  1. It would be ironic if the new bass player was on here reading this post and keeping his head down 😉
  2. Strike me off the list for I have sinned big time...... Just snuck in before the start on NYE with a MarkBass 5 string Gloxy, a GR800 head and a GR AT212 cab and was hopeful of making it to the finish. Fast forward 5 months and they've all been moved on and replaced with a Spector Pulse 5 string with an LHZ preamp, a Bugera Veyron amp and an LFSys Monaco cab. Next year is a dead cert win.....
  3. Designer cab and designer mongrel!!!! Great to meet you Simon 😊
  4. Just bought an LFSys Monaco cab from Stevie. Expectations were surpassed in every area!!!!
  5. Simon bought a cab from me today. He drove down to collect it, arrived on time and it was a really easy transaction. Great comms throughout the process. Lovely chap and highly recommended!
  6. If you visit the house tomorrow I have 2 amps that fit the spec that you can try out. They aren't for sale but you can check them out....
  7. Hi Donny, thanks for the reply. Sorry but I don't need another cab as I have something incoming already. Drop me a PM if you need a further chat 🙂
  8. 😂 They are off the hook good as a band aren't they! The bass player just makes me want to give up.....effortlessly cool too. Only certain people can rock flares and tank tops.
  9. Now sold GR Bass AT212 Aerotech bass cabinet for sale. The lightest currently available 2x12 cab according to the blurb. Bought new from Bass Direct on NYE so just under 6 months old. It's the newer full carbon version. Sounds brilliant and is absolutely stupidly light to carry. Switchable tweeter. Front ported unlike the slim version. Comes with official padded cover. Home use and 3 rehearsals only so pretty much mint condition. Selling due to a change in requirements. 700w into 4 ohms 11.7kg or 25.8lbs W52xD37xH76.5cm Collection from near Harlow, Essex or I'm happy to travel around the South East or drive for a meet up within reason (I don't currently have suitable packaging to courier sorry) Price dropped to £800 - needs to go!
  10. Total bargain and a great seller...
  11. The chap who bought the Cort has it listed for sale on here now i think.....He's local to me. Ah just saw he's sold it already
  12. As luck would have it I just happen to have a Spector Pulse 2 with the LHZ Hazlab clone preamp sitting in the front room and we're overdue a visit....I'll bring it over 🙂 In fact I'll bring all 3 active basses over for you if you want - so thats a German Warwick Proline and my trusty old Zon. They're all different flavours of awesome activeness. Add a Cort A4 Plus to your list as well - stunning bass for the money
  13. That's interesting...I thought it was just me. I went from Schaller locks on all basses to just the normal buttons and rubber washers on everything and they all felt more comfortable on the strap. You wouldn't think it would make much difference would you? It seemed to change the pressure points over my shoulder and tuck the bass back into me a bit. That's on all 3 - a Spector Pulse 2, a Warwick Proline and a Zon Sonus
  14. Gary Mac is your man. He's in Hoddesdon
  15. They are a bit crazy but you can switch the LEDs off (and also switch the fan off) from the button on the front panel if you want to
  16. The GR Bass One range would definitely fit the bill. Very flat uncoloured natural sound with the eq enabled and also has the Pure button which takes the whole eq out of the signal channel so you're straight in the front and straight out of the back. I recently sold one as it was a bit too uncoloured for my personal taste. Great features though with the onboard tuner and 9v output https://www.grbass.com/portfolio/one/ From some of the suggestions listed above I also have experience of the Genzler Magellan 800 and its a lovely amp. Really nice build quality and features and one of the best Class D that I have used. It's not an uncolored amp but it can do a clean sound very easily. I have a Quilter BB800 and thats definitely not uncoloured - it's very good at doing huge clean uncompressed volume but doesn't have a natural clear sparkle to it - the top end can feel a bit muted although not dark. It would work well if you needed a lot of volume and used it as a power amp with a preamp of your choice though. Maybe you should add an EBS Reidmar to the list too...
  17. Or maybe "Hi Kenny, doing much for the next few weeks?" "Sorry Pete, I'm a bit busy watching Strictly and Eastenders" Hmnn - maybe we'll give Zak a shout and see if he picks up.....
  18. I've always liked the Gator Pro Go bags. Tons of storage, tough as old boots and great protection
  19. This was a contributing factor to why i packed the band in a few months ago. We had a LWB van full of PA, lights, drums and random bits of guitar gear which travelled to every gig with the drummer. I would always be at the gig to meet him and we had a 7pm target for everyone to arrive to help unload. Everything was in wheeled cases and we had a ramp but it was still heavy work. The guitarist was incapable of turning up much before 7.45 wherever the gig was - not for any personal reasons, he just didn't do on time (unless his kids needed a lift or he had a work appointment of course) The problem wasn't helped by the singer deciding to travel to every gig with said guitarist as he only lived a mile away "and it saved taking 2 cars". Consequently it was almost always myself and the drummer unloading the whole lot and it was really getting up my nose. They arrived one evening at 8pm (for a 9pm start) to find me and the drummer sat on the wall outside the venue - Whats up? Are you both ok they said. Yep, abs fine thank you we said - just waiting for you two to unload the van. Icy silence......
  20. Reality check....is it really going to save the venue? If it's genuinely due to increasing costs and declining numbers it's not going to save it. One single gig where they've saved a few hundred quid by getting a freebie is not going to turn a venue around. Morally it's nice to be able to pay something back if it's to help a genuine venue but it's unlikely to stave off the inevitable
  21. The Cort A series basses are amazing. Both in value and playability. Nice scoop....
  22. Yet another glowing review for Gary's luthier skills.... He replaced the Tone Pump in my bass with an LHZ one. Quick turnround, easy to deal with and lovely to have a chat with too! Thanks Gary 😁
  23. Sold subject to the usual.....
