behringer Micromon, cheap and cheerful: http://www.dv247.com/invt/38127/ I have an adaptor lead to take a mini stereo jack to a full size one so I can plug in my iPod. Then I either run from the XLR out on my Markbass amp or use my Radial JDI to connect to the mic input. Sound quality is pretty good, probably not as good as the boutique Cafe Walter Headphone Amp, but they cost quite a bit and you have to import them. If you already have an amp with an XLR out or some kind of DI box, this is by far your cheapest option! It's also really tiny, like the small MXR stomp boxes. Tip - turn the iPod EQ setting to bass reducer so you can reduce the bass in the original song and fill in with your own playing.
3. They're available over here as Jim Deacon basses, exactly the same as SX except for the logo on the headstock! Hartnoll guitars sell the P for £109 delivered.

boost

Try Silent Fly's Red Dragon boost in the for sale section. Should do a clean boost as well as a mildly overdriven boost too!
5. With the flats on, this is an old school monster with plenty of thump. I've now put a set of the same flats on my Precision and I'm now sorted for thumpiness, so I put some fresh rounds on this SG to try. Sounds like an active jazz on steroids, really meaty with the low mids boosted on the on-board EQ, with tons of sizzling top end. Although they look like old mudbuckers, these Darkstars are single coils with a really detailed and natural sound. Although it's a lovely bass, my main player is still the Precision, and this is an expensive bass for me to have lying around as a backup so I'm afraid it must go. May trade for a decent Fender P also!
6. Could be up for that Jazz to muck about on once I sell my SG - I just don't have room for another bass at the moment! I could get to Chessington, but let me know if you're ever coming into SW or central London.
7. If you're after smooth creamy overdrive, I'm selling a Way Huge Pork Loin! If you want high gain distortion I'd look elsewhere though. Tech21 XXL, Boss HM-2 and Ashdown James Lomenzo are good options.
8. Markbass LMII is a good option, add a VT Bass pedal and you will get the authentic cranked Ampeg punk sound not problem. Or how about the Mesa Walkabout?
9. Yeah definitely chase them up, if they're trying to decide between you and someone else they might go with the one that seems the most keen!
10. Any package coming through marked as being worth $25 or less should escape customs charges. They should sort you out, that's why I try and order from them when possible
11. Yup, bought a couple of pedals from Tonefactor, arrived in a week or less and no customs charges.
12. Now definitely up for sale again. If you want yourself a smooth transparent overdrive this is the dog's danglies - save yourself £20 on what is effectively a brand new pedal!
13. Try the Status half-rounds, they're growlier than flats but just as smooth. I like a woody tone to my fretless, I gasp when people go and epoxy over a lovely wooden board!
14. It does look cool. Makes me want to keep it and get an AMT Communist Pig pedal to put next to it!
15. What did this start life out as, a Squier?
16. I think maybe he meant are the string lengths cut for 4-in-a-row posts (e.g Fender) or 2-a-side.
17.
LM11 + 1212L = Great combo. Sod those big cabs. Am gassing for a VT pedal now though
Just get one - Fender P or J + VT Bass + Markbass rig sounds awesome!
18. You could also plug it into the fx return to bypass the amp's preamp and use it as a power amp.
19. Reducing this to 'feeler' status at the moment... I really haven't played it enough to make a solid decision on it and I want to wait until my Xotic BB arrives before I do.
20. Both now on eBay: eBay - Diamond Compressor Pedal eBay - Guyatone TZ-2 Fuzz (faulty) And sold!
21. Just bought this recently here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=49761 Not 100% sure I want to get rid of this... It sounds great and plays brilliantly but after trying and buying various basses over the years, I\'ve come to the conclusion that I\'m a passive Fender P-Bass guy! Solid walnut body, rosewood neck (nice and chunky, smooth but not glossed finish) and ziricote (no, I\'ve never heard of this either!) fretboard. Gotoh bridge, Schaller tuners, dual Dark Star pickups (http://www.hammoneng.com) and an Audere 3ZB preamp (http://www.audereaudio.com/3ZB.htm) with 4 band EQ and a 3-way impedance control that can give either a deep woody tone or a thinner growlier sound (as well as a regular sound in the middle) at the click of a switch. It also comes with a hard case, straplocks and leather strap! After buying this I put on a fresh set of Pyramid Gold flats (awesome strings, worth £40 a set), but I can chuck a set of rounds on it if they\'re not your thing. It\'s in excellent condition bar a tiny chip/crack in the body which is barely noticeable but I will try and photograph later on (camera\'s dead at the moment!). Now reduced to £475. I\'d prefer to meet in person (I\'m in Streatham, SW London), but can post anywhere in the UK for £20. Anyone who wants to come over and try it through my Markbass combo is more than welcome! Clips! Rounds (Starts off with impedance switch on regular setting bridge pickup, then both, then neck. Then repeats in lo-Z mode for a deeper sound. EQ left flat.) Flats (Starts off with neck pickup, then both, then bridge. Very slight treble boost. More photos added:
22. Way Huge Pork Loin for sale, bought brand new a few days ago, still unscathed with all box and papers and even a couple of tin badges. I've played it to try it out, then polished it up and put it back in it's box before I scratch it and can no longer claim it as 'new'! Nothing wrong with it at all, it's just I'm on a bit of an overdrive quest at the moment and it's not quite what I'm looking for. It's a very smooth and natural sounding overdrive but I use my VT Bass for that kind of sound already so I'm after something with a bit more balls. This pedal sounds really smooth and fat, not fizzy on the top end at all like a lot of overdrives. It also has a clean blend and sounds amazing as a low gain dirty boost. It seems to be the current flavour of the month overdrive over at Talkbass and is popping up on plenty of people's pedalboards! 23. What are you looking to trade for, or if you'd sell for cash how much are you looking for?
24.
Quite impressive prices! And free postage! Not the greatest selection for bass though, and no offers for buying more than one set! Good spot BTW!
I just bought some strings from his eBay store, he replied to tell me his site has just gone up. It's a bit bare and lots of categories are empty, but who knows, you might find a bargain on there if you look around. He gave me this discount code which gives 15% off until 10pm Sunday and is open for as many people who want to use it: stringstar15 The Pyramid Flats are £40 delivered, which is expensive, but not not bad considering they would cost $72 (£43.74) + P&P to buy them direct from the manufacturer. Plus flats last years so I don't mind splashing out on em!
